  1. Anyone know which has the latest most affordable online package or TV set box which can view the EPL and Spain league? I know nothing about this and will be good if people can provide me some info. Thanks a lot.

  2. There are really all kinds of people in TV. Always acting as if they know everything and really aware of everything just by judging from a TV post.

When a poster say about wife/gf family asking for money. All will start jump to the conclusion "they are bad, your this gf is sucks, blah blah blah"

Or when a OP start to ask a question which sounds stupid to others just because he don't have the answer and looking for better explaination. All the assassins will straight jump out attacking him with sarcastic replies,etc...

When the OP is interested knowing more about something, they start jump out accusing him as Paranoid.

    Zzz..... -_-"""""""

    Who are the real TRoLLS???

  3. i just love the paranoia on TV. at OP: if this is your "minset" while living here it might be better to move, no? i've been here for quite a few years and have never had any unpleasant encounters with bib. not once. no tea-money, no fine, nothing of all that. been taken out for dinner twice by this copper neighbour (thx!) and afterwards offered XXX dvd's as desert (no thx!)...

Good for you. Probably you have not encounter yet. :)

  4. Hi,anyone know what is the cost of the fiber water slider for home use? There should be different prices for different length and sizes right. Probably will be good enough to know the average price for between 6metres-8metres water sliders. Compare with the fiber water slider with the self-made cement type water slider. Which one is cheaper? I do not have the price knowledge for all these stuff, the metal steel to install the fiber water slider, price for the cement, etc. If someone here know all these stuff, probably can give me the best advice. what are the cons and pros?Any special thing to take note?? Probably a summary of total cost. Wanted to get for the kids and probably the adult can play together as well.

  5. "Retain" yourself the services of a "good" local Thai lawyer, get their business card and all their contact details and keep them in your phone, if in a "position" with authority, be polite to them and ask them to wait a moment while you call your lawyer, if they are up to anything dodgy they may back off, same thing will happen if you have contacts for a senior BiB or other "poo yai" in the area...

I guess I need to put some contacts in my phone
  6. It's the phitsunulok immigration. When u apply the so called marriage visa, they will visit your house to do a checking whether is it genuine. After the visit, they will process and approve the visa. I pay once and I already have doubts on this 500bht as there is nothing stated in the immigration regulations and no official receipt. But because they are the one handling my visa,I do not want quarrel with them for this 500bht and later make my visa difficult to get. But I'm thinking if the next time I renew my visa again, what can I do to avoid this 500bht if they ask again?

The proper terminology for it is an extension of stay based upon marriage. Not a non-o visa or marriage visa.

Yours is not the first report of this for your office. Five hundred baht is less than I have read about before. You probably did the right thing by paying it.

There will be no more visits. They are only done for the first extension.

Do u mean first extension is for the first year?? My understanding is they are still coming to visit My house during extension of the 2nd year?

I think they are asking again for this FEE

  7. Ah now we have it !

We are not talking about a "visa" !

It is very unlikely that the immigration visit will be repeated.Sorry I don't know did I mix it up??

When I apply for the marriage visa(non-immigrant O) officer need to come for checking on our house right??or not every case is the same?? Pls enlighten me,I quite confused. I pay the 500bht during when they vist into house.

  9. I have heard the real mafia in LOS is the BIB. But in the actual law,can we actually defend ourselves incase something goes wrong? Like example, are they allow to trespass people house without a house search warrant, arrest warrant or with higher authority given?? What is the correct sop for them?? At any point of time, what can we do to counter them?? Or we really can do nothing and just up to them??? Can they have physical contact with us??i mean we are not doing any crime and they try to be funny with us because they have the badges and they know people are scared of them. BiB=mafia .and they have physical contacts with us. What can we do to defend ourselves?? Any good advices to share

  10. I think you have to sell the land as the land department will only allow your name on the chanote as the administrator of the estate.if just a beneficiary they will decline to do so.( my actual experience).

take your time to go thru probate so as to allow you time to sort yourself out ( never rush) so the 1 year limit is flexible.

