Tires for Honda ADV 160
Looking for tire suggestions for my new Honda ADV 160. Has stock tires on, looking to replace them. In the rain, the rear tire will lose traction, and the bike wants to slide, especially when I'm on at the petrol station where the have that coating on the cement.

New Honda Click 160 Shaking/Jerking
Place the bike on the center stand, and spin the wheels, they should spin free, and true. Next start the bike and apply throttle, there should be no vibration Sounds like either, tire pressure in incorrect loose, or damaged front wheel bearings front axle bolt , bent, or not the right toque head bolt for steering loose The problem is the front wheel is breaking contact with road, which is causing the issues. I used to race dirt bikes in the states, and the above will cause the issue you are having.

Bangkok Bank for expats
My friend, US expat opened a second bank account on Thursday at Bangkok Bank in Kanchanaburi, and had no issues. He has a existing bank account with them, but he needed a second account without a ATM for his US Social Security deposits. Took him maybe a hour if that.

Car ecu advise needed, not working
The ECU, will need to be programed with your cars vin, and other information. Think of it this way. You buy a brand new laptop, and then add your email. music, photos, etc. Same with with replacement ECU. Anyone can program it provided they have a higher end OBDII diagnostic scan tool, such a Autel brand. I recently did one for friend's car in Kanchanaburi, where I live.using my Autel scanner maxi elite tool. They sell Autel scanners here in Thailand, so I'm sure a higher end repair shop would have one. What makes them think the ECU is bad ? Was it tested ?

If you are retired, does it bother you that you will never be a Thai Permanent Resident?
No, I don't mind. Unlike the 90 percent here I love living here, no regrets at all. I retired in Kanchanaburi in 2018 , and have never had a issue ever. I would live no where else. Again from reading the posts here, 90 percent here are nothing but old age drama queens. Their are Miserable people, know matter where they live.

Bored of Bangkok... Any advice to an alternative place to live?
I'm an American expat living in Kanchanaburi. Love it here. Close enough to Bangkok, 2 hours if you need anything. Nice little expat bar area, low key, but fun. Plenty here to keep you busy, and the scenery . On costs, you can rent a nice 1 bedroom floor level apartment near the river for less than 100 Used per month. So yes, with your 1100 USD per month, you can live well, and put some aside for savings. Pm me if you have any questions.

Question on under 50 wife , getting a Non-O visa
Have American friends living here in Thailand. The husband is 62, and the American wife is under 50. The husband has his Non-O visa. From what we understand, the wife can get a Non-O visa based upon marriage . They filled out the paperwork online with Thai E visa , printed the forms out, and presented them to local immigration, as per the website. Local immigration said "no" you must apply outside the county. Anyone know the correct method ?

Concerns Mount Over Fate of 6 Thai Hostages Held by Hamas in Gaza
I have 99 percent feeling that on Jan 20th , they all will be released. The US will have REAL leader in office, not some old man that can't make it to the bathroom, yet alone run the US. Trump said there "will be hell to pay ", if the hostages are not released before Jan 20th. The man doesn't make idle threats.

Starter Motor.
You can test the amp draw of the starter while it's on the bike, with battery tester. The more amps it draws, the more it is going bad. I have battery tester, that not only tests the battery condition, but also the starter, and charging system. Easy and simple to use. Gives you good idea how much life is left in the starter. Bought mine from Amazon in the states, but have seen them Ladaza here in Thailand.

2 Yr Old Fino spluttering then stopping?
From my experience as aircraft mechanic, and racing dirt bikes, the first step is start with the basics 1, inspect the spark plug, it will give you excellent starting point, Compare the plug with the many charts on the web. 2, check compression, place your thumb over the spark plug hole and crank the engine. It should try and push your thumb off the hole. 3, check spark, inset the spark plug into the plug wire, and touch the plug to the engine, and crank the engine, A, cold engine should be blue\white spark B, warm engine, same color. If the spark is weak, or a yellow color, points to a ignition issue , CDI, spark plug wire, coil 4, inspect and if needed change both air, and fuel filter 5, check intake system for air leaks with the engine running, spray carb cleaner over the engine. If the engine speeds up, you have air leak. 6 , if fuel injected, remove the injector. crank the engine, a fine mist should spray out if carb, while the engine is hot, and running spray carb cleaner into the air filter , if the engine runs better, clean the carb. The above steps will point in the right direction to troubleshoot the issue. On the burnt smell, First step is clean the engine, and inspect for any leaking gaskets , especially near the exhaust system. Without seeing it or the plug, sounds like a ignition issue , coil, cdi , stator gets warm, and misfires

What is the combo method for a Non-O visa.
Thanks for all the replies. I will check with my local immigration office in Kanchanaburi to see exactly what they accept. My visa expires in Feb 2025. I will use the money in the bank method this time, and for 2026 use the income method. Have been using an agent but want to get away from that.

What is the combo method for a Non-O visa.
Can someone please explain the "combo method ", for getting a Non-o visa ? I know from internet searches, I need total of 800K baht in the Bank. So for example, if I had 6 months income from American Social Security at 65K per month, could I make the difference by money in the bank ? Of would need 12 straight months of deposits still ?

Check the IRS website, look under the US-Thai tax treaty. All your answers are right there. I'm an American expat and my US accountant , a former IRS agent and overseas tax advisor says I have nothing to worry about. You will be ok.
