  1. I wonder how ATM withdrawals from an offshore bank will be handled. Previously, it's been a bit expensive to NOT bank here with those fees. I can see me eating those fees as they are 220 THB on a 30k withdrawal, which is way less than being taxed.
  2. Before legalization, you could make a phone call and have an ounce delivered to your door in hermetically sealed bags (no smell), It was 12,000 Baht an ounce and came from medical marijuana growers who had licenses way before June last year. The stuff I know of even had it's own brand name and logos. I see that side of the business growing and becoming more widely available now that the network of growers has increased.
  3. A friend of mine had MS. He would constantly shake uncontrollably but after 1 or 2 puffs on a joint, he'd be relaxed and no longer shaking. He certainly wasn't at "stoned" level at that point.
  4. No - you just thought I meant something else. There's a lot of drugs that can only be prescribed in a hospital - in other words, the local clinic can't prescribe them. Drugs like Tramadol are a good example - they used to be OTC here but then Thai kids started abusing the stuff mixing it with booze and so they brought in additional restrictions years ago.
  5. In Samui yes - in Bangkok and most of Pattaya, they cracked down on them years ago.
  6. Unless they make it like valium and other abused meds and you can only get prescribed in a hospital.
  7. Well, that'll scare the government. Its right though, docs wont prescribe weed when they get paid to sell pharmaceuticals. Plus theres still those that doubt the medical benefits.
  8. I know people that have/had problems with weed. One was a girl and her case was very severe and she ended up in detox. For some it's an escape. Myself - never seem to have had a problem with it at all - except a bit of a cough after a long session.
  9. My pre-legalization hook up has started plugging his brand on Line again. He'd gone quiet and opened a shop. Prices are cheaper too. He had a medical M license all the time but obviously his 'sales channels' were non medical ???? Not sure if the timing is coincidental but looks like he's going back to the old delivery model.
  10. This is going to be the trick. That 8-10 million Baht is savings, not earnings. Taxing your savings when you bring them in will need to somehow be separated - making the whole thing a farce IMO
  11. And the strain you are putting on your heart will take it's toll some at some point. It's not healthy.
  12. I was going to say - they tried this already during Thaksin's reign didn't they? And they turned out to be a pile of crapola.
  13. I paid sin sod - basically enough to cover the price of the wedding - which was a blast in Isaan. We had a mor lam band playing on a stage in a rice field - and the wedding ended in gunfire. Epic. Still married 16 years later...
  14. different groups of people.... I wasn't a fan of Thaksin when he was PM to be honest - especially after the red shirts took Rajadamri... But after Prayut - I would have Thaksin back as PM in a heartbeat. The country has stagnated under the military and they still have their fingers in a lot of the pies. So yeah - people can change their minds on him. I know I did.
