  1. Thinking ba ba meant the e-visa to visit Vietnam. It took me about 3 days to get an e-visa approved when I visited in Oct 2022.
  2. If you have a VPN service, you can watch the World Cup on tubitv (dot) com. Cut/paste below is for information only. I'm not a soccer fan so not sure if they will have live matches....the channel is now playing a match from 2018.
  3. Suggest Owndays located at Central Festival. My pair cost ~3500 baht. Of course the frames will be a factor in the total cost.
  4. My comment was meant to be tongue in cheek. I rarely wear a mask either (exception is at a hospital) but just about every politician/celebrity wears one, at least when the camera is rolling...so the blind continues to follow the blind.
  5. Excellent news. Now can Thailand get rid of the mask once and for all?
  6. I thought they all lived in Thailand....or is that only ex SEAL team commandos ????
  7. Check if there is a FastShip office close by (you may need to Google it). Their prices, IMO, were better the Thai Post and DHL. I just sent my second 20kg box from Chiang Mai to the US East Coast...dropped it off on 2 Nov and it got t my daughter's house on 4 Nov. Suggest getting the box from their office.
  8. They didn't unpack and go through the entire box. I had my hand written list and they did a cursory look to make sure (I'm guessing here) nothing was visible that is prohibited. I just sent a second box this week. They didn't look inside but they did ask questions about one of the items I had listed. OBTW, it was a wooden desk display and they asked if it was teak wood (they said shipping teak wood is prohibited).
  9. Not sure about other locations....I only know about the one in CM.
  10. For clarity, would you label Hillary Clinton and Stacey Abrams as fascists?
  11. I would suggest FastShip. I was skeptical with their "4-5 days" (not including weekends). I sent a 20kg box from Chiang Mai to North Carolina on 26 Oct and it arrived 1 Nov. For the UK their advertise 3-5 days. Hopefully my attached link doesn't violate the rules....just posting for group information only. https://fastship.co/shipping-to-uk/
  12. And hopefully Biden will use the correct pronoun????
  13. The wife and I visited Da Nang in early October. I would suggest applying for the e-visa. The process was fairly easy and cost $25 USD. It's better than having to stand in line to get the visa once you arrive. My wife traveled on her Thai passport and didn't require a visa. Check out the link below. https://immigration.gov.vn/
  14. For anyone interested, I found a company, called FastShip, to ship internationally. You can Google them to see if they have a location near you (click on "Contact Us" tab at the top). In Chiang Mai, they are located across from Central Airport Mall, next to PT gas station. You can get various size boxes at there store. I got the largest size box, 45x40x55 cm; the max weight is 20 kg. My box was 19.80 kgs shipping from Chiang Mai to Charlotte, North Carolina....price for 20 kgs 7847 baht (~$212 USD). Their website estimate 3-5 days deliver; I dropped it off the morning of 26 Oct and my daughter got it on 30 Oct. A few tips: make sure you have an itemized list of the contents (they enter the items in their computer), don't seal the top part of the box (they will want to look inside to verify no forbidden content), and make sure they tape all edges of the box. Also, the CM office only will accept funds transfer, i.e. no credit cards or cash. It's best to have a Thai person with you...unless you speak fluent Thai. This is no way an endorsement for FastShip but it was the cheapest and fastest that I found.
  15. Agree. Same with the music played in stores. I was at the mall, sitting outside of the store waiting on the wife. The song playing was "eff this <deleted> MF'ers"....TIT.
  16. Agree but sadly, and unfortunately, I would bet she would just max it out again, i.e. rob Peter to pay Paul. It's a vicious cycle. I read (maybe on aseannow thread) the Thai mentality is "today, not tomorrow".
  17. Are they based out of California? That's what my google search found anyway.
  18. Checking for recommendations to ship some personal belongings from Chiang Mai to the US. I have a website for Siam Shipping but wanted to know if any forum members have used another company. I shipped all of my (now adult) children's things over when I moved and they just sit in storage bins. As I get older, I don't want to those memories to get thrown away when I'm gone. I'm guessing 75 - 150 lbs total and would most likely fit in two large size luggage. Nothing is urgent to get sent back so a slow boat cargo ship would be fine. Any suggestions is appreciated.
  19. check VietJet (BKK to HCMC or another vietnam airport) but thinking Nok Air would be cheapest.
  20. FYI, my flight for the wife and I, with 15kg of checked luggage both ways, was $473 USD.
  21. Now, now. Stop providing facts....it only triggers the sheeple.
  22. I didn't see any option for a direct flight (on my dates of travel). I would have paid extra for the convenience.
