  1. The wheel's seem to be an option. As they have now got them in there extra's catalogue, at 11000 bt each. Good game A.

There is a full TD option pack for any Fortuner, but like i said, i am talking about someone saying there will be a Fortuner Sportivo lll (3) out come October ?

Apparently the Sportivo ll (2) is now sold out ? Also talk about going to the 2.5 litre engine only ?

  2. She IS mine :):D

Bloody Lovely 500 BHP V10 If i was in UK then i would have one for sure, But here !!! A little out of my Budget :D

The Car i wish i had bought was one that was a direct rival to the M5, Still looks good now !!!

    Vauxhall Lotus Carlton.

"Taken From a Web Site Report"

Subtle or not, the Lotus Carlton had a definite bad-boy look to it. Like biceps rippling beneath a tuxedo, the performance potential permeated to the car's surface and created a face that was equal parts sophisticated and sinister.

To create the muscle bulging beneath the Carlton's skin, Lotus stroked the car's engine to 3.6-liters. Two Garret T25 turbochargers were added, and the result was a 213% power increase. The Carlton 3000 GSi engine, a hearty family car mill in its day with 177hp, had its output jacked to 377hp in Lotus tune. Now that a BMW M3 has 414hp, the number 377

Doesnt seem quite as impressive. The Lotus Carlton, though, was around almost twenty years ago when plenty of families thought their 110hp Mazdas were quick for sedans.

At 3,600lbs, the Lotus Carlton was no lightweight. Yet its manic power still delivered an impressive power-to-weight ratio that was good for some impressive figures. In 4.8 seconds, 60mph had arrived. The official top speed was given as 176mph. That kind of speed was unbelievable for a sedan built during the Lotus Carlton's 1990-1993 lifespan.

Don't forget that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. Sure enough, the Lotus Carlton's claimed top speed was something of a hoax. Real-life testing revealed some substantially different numbers. Try 186mph.

The fastest production car of the Carlton's era was the Ferrari F40. It could hit 202mph. It could also attract law enforcement agencies

From bordering nations through its trumpeted exhaust, and arrest all local attention with its race car looks and mammoth rear spoiler. The Lotus Carlton lost a paltry 14mph to the Ferrari, and made up for it with a cabin that could seat a driver and a few friends within a cocoon of elegant British ambiance as time and space were warped into the English

Countryside. A new Lotus Carlton was 48,000 British pounds, a price that translates to about $120,000 now. The cost was inordinately high for a Vauxhall, and even the low sales goal of 1,100 was not met. The total count came to just 950 cars. Of those, 630 were sold in markets

Where the Vauxhall Carlton was called the Opel Omega. Accordingly, those vehicles were marketed as Lotus Omegas. Only 320 were actually sold with Lotus Carlton badging, but the Lotus Carlton's catchier name has led to its label being used widely in reference to the

Lotus Carlton/Omega vehicles. There's another name for the Carlton, too. Lotus was so involved with the project; they gave the car their own designation of Type 104.

The Lotus Carlton was a lethal combination of mild looks and wild performance, and a great example of one of GM Europe's excellent machines that never reached the Unites States. Whether

Chauffeuring the whole family for an afternoon outing or destroying Porsches on the freeway, the Lotus Carlton operated under the unsuspicious banner of prim and proper potency.

  3. I find it sad when reading a thread such as this that when someone follows all the rules and does everything exactly as the Thai rules require them to do, that it comes down to a government officials interpretation of the Law as they see it that day, or just how they feel that day !

I can understand and agree with the governments wish to get rid of “Inappropriate Guests” that reside and stay here in Thailand, but all the rules they make, and apply, catch others who reside here legally and beneficially to the economy of Thailand, but as always, we are second class citizens not wanted here in this country by many Thais who look down on us.

If only they could see themselves as the rest of the world see them!! They can never move forward and achieve anything until they get rid of the corruption and bias that continues to be rooted within all legal departments.

You only have to look at daily happenings here in Thailand to see how just about everything is so screwed up.

I don’t want to get into any debate about living here in Thailand, you make your own choices, and it works for me at the moment, but it is far from ideal on so many different levels.

I just find it very Sad.

  4. Any updates on this mod ?

I hesitate between doing the "cut it myself" mod, the 8000B official box or the 2000 B made in Chiang Mai box.

Any real difference between these 3 mods ?

    thanks for your help

Bite the bullet get your wire cutters out spend 5 mins and its all done, no worries hassle free performance derestriction, i am still very happy with mine

  5. At HomeWorks on S. Suk there is a place near the back for a company they work with that does gates, patio covers, water purifiers, etc. Can't remember the name, but walk in the front door, head to the right, all the way to the back. It will be a display right there on your left before you hit the end. They even have a gate opener on display there. Have not used them, but may in the future.

