  1. If there was a polar opposite to the Pulitzer Prize, this article would be a top contender.
  2. The headline might as well read "Two deaths linked to wearing a shirt...". As relevant as linking the marijuana ????
  3. Pretty standard for the new weak strains. Friend just had Covid and mild symptoms lasted 3 days. Tested negative on day 4.
  4. Exactly, MFP already have a majority coalition which is democratic. Even you have to add the caveat about the senators because you know the current Thai system isn't demoractic, no matter how hard you try and spin it.
  5. Yep, Nate is young, wealthy and speak fluent Thai. Of course the AN crowd is gonna hate him ????
  6. This guy is not good at playing the political game (and at this stage, he needs to). He should've sung any tune the senators wanted him to sing (about ALL topics) and after being made PM and forming a government, he could've taken steps to maje the changes necessary for Thailand to "Move Forward". He only needed 12 moths until the senators were out and then big consitutional changes could be made. It almost seems like he is intentionally throwing the fight ????
  7. How? Does each exhibitor pay 23 million for a stall, or are visitors predicted to spend 700k each over the 5 days (hotels, food etc) ? Either way, seems expensive ????
  8. 15 million votes = 151 seats; 1 million votes = 71 seats. Sounds about right.
  9. And dissolving them secures their independence?? ????
  10. And do you support a ban on alcohol as well? The only reason I started snorting coke was because I was drunk
  11. They get the same (115k). I think lower and upper house members have pretty much the same salary scales.
  12. I think they get 115,000 per month and attendance is not mandatory. Prayuth's brother is famous for attending 2(?) sessions during one calendar year and collecting 12 paychecks.
  13. The other problem is that Anutin is a snake: he promised not to support the coup makers (pre election) then formed a government with them. Also, MFP have stated that they wouldn't side with any coup makers (is BJT supporting coup makers to form a government culpable action in the eyes of MFP is the question)
  14. Thanks for the link. I guess I remember another senate vote where some voted against him (just for show of course).
  15. Does any anybody remember the results of the last election - I recall that the senators didn't vote 250 - 0 for Prayuth since the makeup is 150 Military 100 Industry/Private Sector - so MFP need only to convince a few of those 100 to vote for them.
  16. PT didn't win, so she's not getting 10k (nothing to do with whether she voted or not) . That election promise was based on them winning and forming the government (not being chosen to be part of it). MFP won and are forming the government. The 10k is dead in the water.
  17. They don't need to since the police say, "It is forbidden by ANYONE to campaign..." - since the lamposts that the signs are attached to are 'anythings' not 'anyones' they don't count under the law. ????
  18. Yes and no. The majority voted for it because it was the only way to get an election. Voting "no" would've continued NCPO rule indefinitely if their words and actions were to be believed. Furthermore, changes were made to the draft constitution without the support of a referendum. Fundamental changes to how the country and its financial resources were allowed to be governed.
  19. Getting a drink isn't illegal, just buying it is ????
  20. I understand "diplomatic language", thank you. However, perhaps you missed the opening of the article which states "... according to Bhumjaithai leader Anutin Charnvirakul." ???? Thai (and other) politicians have a history of putting words in other countries' mouths - they get away with it more here due to poor journalism and those that support it.
  21. This "news" article is basically hearsay. The use of the word "apparently" multiple times is a clear sign. Have any of these embassies actually confirmed asking these questions?
  22. Most polarizing family...that can be talked about publicly ????
  23. I've driven 5 hours from BKK to Cha Am during holidays, so a 7 hour estimate to Hua Hin is really not that far off.
