  1. There is plenty of genuine bad things that happen in Thailand but there seems in the last year to be plenty of bogus bad news that gets reported and spread around the world as the truth. All the tourist insurance scams in Phuket and Pattaya. Invent a crime to get a police report. People being "held against their will" and have gone "missing". Global social media campaigns kick off to find them.

Every other backpacker seems to decide they had dengue fever and tell the world on social media.

I came to Thailand 50 years ago and have never had I problem. I follow the law and regulations, if I do not like the law, I still abide by that law, because there is nothing I can do about it. I am a permanent Resident of Thailand, I when applying I provided all the requirements, I passed the required Thai history and communications test. I applied for a PR as a professional, not as being married, even though I was married and had children.

If you get stopped by the police. be polite, smile and proved the required documents or copies of the documents. DO NOT at any time show anger, if you do, you will have a problem.

Thanks for reminding us what one can achieve with enough of their daddy's money.

  2. Police believe the man, identified as Neftali Perez, committed suicide or fell from the balcony of his condo while he was drunk. However, they are also investigating the possibility he was murdered.

Pol Col. Poomwit Wetkama told reporters that they want to speak to the man’s Thai girlfriend.

And she'll have an alibi staying with her Thai husband all the time........not wanting to come up with any assumptions, but why would such a young guy commit suicide?

Please Google Udon Thani and Farang deaths. Pretty much scary.

Wow, your psycho psychic, whats the next lottery winning numbers? Thailand is a magnet for crazies and drunks. Its amazing more don't die daily.

  3. The current issues seems to be having to have an "education" degree, as opposed to just any degree. makes sense on the surface, but an education degree does not actually mean the person is a good teacher, and an unrelated degree does not mean a person cannot teach well. I have met several "proper teachers" in Thailand with teaching degrees, that were so dysfunctional I wouldn't let them walk my dog, much less teach my children.

  4. 130,000 Baht hospital treatment.

A bit pricey for a Thai motorcyclist me thinks. Maybe that's why she doesn't want to be named.

My girlfriend hit a motorcyclist who was hospitalised for 3 days with broken legs, cost 50,000 Baht.

Edit: After reading the full report, I take back my comment. I didn't realise she was hurt so badly.

A bit pricey me thinks? My leg operation at a government hospital was 95 K. And guess what? I was still on crutches after 6 months.

Do you really think broken bones heal withing 3 days?

You should have taken back your whole post, me thinks. Sorry, but it sounds so Anti Thai that it already hurts.

LOL, you complain about "Anti-Thai". Have you ever read any of your own posts?
