  1. Hi, anyone know the actual total cost to change black leather seat in the new Honda civic? The lowest version 1.8L S version comes with dark grey fabric seat (stated in the honda brochure)so thought of changing it. And it also say come with BLACK front and rear mudguard. Anyone has a actual photo to show me? I'm really getting confused. What does it look like? Thanks..... Any recommendation for good and cheaper cost for the leather changing? :)

  2. Happy to help ... but we need to know your exact location?

Maybe when you are strolling through the Market here ... one might find your fancy.

So Soi number and house address and we are away and helping ... whistling.gif

First of all, thanks for your help. I'm not staying in Bkk but will go to laksi to settle my marriage cert and non-o visa. So it's would be best if it is near to it. :)

  3. Does anyone know is there a shop in Bkk selling Buddha statues/Hindu deity statue which people worship at the altar in their own house? Preferably with more designs. thanks

  4. Addendum:

Remember that when you have purchased your product, for map updates you need to register your product on: http://www.gpssociety.com/. You will need the serial number of your device. Annoyingly, the username and password length for this site are limited - choose a name no longer than 10 characters. Same for your password.

Use Firefox or IE to do the downloading, as the site warns that Safari and others may 'stop' downloading. Deactivate download accelerators as well. Instructions on how to update your device can be downloaded as a pdf file (zipped).

Once you have used your device you will want to back it up. I use Dropbox to do this, so that my Garmin information is available anywhere (literally) should my GPS be damaged or stolen. Getting back up to speed is then just a matter of transferring the backed-up files to your replacement Garmin device. If using a Mac, some of the Garmin folders (on both your device and in your back-up) will show as 'Invisible'. To perform subsequent back-ups, you may find that you need to first delete the old 'invisible' files from Dropbox, then transfer all files (including the 'invisible' ones, from your Garmin device to Dropbox. They will not transfer (i.e. overwrite your existing Dropbox back-up files) if the 'invisible' files are still sitting in your Dropbox folder (as a precautionary measure, Mac's won't let you overwrite critical 'invisible' files. They must first be removed).

Wow So details. I will check it out, thanks for your info

  5. Er... I find that bank exchange rate is not so good as the money exchange booth. Thought bringing cash is better.m

You're wrong. Transfer rates are significantly better than money exchange booths. Wholesale interbank rates are always better than retail rates given to punters and tourists.

I think Kasikorn Bank rate is very good for TT's and the charge is 500 Baht for each transaction. Very fast putting in your account too.

Bangkok Bank TT rate transfer from UK charge 200 Baht. Fast transfer in 24 hrs.

Is it?that great. I'm transferring to Bangkok bank acc. I will check it out the rate first

  6. Well, the usual practice is to give the Buddha statue to monks to pray and give blessing. But there are different type of statues so wondering is it will do just to ask the monk or the "white shirt" I don't know what the name.

I've never seen anyone in white shirts do any ceremonial stuff. But then again, I'm in the monastery at all hours of the day.

There are different statues according to the period of history, the country that made them, and then you have the 7 different postures for the days of the week, etc. But the truth is they're all of the Buddha, so they're all the same; though they may have different stories that accompany them.

Unless you really need it for personal comfort, if I were you I'd just be content with my reverence to the Buddha, which wouldn't be expanded or contracted by acquiring someone for its blessing. The real blessing comes from right practice and livelihood.

Remember at the end of the day, those of us who are Buddhist all bow down to the same Buddha.

    Yea.. U are right

  7. Why would you bring cash in the first place. Apart from the fear of theft or pillferage or losing the money, to bring the amount in travellers cheques is not only safer but you get a better exchange rate at most banks as well. So that is a considerably less stressfull way of carying money as you get full replacement of lost or stolen cheques.

Er... I find that bank exchange rate is not so good as the money exchange booth. Thought bringing cash is better.m

  8. Arrival upon swampy, anyone has been checked their luggage? My friends always go through smoothly. Perhaps I'm unlucky. The staff ask me to put through my bag to scan during my last trip to LOS. This time round I'm bringing 2 big bag with lots of stuff. Some Chinese dried food as well. Is it allow? And during scanning, does they really able to see our cash (I mean in the bag)? Has anyone got his cash confiscated because of the amount limit (did not declare) or other reasons. What is the outcome? Any true experience, would to share?

There is no limit on bringing cash into Thailand do why would it be confiscated? If you're worried about security simply wire it across.

Why make things difficult for yourself?

There is no limit but just need to declare. Just wondering is it safe to declare to the custom staff?if you know what I mean.

  9. When you marry abroad and also want to register the marriage in Thailand, you take your marriage license to your embassy to have it legalised by them. When that is done, yu have it trnaslated into Thai at a translation agency. Next you go to The Thai Foreign office, Cosular department in Laksi, who will legitimize the papers. When that is done you can go to any amphur in thailand and have the marriage registered at there.

When you have done that you ask for the khor rhor 22 form, it is this form that immigration wants to see for an extension of stay based on marriage and confirms that you are married.

    Got it. Thanks!

  10. I've sent you a pm, but from my information, if you buy it in July you can expect it next year.

    Ridiculous I know.

    Next year beginning?

I've been chasing up mine this week, as i've been getting a little peeved at the waiting time. My wife also rang Toyota and Mazda to enquire to see if we could get a Vios or Mazda2 any quicker. The waiting times for those we were quoted was beginning of July. That being the case, we might as well wait for the City, which was our first choice.

We also rang a different Honda dealer to the one we have ordered from, to see what they were saying. This is where I have the estimated delivery time of January if you order now. As for whether it is the beginning or end of January, take a guess, as yours will be as good as mine, and also theirs.

    Good luck......

    Ok. Thanks :)
