He has been the singularly most important of the visual people in politics in the country for a long time.
There are others that are more important but they tend to sit in the back and be unseen.
Once parties like MFP can get more mainstream and established you will see that change.

The endless cycle of tomfoolery.
They need a more honest approach to employment. Yes almost eveeryone is employed but is that little old lady standing near the escalator playing her husbands violin really employed.
There needs to be a true indepth study. If it ups the English speaking and reading ability, Thailand has the ability to be a call center country and replace the Phils.
But the education system needs to be repaired.

Taken in isolation your right only 5 Baht.
Now think about all the courier companies zipping up and down the highways, it will soon add up and increase their costs.
Who do you think will have to pay those extra costs.
The couriers will eat the extra fee for a few months then raise like they do every year.
The big thing is that it may cut downon the number of vehicles on the toll way which would not be a bad thing.
The more they charge the more people are going to reconsider driving into BKK hopefully.

That probably depends on which Immigration Office you're you're going to.
For me, I need only my passport, the rest they have on their computer. That's in PKK Immigration (not Hua Hin!)
Pathum Thani they just need the passport and the completed form.
If you go early int he morning you might not even need an appoointment

I could do that, or just get a retirement visa since I am over 50. That's not the point. The point is that I followed the rules and was still made to feel unwelcome. No guarantees that getting either of those other visas will solve that. It makes me want to reconsider retiring here when there are other countries who seem to have much more welcoming visa rules for people like me. There are limits to what I will put up with no matter how much I like it here. The new tax rules are another thing that concern me. It's not just this.
The problem is that too many people have followed the rules to the point that they're getting tired of people staying here abusing the rules.

I find this hilarious
Ruining the reputation of Phuket or Pattaya tourism
Lol
That's right up there with girls aren't safe at nana.

unless this lady was running in the streets or knew levitation and could fly along the streets, she had to walk.
It is only you that took it to a different meaning.
Also, it is not a lady that is walking the streets
it is a street walker that has the connotation of a lady of the evening

SO ASEANNOW has joined the click bait world. Can people not get a grop and report things properly in the headlines.
YOU LIED
ncreased visa fees by up to 600% expected at Thai Embassies and Consulates worldwide

Considering that this person does not exist (Google the name), we hear the same whine (no cheese, please, Lactose intolerant). The facts are that almost very country in the world screens SE Asians going to their home country. You should see the hoops and things a Pakistani has to go through to get to Canada. Once they are through and get a visa it can still be taken away from them at the airport if there is a possible issue.
Unfortunately, Thai ladies are prime for jobs as Massuse on paper. Then they end up working as prostitutes or in sweatshops giving good-time massages.
It is o different than the Lao, Burmese or Cambodian women that come here and end up working near walking street or soi BuKaow.
The difference is that SK is able to check women coming in on planes.
Canada does the same thing to people coming in who do not have a valid reason for the visa or a sponsor.
Also consider what happens if someone is caught working in Thailand.
Thailand is tourism-generated and has no other real source of income, so they have to let people in. What they should be doing is checking the people that are staying on multi 90-day visas for income.

Our comments are sexist and justification based they are not based on any factual evidence from this case.
Mine are built on facts.
I have walked the streets of big cities late at night and can assure you that at that hour there are not that many truly safe places.
It has nothing to do with it being a male-dominated world.
It is not the smartest thing for anyone, male, female, or LGTBQ, to be walking around late after the bar closes or at midnight when everything else is closed.

I think that there will be changes. I think that the young people willl be obviously older and will be in positons to make changes.
I think that it will still be a monarchy, but the military will still be struggling to find control that they lost.
The big questions are what is gong to be done about education. The challenge here is that it is still run by the same people that ran it 20 years ago. Can the new teachers and or the new adults make the necessary changes? Is unknown?
Thailand needs to get away from its dependence on tourism, and I do not think it can.
There needs to be a push in other SE Asian countries that makes them want to get better.
I have a feeling that Thaiald may end up dependent on or influenced by China and will, like a lot of the rest of the world, be less dependent on the U.S.
Really though, I see a modernization, but I think it will still be same as it is now.

I try to ignore those woke idiots.
And it seems more people are annoyed with those woke idiots.
I don't know if it has to get worse before it will get better or if we are already at that point.
Luckily Thailand is far away from the woke idiots from America and the rest of the west.
We can see what they do over there and laugh about it and ignore it.
Imagine trying to have most of teh tb shows that we grew up with.
MASH
All in the family (forget the British version name)
threes company
the Jeffersons
Maude
Happy days ( all white cast but stereotype of Arnold)
There would be nothing on TV
Then we have the commdians from then
Imagine George Carlin or John Belushi
Aminal house would have never made it anywhere
Instead we get all this CGI vanilla crap or Disney

Midnight vs 4am? Proof reading required
as to the victim’s blame game, because we live in a male dominated world, women need to take extra precautions around time, where, alcohol consumption, group travel, attire etc…
it is the reality of our world of Neanderthals that dominate the landscape at every corner from boardrooms to dating apps to religious gatherings to public transportation to isolated nature spots to fraternity geeks masquerading as college students
This has very little to do with male-dominated worlds. The sad thing about Ilfe is that even if he had been a male, while, it would probably not have been sexual, there is the likelihood that he would have had an issue of some sort.
We read online all the time about this guy that had a fight with a ladyboy or the guy that got ripped by a hooker.
The challenge to the whole thing is that walking around alone at 1 am is not the safest thing to do no matter what country you are in. Especially for a lady.
A fedw important things that were left out.
Was she inebriated? The insinuation by the time and fact that she was walking alone is yes but we do not know.
Did the guy try to kiss her while driving or molest her while driving? Not the easiest thing to do.
Most of all, the thought was why was she walking around Old Phuket town at that hour? Surely all the shops were long closed.
Anyway I am not saying she was totally at fault but I have a feeling that male or female walking around at 1 am alone is only inviting issues be you male or female or LGTBQ

It could be that it took awhile for police to get there. Then they have to invetigate on scene.
Then they take her to the police station. Timeline sort of sounds right
Just wish they would stop with the sock phontos

Did you know that most if not all loan sharks have either police protection or partnered with police.
Yes but once it is on the books even the other cops have to be careful.
There are other ways to get the money, unfortunately.

Not [putting me down, but I think that a lot of time, people on here seem to think that this or that is a Thai issue only.
The main thought still stands.
The people who are borrowing from them have no credit rating. It is too low to register. They have been refused by the bank and are desperate and, to a point, lacking the education.
There is also the prevailing feeling that if the debt gets bad that the government will save them by either wiping their debts or by taming the shylocks.
I think probably also there are those that thought they would have their 10k from the government and be able to pay the debt with that or the extra mney they were going to get from the rise in wages

Why do people think just because they are in a different country, they can do things they would not do at home?
I do not condone sexual assault, BUT I have to ask what the hell a woman by herself is doing walking the streets of Phuket by herself at 1 in the morning.
Also, what condition was she in?
If this was a guy getting mugged we would simply say he should not be wandering around drunk at that hour by himself.

Sorry, to burst your bubble, but loan sharks are common all over the world and have been around since before Jesus. Just like prostitution, they are a by-product of society that will always be needed.
