The purchase was illegal to begin with since (1) by law requires a prescription and (2) the vendor was nto a licensed pharmacy. Mailing it to yourself per se is not illegal but if the contents got any scrutiny the above 2 factors might cause a problem.

IF a special card can be obtained would be worth having and keeping in your wallet at all times IMO in case you are in an emergency and need to be hospitalized elsewhere under the "72 hour emergency" scheme as they otherwise tend to assume foreigners are not covered by SS.
