I don't see this as a problem. As far as I'm concerned, good riddance. The US should triple the price of defending Canadian airspace (i.e. NORAD)...better yet, pay equally or defend yourselves. Actually, the same with the NATO countries. Those countries have been under-paying for years. It's time they pay their fair share or the US should divorce itself from NATO. The free loaders have been riding the coattails of the US far too long.

Just my opinion based on being stationed there (82-85) during my military days, and being previously married to a pinay for 26 years. Filipinos are mostly receptive / acceptive of anyone. But there is a saying there "pesos says so". That was the mentality when the US bases were active, when the Europeans came afterwards dominating the bar/nightclub night life, now the Chinese and Korean influx...so whoever comes in with the $$$. Again, just my opinion.
