My guess is the 30 baht is for the visit. She may have had to pay extra for the medicine...

Is Thailand the only country where criminals are protected because its illegal to report their crimes?
-
As opposed to English food? How many Thai restaurants does one find in foreign countries? Now how many English food restaurants? Debate ended.
-
Should people bothering submitting ones that don't pretend British superiority and make Thai people look like stupid children?
-
"I don't want to report these criminal and murderer teachers". Sounds like you are part of the problem.

Lock yourself in for 3 days. Its the only safe option. Have you seen the movie "The Purge"?

Thinkfor a minute....They are not slaves. They can quit anytime they want. The fee is a scam for mamasan.

It did not do Elvis any harm.
Was not that where he started his drug abuse? not to mention a 15 year old girlfriend
Yep. See? Only good things came from it.

I know people that were reported to police / immigration for financial debt. If you skip a hotel bill you could be arrested at the airport. I know a Thai man who was arrested at the airport, leaving the country, for a vandalism he did 3 years prior. However, since they don;t have your full name or ID/passport number, its unlikely they would grab you.

Idiot for so many reasons....

Feel sorry for this family. Understand the girl's feelings, and also the father. Would be nice if one of the Thaivisa millionaires would sponsor this family so the girl can go to school and the father doesn't have to beg.

So their saying there are massage shops that don't offer sex? Really?

When the term begins, many of the new teachers will be found to be grossly inappropriate or unprepared to work in the real world. There will be a 2nd wave of hiring as the schools scramble to fill the ones who leave in the first month.

I think you will have no problem finding TV members who want to talk in front of a captive audience.

Simple Thai thinking. If you have a car you might have some money and be important. If you ride a cycle your poor and don't matter. Same thinking that places the same restrictions on both a 120cc and 1200cc motorcycle. Don't ask why? Its Thailand.

TV reporters cannot even write in English? I read the headline 5 times and still have no idea what it says.

People employed in Thailand (foreigners and Thais) generally do absolutely nothing unless there is no possible way to avoid it. Expecting people here to do there job is unrealistic.

"He said the Ministry of Finance will be looking at setting up a specific framework for classification of the country’s low incomes within the next 1 – 2 weeks and will be focusing those who earn around 300 Baht a day."
300 baht per day times 365 days = 109,500 / 12 months = 9,125 baht per month income.
thanks for breaking down that complex math, but who works 365 days a year without a day off?

I worked at a dodgy international school in the North (not as a teacher) and was disgusted by the fact that 2/3 of the teachers had major drug and alcohol problems. About 20% were often either high or hung over at work. People who work with children should have better behaviors. 2 of the teachers were known to often flirt with the 15/16 year old girls, but the director was a useless lump and didnt want to be bothered sorting it out. While there are some good Western teachers here, the druggies, drunks and leches ruin the reputation...

Next !!!Why would anybody get upset?
You can see her hand never touched the girl.
Too many farangs with nothing to do but complain.
.
...complains the farang with nothing to do. Oh, the irony. lol

6000 baht, that would be about the fare in Switzerland...

Unlikely the police will bother coming to get you. Likely they will have you in the system and arrest you when you try to clear immigration. Be prepared.

Is he on holiday or an expat? I must have missed it.
