(Reminder to anyone coming into Singapore = == = you are allowed to being in 0 zero nil cigarettes)
Sling, I knew that arriving passengers couldn't buy Smokes duty free at SIN to take in, but are you suggesting that Smokes bought elsewhere are not allowed through customs either?

I want to hire a car from Udon Thani airport for a few days but all the online dealers do not seem to respond, I would want a car with gps if possible and would like (if possible ) at the end of my few days/week for them to pick the car up from me (not absolutely necessary ), or has anyone got any other ideas. (I arrive in Udon Thani 9/11/2006 at about 8ish I think).
Thanks Steve
Steve I've never had ANY trouble booking through Budget or Avis in Thailand, online.
Budget operate out of UTH airport for sure @ http://www.budget.com/budgetWeb/home/home.ex.
If you take ALL the insurance extra's, you are looking at about 1350 baht per day (for 7 days) for a 2 door Toyota Ute. They're perfect for 2 people, (and can fit at least 12 monks in the back).

The cheapest I've got so far is KLM at £123 return. Anyone know of any other airlines that are worth a try?
Thanks.
I'm taking the same KLM flight, flying biz, which is about double (230 GBP), and still great value. I had a good look around first, and even priced a flight via Singapore with Jetstar... it worked out more expensive, and a lot more stuffing around.
Really though, for a 3.5 hour flight, 60 quid each way is hard to complain about.

I (used to) bring in at least 100 cigars, which is probably double the allowence. I have never been checked or even copped a sideways glance from Thai customs.
This is a good wake up call that it may take some months, or even years for thai officialdom to recede back into it's apparently lazy & carefree depths.

Perhaps you should email these very good pictures to Novotel, and ask the to CLEAN THEIR FILTHY WINDOWS!!!

Minimum age raised to 25 for buyers of booze
BANGKOK: -- Health authorities have stepped up measures to curb alcohol consumption among youth by moving up the minimum legal age of buyers from 18 to 25 years.
No mention of lifting the Age for DRINKING booze?
I can see a tidy racket developing for personal booze buyers, there'll be one outside every 7-11 available for a small fee...

Looks like you've given this a bit of thought, and have a flair for spending.
What message does this suggested Nationalisation send to investors world-wide?
Will there be enough investment/money coming in afterwards to fund your sample of projects in the long term?
I'd be interested to learn more about the subject.

Local crims should just be thankful they only stole cash & passports from these aussies, there'd be carnage if they'd emptied the beer fridges as well

be prepared for an intense and personal body search.
Sounds kinky

Last time I went it was Dragon Air, which was fine, although I understand that they no longer fly out of bkk.
As suggested here a dozen times before, if it's all about the cost factor, then fly BKK - MFM (Macau) on Asia Air for about US$ 50 o/w, and then catch a $10 ferry to Honkers.
-
Now THAT was funny, but yeah, fair enough, ...
if you fork out for biz class, they should kiss your arse and not subject you to the economy carry-on massage from the rabble in the cheap seats as they trample the shag-pile.

Making light of it re. 'leaving the old bag at home'' reminds me of the old one about;- "pilots overnight bags".
The pilots wont have any trouble if they travel light and their "overnight bags" in most cases are very, very attractive. Suay mak mak.
Brother, is that REALLY you? tsk tsk tsk

It's classy.

c'mon, call a spade a shovel why don't cha!
-
saranagon, did you fly on with Thai air from bkk to London?
If so that would explain the extra help.
I'm doing the same trip with Thai air, KKC - BKK allowing less then 2 hours to make a connection with Jetstar to Singapore.
Fingers crossed.

I highly recommend Nok Plus @ +500 baht for business "style" seating... great if you have a wide arse like me, but the leg room isn't business class...
You might even do better for leg room by taking an exit-row seat in economy.
quick edit: I failed to secure the seats I wanted with Nok because of the International Credit card drama's they're having. I don't jump through hoops for service providers, and that's what's expected to book and pay with Nok. (For the time being at least, until they can devise a more secure credit card processing facility.)
I still love the price of Domestic Biz Class with thai air... they got all my business again this time.

Thanks you guys, very helpful, seems it might grow in popularity then, given its proximity to Suvarnabhumi, depending on it's rooms & service.
I would still love to get some feedback from anyone who has stayed here in recent years.
It seems you can find a review on every other hotel in Thailand, but not this one.

Hi all,
RE: Grand Inn Come hotel Bangkok
99 Moo 6. Kingkaew Rd. Rachataeva, Bangplee,
Samuthprakarn, 10540 Thailand
Could someone give me an approximate distance (in minutes, by taxi) from this hotel to the new Suvarnabhumi Int. Airport please?
Does anyone have any "major" issues with this hotel worth sharing?
Thanks in advance

Hi -
Sorry just signed on but hope this can you or others for now or the future. Drive to Pattaya with car or van. I use this company all the time and they quite good. 0817616455. Been using these guys for years and they cheap and reliable!
Hi Flight, does this company have a name? Is the car rate comparable to a metered taxi @ 1000 baht?

Most of these women are over 18, but he says that young teenage girls walk the streets looking for customers, while underage boys are offered up as 'masseuses'.
I along with 99.9% of people abhor paedophilia, but I personally have never seen it being touted around the streets of Pattaya.
I would love somebody to take one of these NGO spokesmen to task about showing evidence when making statements like this. If they could actually provide evidence I am sure the police would arrest the perpretrators and the problem would cease to exist, and the reputation of Pattaya would eventually improve also.
But unfortunately these people never actually seem to be very good at providing evidence, just good stories.
I guess the difference is that the NGO's go "looking" for this type of activity, where-as you, fortunately do not.

Actually, I do remember that the seat I was sitting in had a thread missing in it. It made me so furious that I will never fly with them again
Perhaps with the wit (or lack thereof), this thread should also go missing.
Huge Fines On Arrival
in Suvarnabhumi Airport Forum

I'm a bit shocked TBH, this is news to me... I've visited Singapore a few times now, and I've never been observant enough at the airport to learn this vital info for myself. I already knew they wouldn't sell me cigars on arrival, but didn't realise I was breaking the law by
smuggling
a dozen cigars bought "elsewhere" into Singapore-lah. ![:D](//forum.thaivisa.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png)
