Bangkok rail fares capped at 20 baht by March 2026
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
How do they plan on funding the operational and maintenance I am seeing a 10k baht promise. You can't increase riders on the main line -
I think the best way to take this is to have the wife invite her for coffee or lunch and have a long talk with her. I would have a long talk with son along the same lines and then compare with wife. Ask him where he sees this going and what he wants to do. What does he see himself doing in 5 years? Where does he see himself going to school after Matayom?

Do not try to break them up or tell him he can't see her Then again it is your house. There should be a curfew system during school. Is your wife Thai then I would suggest you meet this girl and find out why she is not dating someone older. The other question is boy Thai. Then you have a new set of issues. Also make sure he understands about condoms I doubt you want to be a grandfather any time soon.

Unions had a place in teh beginning. The problem now is that they feel they need to get involed with politics and diferent things instead of representing their people. Consider that in the U.S., a teacher can be useless and still not lose their job. Teachers' unions have nothing to do with helping education and everything to do with political points to the point that they back teaching everything but reading, writing, and Math in favour of LGBTQ+ and rights. There is nothing wrong with the old-style unions that fought for their workers. The problem, as has been stated, is that many of these unions have been so pushy that they have not considered the future. They did not look at globalization. They did not take into account the costs when Baby boomers retired. Foreign car makers that need to be in teh U.S. for rules have found that they can pay a good wage and give benefits the same as Unions desire so that there is not a neeed for them.

Want to find a romantic Thai partner
kingstonkid replied to Terrance8812's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Thai ladies enjoy romance if you provide BUT have no idea of how to be romantic. They do not have any experience with the idea. Consider that most Thais are brought up wam bam keep hubby happy and just lay there. Even Thai soaps have no idea how to show it on TV. Past GF got the romance and everything and enjoyed it. Her married friends were jealous and commented that their husbands did nothing for them. I asked when the last time they did anything romantic for their hubby was, and they only got strange looks. -
Move Forward Party Preps for Future as Court Case Looms

Are you white, breathing, walking and have money. Then, no matter what you are a hansum man. For a lot of the women, I think it is their way of starting a conversation.

I think Sheryl has the best advice, but I would also find a lawyer and have him look after questions to the doctor in the hospital. Anything the doctor tells you he can deny later. Anything he tells a lawyer is a little harder to deny. Also, it will b\get resolved quicker Hope she gets better

Police Raid Rangsit Club, Discover 65 Underage Patrons
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
How many bars were there when you were young in your town that underage kids went into with either fake IDs or just walked through the door? I can tell you Kingstn had quite a few. University kids are uni kids. They want to party, and if there is nowhere else, this is where they are going to go. -
I am hoping that you are joking. The biggest issue is that the young people and some of the older are finished with the military dictatorship of the elite. If they attempt this, it will be very bad for the country. The people need to take back control and try to make the country more about the people than about the rich. Thailand needs to have a party in control that is not beholding to the rich elites and their old ideas. The only way education and culture can flourish is if they are removed from the control button. The military and elite are still in the education system that says that they want robots and only to train people enough to replace their parents. There is o real concern for the country becoming a power develop skills and jobs not related to tourism/

Police Raid Rangsit Club, Discover 65 Underage Patrons
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Not really a surprise as the only people in Pathum Thani that go to bars are the young people. It is the only place to go for a night out with music. -
I think the problem is bigger than that. PTP may have the position of PM and be called the leaders, BUT the fact that they need to keep the military and elite happy to stay in power is hurting their ability to do anything. It will be interesting to see what happens and how long the PTP survives if the MFP is dissolved. I think the elites have this set up so that Sethia is found guilty of ethics violations around the same time as MFP is disbanded. Then, they can withdraw from the coalition and dissolve the parliament into an election with no real party to run against them. The only questions are going to be how long it will take for the new MFP to be formed and whether the people will accept military rule.