    Ok thanks
  11. I didn't buy any land for her. She got this land by transfer name from her parent. I just fork out some cash renovate the existing house in this land. I just wondering will I get hold of this land or partially if she has any mishap or we are divorce. By the way she has few siblings as well.

You will inherit 50% of the land.

Unless she makes a will stating different.

Ok so mean that it will automatically 50% goes to me if she has never make any will. Regardless who divorce who right? Once I hold the 50% of the land,I need to sell off within a year. Am I right to said that? But what if the scenario is I want to sell off my 50% of the land but the other 50% from her siblings do not want sell. What will be the outcome? Can I just proceed to sell off the land and claim my 50% share. Or is there any law stated if their 50% share do not want sell the land, there is nothing I can do. Pls advice me thanks
You get nothing on divorce, can only inherit.

They don't enforce the selling of inherited land.

(Well, I have no examples of such a thing happening)

Children under 20 years can't sell land they own, nor can anyone make them.

Ok so I can only inherit 50% share of the land if my wife pass away before me but not in divorce case, right? You mention they don't enforce the selling of inherited land which mean?? Can I proceed selling the land even the siblings disagree?

It's good to know more info regarding the Thai law for marriage people

  13. It depends on whether your wife has made a legally binding will. If so, the land will go to whoever she has bequeathed it to. If not, the intestacy laws kick in, and (assuming there are no children, parents or other siblings), half the estate will go to the sister and half to the husband. Then, either the sister could buy you out, or the land would have be sold within (as Mario wrote) one year, and you'd get half the proceeds.

Ayg - or someone who definitely knows - curious if you know what the actual intestacy order is - does it go parents first? And if so what happens if the parents are separated and or one of them deceased and there are children from a different father?
Inheritance of Thai wife personal property

Spouse gets 50%, other 50% divided in equal shares between the next highest level, parents only get if no children .....

    1 Children

    2 Parents

    3 Full Siblings

    4 Partial Siblings

    etc.

Absolutely nothing to stop a foreigner spouse inheriting.

In the case of foreigner spouse + his Thai children. No way in Thai law he can be forced to sell.

Not to be confused with inheritance of joint marital property where each spouse owns 50% of the assets.

In which case the inheritance only divides her 50%, so surviving spouse owns 50% + 25% = 75% of assets.

So a house bought using a home loan and paid off during the marriage, foreigner gets 75%, 25% divided.

@KevinLow, the question is who paid for the land and when?

If owned by her before your marriage, 50% for you.

If purchased after the marriage, and no money trail to prove 100% her money used, 75% for you.

I didn't buy any land for her. She got this land by transfer name from her parent. I just fork out some cash renovate the existing house in this land. I just wondering will I get hold of this land or partially if she has any mishap or we are divorce. By the way she has few siblings as well.

  14. The colour of the cable is nothing to do with it's current carrying capacity.

Your steamboats will draw about 6.3A each, working from that for each meter size available you could support the following:-

    5/15 meter = 2 steamboats

    15/45 meter = 7 steamboats

    30/100 meter = 15 steamboats

These figures would leave a little over for ancillary systems (lights, TV etc).

In reality it's unlikely that all the steamboats would be on full power at all times (they are thermostatically controlled), so you could safely support 20-25 on a 30/100 supply (but 20 on a 15/45 would be pushing the envelope).

PEA require the use of 35mm2 cable from a 30/100 meter or they won't connect permanent power (but confirm with your local office).

You need to arrange the electrics in your restaurant so that a maximum of 4 steamboats are on each 20A outlet circuit, if you upload a layout plan of the tables we can give an idea of how you need to go about wiring it all.

Hi, thanks for replying me. Right now the place is only supported with 5amp power supply. The guy said in order to support more than 20 steamboat need to upgrade from 5 amp to 30amp. He mentioned the black color cable grade 4 is ideally for the usage as the place need alot of wiring and it is better for safety purposes as well. So does it really matter? Or like you said, the cable is ok regardless white or blac. As long we have register to change our power supply 5amp to 30amp at the local electric supply office. We change the 30amp at the place and do all the wiring with normal cable is fine at all?? And every 2 steamboat is connected to 1 power plug socket. I think it should be fine.