Thankyou, will go and check it out

    Cheers

  7. For most people with a truck that is still under warranty this will be a non starter. That's why I am looking at bringing in plug and play units from the UK. Easily fitted, therefore easily removed with no trace should you have warranty issues. Very well known brand (probably the best) and can supply unit for most of the trucks here in Thailand. Comes with 4 pre-calibrated maps, but also you can 'play' with the settings if you desire. Prices that i've been quoted here from tuners/suppliers are almost double what you would pay in the UK. For pricing etc send me a private mail.

    Regards,

    Stewart

I am about to sell my Fortuner and buy a different Car, I have the Racechip Pro version Chip which was only used for about 3 weeks while i was home (Very easy to fit and disconnect) The performance increase is impressive as you have read here already, Took it off the car before i went back to work as my Mrs did not like the extra power !!

This fits without ANY alteration to anything !! Take it off just as easy, no wires to cut nothing !! 100% removeable and nothing changed.

This chip is as new with all packaging instructions etc and will fit all fortuner 3 D Models.

11,000 Baht only ready and waiting here in Pattaya, PM Me for details

Check out their website at racechip DOT de for all the tech info

  8. Unfortunately we still don't know if this was the result of road rage or some other dispute...

Whatever the dispute, to be gunned down in broad daylight at a busy intersection is beyond words. Absolutely outrageous. Add this one to the Kanchaburi and Pai shootings and you've really got to wonder what kind of society Thailand has.

    RIP Herr Schuller.

The Kind of Society that does not think or rationalise, just reacts.

  9. Definitely a nice high performance setup. Swap the video card with a GeForce GTX 295 (though need to mortgage the house) and not much it can't run well.

Actually the Video Card is the only thing that was not new, He was going to use that again, all the other Parts are all in their retail packaging and only delivered a month ago.

So you think to upgrade tha Video Card to GeForce GTX 295 ? Guessing thats expensive from the way you quote, i do not mind going to Tukcom and buying a better Vid Card, but no mortgage !! Cant really think of a Budget, but maybe Max 10,000, as have to go there to Buy a Case for this, having said that, i dont ever play games on Computers so maybe that Card would be fine ?

    Cheers

  10. I have just been given (Yes Given, Person Deceased) some Desktop parts, they are:

    TAGAN Series BZ900 Power Supply

ASUS Crosshair III Formula AMD 790FX

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz (Socket AM3)

    Corsair XMS3 DHX 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600C9DHX Twin3X (TW3X4G1600C9DHX)

    Corsair H50 High-Performance CPU Watercooler (Socket LGA775/1366)

HIS ATI Radeon HD 4850 IceQ 4 Turbo 512MB GDDR3

    All Brand New

Would these parts make a really good high end Desktop ??

  11. Not sure, will get it in the Study and plug it in and see, it has a serial port i know, but also many more, so will see what it looks like, thanks for your input

Perhaps post the model number and let us give it a shot as to what it can do. A serial port? :D

Sorry, a PC In Port same as back of your computer where you plug Monitor in :) before the digital ports

    its a Samsung LCD 32 LA32A450C1

  12. Is it a realistic option just to use a Samsung 32" LCD TV as a Monitor ? They have the connections on the back now that you can hook up to your PC

A few things to consider. Does it have VGA, DVI or HDMI inputs on the TV or only Composite/S-Video? If S-Video, then you need a video card that supports it but the quality will be quite poor compared to the VGA/DVI options. The native resolution of the LCD TV, is it high enough to give a proper image, specifically text? If it is only 1024x920 (assuming wide screen) and that large a screen you may be disappointed.

Not sure, will get it in the Study and plug it in and see, it has a serial port i know, but also many more, so will see what it looks like, thanks for your input

  13. Is it a realistic option just to use a Samsung 32" LCD TV as a Monitor ? They have the connections on the back now that you can hook up to your PC

Just asking as wanted tp upgrade TVs in the House and this 32" New TV would be spare, so thought about the idea of using it with the Comp

    Thoughts Please ?

  14. UK is one year, not three months.

I beg to differ. 3 months internationally, and the UK is no different. Been there done that :) Check out the small print on an IDP

Nope you are definitely wrong. Any license is valid in the UK for one year, even without an IDP.

Well stupid UK then for allowing these ******** to drive on a Thai Licence that they Probably bought for a few baht !! Should be interesting watching them in Heavy Traffic :D