I think the challenge is that you are talking about 2 different things. Personal income tax and business tax. the flat fee is for people that make money; however, as soon as you say business, that implies that you have a business, and that is usually a separate income tax. Then again I am not an expert and would suggest that you contact an accountant for real advice not on here

Cabinet Approves VAT on All Imports Exceeding 1 Baht
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The issue is that they talk about doing this or doing that promise this or promise that but nothing gets done. The coalition has said they are going to do a lot but so far nothing has been made law or enacted. -
Cabinet Approves VAT on All Imports Exceeding 1 Baht
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Relax, there are so many things that have been approved by the cabinet to go to the house that they will never get it actioned. Also, the big money people have not weighed in yet on this and how it will affect their wallets. Consider that they have Cannabis laws 10k wallet wage increase charter amdt rice pledges debt solutions Casino VAT possibly new Prime Minister pardons for political prisoners Senate, With the few numbers of days, they sit, I would be surprised if anything gets passed. LOL it will be fun to see what happens in the -
Thailand Set to Enforce Stricter Penalties for Drunk Driving
kingstonkid replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Interesting thought, and to a point, I agree, BUT, if they sell to a minor or they sell to someone that is already intoxicated, then they should be charged or held libel. Consider that in Ontario, if you hold a party and someone leaves your party, gets in their car, and has an accident while DUI, then you also can be sued and held libel. The big deal, as with everything, is enforcement and the Thai people's ability to disrespect the law. First, you have the police, who will not enforce minor laws like helmets and drinking. So Somchai gets ticketed and loses his licence. The next day, he is back on his or someone else bike riding as if there is not a care in the world. He has an accident, and because he is poor, nothing happens to him. Personally, I think ride-stops should be near large parking lots or fields. There should also be big 18-wheelers parked there. If you get stopped and you are close to being over, they park the car, take a taxi, and go to the police station the next day to get the keys and drive home. If you are on a Nike, they load the bike into the back of the 18-wheeler. If you are over, they keep the bike and/or car until after you go to court. -
Thai Police: is their reputation deserved?
kingstonkid replied to Watawattana's topic in General Topics
I think a lot of police action depends on who it is and what and who they know. Mosdt police here are not going to jump in and make the waves of arresting someone if they know they are going to get off anyway. We see that here but it is actually getting worse depending on where you are in the U.S. California is the perfect example and Bpston soon will be. There is more concern about the people being arrested versus the people that are violated. -
Thai Police: is their reputation deserved?
kingstonkid replied to Watawattana's topic in General Topics
I think given the choice of a monk b soldier c. cop that most will choose to be a policeman. The challenge is that most that apply do hot have a high education, and the pay sucks. We have all heard and know about the brown envelopes or the fines on the side of the road. My personal feeling is that in order to get promoted you have to be an earner. The police department is like teachers, and the military is severely underpaid at the lower levels. As a young soldier in Canada in the late 70s, I can understand that as a private, we were paid crap but thank god for clean barracks and mess halls. RESOLUTION This is fairly simple and is sort of happening. First they have to upgrade the standards of the police training. Second upgrade the tax structure so that more money is coming in and less is going to corrupt business deals. Third, take the money and give the police a pay raise, starting with the cadets. Fourth, establish a rule that states that if you are found taking any bribe, be it a free meal or large, you automatically get fired and lose your pension and any benefits. Extreme corruption should be automatically mim 5 years in prison forfeiture of everything your family has. fith if you break the law or fail to properly enforce the law you are terminated on a 4 strike basis. This goes for helmets on motorcycles and other traffic of walking laws. -

How can I improve my relationship?
kingstonkid replied to Jackie Szoboszlai's topic in General Topics
Been where you are, and the challenge is that you have to understand what is important to you. It may be a case where you need to find a GF that you set aside time for on weekends. You definitely do not need a live-in partner as you, unfortunately, treat them at the same level as a cat. You play with it occasionally but/ If a weekend is too much, then find someone who has a full-time job that is also busy. It is extremely hard to put on the brakes, and change. Do not even try that. Find someone that you can spend an evening with but be fully engaged in the evening.
