  1. Good luck with your health issues, wishing you a speedy recovery - and return.

All the best and hope your health problem will be sorted and you return to pattaya one day.

Your posts here was always spot on and not stupid/negative as many sadly are.

Best wishes, hope you can return one day and good luck with whatever lies ahead.

    Thanks, guys.

I will miss Thailand and the fun and games we can have here. But I really do hope to get back in the future. We cannot take too many chances where health is concerned and I'd much rather do my best now to make sure I am around for a lot more years of fun w00t.gif

  2. Wishing you a safe journey and quick recovery from your ailments.

You will be missed chum. Just get sorted and stay in touch if you can. thumbsup.gif.pagespeed.ce.dtxKiAJ9C7.gif alt=thumbsup.gif width=25 height=19>

    Thanks :)

    The sentiments are appreciated.

  3. I have been with them 2 years. No mention of invites either. Maybe for certain people only OR something to be careful of.

Not really a problem as I too am a member of the other site mentioned above as well as having fingers in certain other pies to get my tv / movies fix. After all, I cannot be on here all day and out drinking every night cheesy.gif

  4. She presented her passport to Police and confirmed she was very much alive and has been working in Pattaya as a waitress for more than 1 year.

Would never think that she works in the sex industry Where did she get the Chinese tablet from? Wasn't it for first graders?.=Nastrovie.-laugh.png

Would never think that she works in the sex industry

If she does, she cannot do to well; not exactly the prettiest lady I have ever seen.

You know what they say about the ugly ones ;)

  5. There were a lot of ToT men up ladders, working on the lines in Soi Khaotalo.

My connection was down for about 24 hours, from around 19:00 on Tuesday night. Even my land line phone was dead! I phoned the 1100 number on Wednesday morning - no information except that the 'fault' would be reported.

Up until a few days ago my connection had been remarkably stable with only the occasional drop-out. Now, however, it's rubbish - maybe six to eight drop-outs a day for several minutes each time. I can maybe understand why there are problems at busy times but, according to the log that my router generates, I have been getting disconnections in the small hours of the morning, when the various PCs on my intranet are all powered off. The router is powered on 24/7 and logs all network events. Mysterious - is all this down to ToT doing things in the middle of the night or do I just have a dodgy router I wonder?

    Thanks for that info.

My connection has been runnung at 900+ today.

  6. Here in central Pattaya (near Big C Extra on Central Rd) there's been no problem recently with my TOT connection.

Must have been in the Khao Talo are then as doctomann had a long outage too.

Men up ladders? Maybe someone caught the lines. There was some heavy machinery up the road recently.

Good to know it was not just me, not that I'd wish it on others, but we know TOT can be very unhelpful at times :)

  7. My TOT went down for almost 30 hours. Yet no mention of any problems here in the Pattaya section. Was it a localised problem?

I even spoke to a supervisor about it at TOT and it was not until the Thai lady phoned that I got the internet back. But still no explanations - as ever - as to what the problem was from TOT.

  8. I found out I couldn't rust my wife (American) after twenty years of marriage.

I think that trumps your neighbours behaviour.

    Trust is for suckers.

In the words of the immortal Mulder.

    Trust No One.

    22 for me.

But i feel we have to have some trust, though my deep trust is now earned and not simply given.

I'll give most people a chance in the first instance but if i am screwed once, you'll never do it to me again.

As for something like the OP..... I'd have wanted paperwork too. That sort of trust takes far too long to earn.

  9. I have been here for 34 years and I cannot count how many farangs I have met that lost everything to such stupid girls, they lost their house, car, money, property etc... Now can you tell me who cannot count, the girls or those men?

I have met plenty of expats who have told me stories about guys losing everything to "such stupid" girls but I have never actually met anyone to whom this has actually happened.

    I have. sad.png

Me too. We call him Grumpy XXX because he is these days after losing the lot.

  10. Always try sell your car privately, check one/two cars for the price of your car and take it from there.

The tents and 2hand car dealers obviously have to earn money too so that is not the way to go unless you are desperate.

I also got some 45k baht more for my car when I sold it privately compared to the offers I got from the dealers, even at the Ford dealer where I bought a new truck.

Yamaha Fino sold privately recently for 18.5k baht, offer from 2 dealers (buying a new bike as well) 15k baht and 13k baht.

As I said to David's post.

I no longer have the time to wait. Add to that, if I was staying (or not going for so long) I'd not part with it.

  11. Out of curiosity ... what are you selling?

I'm sure it's been maintained to the Service manual specs?

    Price ... ?

I'm selling the 5 door LPG / Petrol Seat cordoba (basically a VW car) because I have to go to the UK for 6 months or longer. I'll have nowhere to keep the car for that length of time as I am giving up the house lease that is due for renewal soon.

Had it advertised on Thai Visa originally at 90K (30 less than I paid last year) but have decided I'm willing to let it go for 50K.

Have to admit if I do not get that, I'll give it to a friend. Rather that5 than take any less.

Tidy car. Runs great too but little interest. If I had more time I'd be patient and hold out. But now I do not have the time.

I have stacks of paperwork for it, mostly in Thai so hard to read :P

  12. Under 600 Baht for cordless / wifif headphones and base unit bought in Thailand over 3 years ago and still working.

Base unit plugs into the tv and transmits to the headphones. I use rechargable batteries AAA size (4 of).

They will pick up Thai radio too.

You can also plug in headphones through a jack.

Available in many computer shops here.

Quality sound? I would not know as I am deaf on one side but they do work fine. I listen to the tv / music as I wander about the house making coffee or whatever.
