I have a Bfirst Bangkok Bank debit card and it works online with Philippine Airlines, Invadeit, Big C and Tesco with no problems.

I am from the UK and my wife is Thai. My wife and I reside in Bangna, but when we married we did it at Phra Khanong Amphur office with no hassles whatsoever. I was told we could marry and register at any amphur office.

If you are using windows 8.1 as I am on a Laptop bought in Thailand, then click on English US keyboard and the hash sign will work perfectly.

Normally it is 2 hours before the flight and closes 30 minutes before boarding.

I agree that transferring money from the UK to your account in sterling, via the Bangkok Bank London Office is best. It costs £20 plus 500 baht in Thailand, far better than most FX companies. It also arrives the next working day.

Which bank do you use in Thailand? If Bangkok Bank then use their London office to send sterling to your account in BKK. Fees are better than most.

If 20gbp fee in uk and 500 baht fee or less then BBL is cheaper

I have a 63 sq. metre 2 bedroom condo and spend 6000 baht per month on utilities, which includes 2000 baht on cable TV. I use a fan during the day and one air con for 12 hours at night.

I have transferred 5000 pounds at a time with no problems.

Using the Bangkok Bank London office is the best option, Transfer the money in GBP£ and you get the best exchange rate. Fees are cheap too. An earlier post has the URL providing you the information you require.

Try the IT City (Pantip ChiangMai Branch) . I recently bought an HP notebook from their Bangna shop for 9000 baht with windows 8.1 already loaded.

I have an excellent English lawyer practicing in Thailand. Send me an IM and I will provide his name and contact details. I am sure he will try and help you.

Your stats are about right for a S3 without a battery back-up. I have a 'back-up pack that keeps the S3 at 100% but still need to charge the 'back-up' pack each night.

I am recently married to a Thai wife after 6 years and get on well with the 'in-laws'. Instead of a 'dowry' and with the 'in-laws' agreement I decided to rebuild their house, so that my wife and I have a room inside for us to stay when we visit.
It is working out far cheaper than for us to purchase a house in the area.
Circumstances are different for every couple.

The exchange rate for baht is plummeting, now at 54 baht to each £ - it is likely to go down further with the political uncertainty, but you have also to weigh up the strength of the Euro which will effect the baht also.

I use Chrome with yahoo all the time with no problems at all. The new version of yahoo takes some getting used to but otherwise ok.

I made a Thai will through my local lawyer's office (English and Thai translation) both registered at the local Amphur office, as well as a UK will drafted by a UK lawyer with reference in it to my Thai will. The lawyer's fees in both cases relatively small when one considers the legality hoops your beneficiary has to go through after your death, especially in the UK.

I recommend Bangkok Bank and TMB - have accounts at both and their online services are great. I have a person at each Branch (Phra Khanong) who provides a personal service when I call in as well.

We were married in October 2013 and the supervisor was a lady who spoke English as did the lady who handled the documents. Your experience was clearly the opposite to ours with a new team in situ.
