  1. I too had the same problems as the OP with many relationships here over the years. Always trying some angle or another, be it financial or general scheming. Deceit? Plenty of them know all about that. Not one worked in a bar but these ladies knew how to work a man and that is why they were all dumped eventually.

It took me a a long time to find a really good one.

    33 years old.

The only twin I've ever met in my life (she has a twin sister).

Caring, attentive. Full on the lips kisses. Snuggled up in bed every night. Holding hands everywhere even in the house.

    Great with my friends.

    Able to laugh and joke.

    Good financially.

She has a good hearted family too.

Treated me with great care especially with any health problems.

    A good homemaker too.

Problems? Yes, she has a few. Especially her 'hot heart' that created some problems but nothing that could not be resolved. None of us are perfect.

She was a great lady. Sadly and with a heavy heart, I have to leave her behind.

This one I would have married and coming from me, that is a great compliment to her.

If she finds another man, I sincerely hope he appreciates how good she is and what a great heart she has too.

  2. Am i alone in not trusting cloud storage?

Who controls it, who reads it. Will they charge you to access/transfer it. Will they restrict access or delete data?

I control all my data myself. Storage is cheap now.

Shared site says benefit of paid version is "forever storage"....does that mean the free version deletes files after some period??

Not cloud storage but I had some stuff stored online before that I wanted kept away from certain prying eyes.

One day without warning the whole content disappeared when the site went offline.

Would I trust online storage again? No.

    But each to their own.

  3. Your girlfriend was quite lucky. I know of several stories where motorcyclists have been involved in an accidents and the offender has 'finished off the job' to avoid the risk of having to pay compensation.

Not sure if Stories is the correct description, I think hoax would be better fiiting.

No. They may not happen in Pattaya but there have been several incidents in the boonies.

So if it's common knowledge that those incidents happened, I may assume that the offenders have been jailed for murder with intend?

It does happen though, JBrain, sadly. Especially with large trucks.

I too have known that happen.

To the OP, I would definitely want proof that all her stuff was stolen.

I have heard better stories than this one though and they do do the rounds. They think it is original and they try it on. If it fails they have lost nothing. If it works they know they have someone who'll believe these stories and keep new stories coming.

  4. I don't know a lot about long tail boats but I would imagine that any old air cooled motorbike engine

could be easily adapted to mount on a boat as they do here.

I also think there must be hundreds of second hand m/bike shops or scrapyards in UK where you could

probably purchase aforementioned engine quite cheaply.

I would hazard a guess that that is exactly how long tail boats came about in Thailand???

I recall some years ago seeing one with an old morris minor engine mounted up radiator and all on a

fishing boat. ( gold seal it was, some of the older guys will know what I am talking about )

    thumbsup.gifwai.gif

I had a Salmon Coble with a Moggy 1000 engine in it. Marinised too.

    Long time ago...... 1980's ?

Aye, lad, them were the days.

  5. Met a few parents at different times with different women.

I've NEVER been asked for a satang whilst visiting though the odd trip out to a restaurant might count. But a meal out can tell you a lot about the parents / 'family' by what they order.

As I have said on tv in the past it has always been the woman who f*cks things up, not the parents where I am concerned. I've met some great parents in the past.

Yet there was that case earlier this year where some foreigner went to the village to get married to a Thai lady. My long term g/f family were disgusted because she had a Thai husband already. He was expecting a regular supply of money coming in.

    Another guy I actually know - we'll call him J -.

He bought the house in Issan. Had a child. As soon as everything was paid for he got kicked out. Now he struggles by on his pension every month. Turned him into a very bitter and twisted person. Will not buy any Thai woman a drink now.

The list goes on and on, sadly.

So many people have lost their money and you can tell others until you are blue in the face and they will not believe that that sweet, sexy, smiling little Thai 'angel' would rip them off and rip their heart apart too with barely a second thought.

cheesy.gif At the guy having his new found love so unhappy with him already. Best of to him, he might well need it.

  6. I do not eat out much, with the pair of us sharing cooking at home, so any 'eating-outs' is a splurge.

Thick, juicy gammon steak with peneapple, eggs, chips, veggies and a small side salad. Delicious. Usually eaten at the Shagwell on Soi Arunothai. Clean, friendly, plenty of fans to keep the air moving. Sport on lots of tv screens too. Abt 160 Baht (went up recently).

Best of all I love Roast Beef n Yorkshire pudding. With mashed tatties, roast tatties, veggies, gravy and horseradish sauce. At 18 coins, Soi Buakhao. Good service, people watching from the right table. Plenty of fans to keep you cool. Not expensive but cannot remember how much.

Can I list a 3rd? Christmas Dinner with all the trimmings including xmas pud !! Only ever had it once in over 7 Christmases here.

^^^ sad, but I eat out so little laugh.png

    Now I'm hungry :(

  7. Westerners want to be westerners in Thailand, for the most part.

Very few westerners even want to become Thai citizens, and for those that do, it is VERY difficult. Very small numbers.

If you asked most western expats in Thailand would they want to be reborn as Thai or western, I reckon the vast majority would say western.

Or maybe they would say no. To shuffle off this mortal coil one time is surely purgatory enough for anyone.

Yeah, yeah, assuming you would have to be reborn at all (if so, hopefully a HUMAN please!).

    Or a Rabbit.

    Ayebutye'dwanttaeplay safe an'stickwi' the cheesesandwiches.

    Ye'd no'want tae git the mixin'matoasties

Unless they are cheese n ham

  8. Finally I wonder if the guy near the highway (ZACK ?) is good ? Someone said that he almost killed him with an incorrect brakes maintenance.

A good one is on TEPPRASIT road on the left on the first half of the road when you come from TAPPRAYA road.

That might have been me clap2.gif

Drove the car under the rear of a 6 wheeler truck maybe 2 days after the brakes had been serviced. Car a write off, me very nearly.

Not much fun hurtling under the back of a truck whistling.gif

Do as the Thai do, watch every move a mechanic makes. Too often if you leave them to it, they do what they want to the car, sadly.

  9. 1800 being USA free phone (toll free) number?

    0800 is UK freephone number.

Others might know better for the USA itself but CAT telecom cards will call a UK freephone number. They charge a minimal amount.

May be the same with the USA. IF you get no better info it might be worth a try.
