  1. We know about the taxes and shipping costs, but I think we should all just admit it, the main reason is just pure greed. ie Lazada can sell a tin of corned beef for about 190Bt, that same sized tin though a different brand in Villa Market sells for 400Bt, not much different in the taste but as I have said, just pure greed.
  2. I have seen worst views than that, ie one with a huge boobed hairy chest. Sorry for going off topic but I could not resist that.
  3. and the band plays on.
  4. I only use Lazada if I cannot get anywhere else. Thouands over say about 12 years may amount to about 500Bt a year. Hardly missed. I am really just making a point about their cheating sellers, although I accept there may also be honest ones, but as I mentioned I am still waiting for nearly 4000Bt for a useless "refurbished" laptop.
  5. I have lost thousands over the years to cheating Lazada sellers, the most recent one about 4000Bt for a "refurbished" laptop. Still waiting for refund after about 8 weeks.
  6. As far as I know sim1 for calls and the internet. Nothing on sim2
  7. Yes, but why? How could that have happened?
  8. Yes that is the answer, but why did that no get on to my phone? Is Wise going to sim 2 when my proper phone no is on sim 1? That doesen't make sense to me, I will go and see AIS on Monday.
  9. Yes, I used sim 2 in the UK and when I got home the lady at AIS took it out at my request and replaced it with the original one, but she cancelled it and put it back, so I am using sim 1 for my calls and internet and sim 2 has nothing on it. When I phone anyone now ie my wife a different phone no to my own shows up on their phone.
  10. Why can't I recieve SMS messages on my phone except from AIS? I am trying to get on to Wise for a money transfer and after I sign in they want to send a code no by SMS to my phone, but it never arrives. Anyone know why. Could it be anything to do with my sim cards which one was used when I was recently in the UK?
  11. I got one of these blue ice blocks for keeping my food cold in a carrier bag confiscated at Glasgow Airport. No way is there 100mls of water in them.
  12. When I first came to live in Thailand, I knew about the 90 day reporting but all I had to do was travel about 200Ks to the border every 90 days, a nice peasant drive and day out. Compare that to now. It just shows you how things can change, and usually for the worst, particularly in this Banana Republic of Thailand.
  13. About 40% of UK state OAP's are not living at the same address they had when they applied for their state pensions. Does the DWP have enough staff to keep track of all that?
  14. I see your point, but you will have to keep changing your addresses every six months.
  15. DWP can not touch your state pension. Read the website.
  16. Name just one western country in the world who have a government which has no corruption and really does care for the working class. "Sir" Starmer perhaps?? HA! HA! HA! HA1 HA!
  17. I didn't know. are you calling me a fool??
  18. I never knew about the UK stealing money from OAP's living in Thailand by not giving them their annual increases until after I had moved here. So what is stupid about that?
  19. Well it is a computer.
  20. Seems to be working now thanks everyone.
  21. I tried a) and it seems to have worked. Thanks.
  22. I have already re recorded the tv shows that were on it on to my other hard drive so that's OK. a) I have done that and it seems to be OK. b) I am not computer literate enough to try this.
  23. Sorry, I don't understand your English or spelling. What is gparted, dmesg and the kernal mean although your windoze may be a typo?
  24. I bought a new all in one desktop about 18 months ago with Windows 11, the hard drive has worked well with this and also with my laptop, again with Windows 11. I was in the UK for three weeks recently with my laptop with me and they were working well together, now back home only 2 days and the problems have just started. I cannot think how that could have anything to do with it.
  25. I have had a Toshiba external hard drive and used it with no problems for many years. Now when I try to use it a notice comes up and says Windows does not recognise it. Does this mean I should now just throw it away, or is there any way I can get it working normally again?
