    Rorri,

I agree with you, that it is encouraging that ordinary Thais should now be questioning their "betters" for answers when the suspicion of injustices like this occur.

However, I can't see anyone at the top championing reform on these issues - that would upset the long-established status quo!

Rather than any trickle down from above, I suggest reform on injustice in Thailand will need to come as an upwelling from below.

Sadly I agree, the problem being, any  upwelling, from below, tends to become violent, as those above try to stop it.

It's funny I know farangs and Thais who think that Thaksin really cared about the country.  The most ironic thing is that the guy who said he was fighting for the poor Isaan Thais was taking money hand over fist with his top up plans.  He took far more than he ever gave back.

Um, this is about AIS and 7/11, let's not turn it into another Shin bashing session, I'm getting sick of it, you guys spoil the actual topic.

Read the charter ...and coups do take place in some countries due to corrupt regimes  or are you insinuating / referringto the current temporary leadership which I openly support?

Not talking about "other" countries, so why bring them up, and I am NOT insinuating anything, in fact, declaring it, I can't help if you support coups, that is your problem, if there were no coups, then Thailand might have a chances to understand democracy and have a more stable government, this can NOT happen if, on a 4 year average, the military holds another coup... but hey, I guess that is too hard for you to understand.

"Selling" political positions - would that include allowing your non elected criminal brother to run the government, select and regularly reshuffle the cabinet, bring his mates back in when their 5 year corruption bans end etc etc etc.

Let's not pretend its all one sided.

And your point is? It seems to have nothing to do with my comment, but I guess you just had to throw a Shin comment in.

YouTube is dangerous and vile. Anyone can upload any kind of video propaganda and anything goes on that not monitored for inappropriate or offensive content site. The comments section is full of angry, politically bias, racist, and homophobic trolls. There is something specifically about that website that attracts this kind of ignorance and intolerance.

I would like to see YouTube completely closed down because I categorise it as the dark side of the Internet.

Seems you have issues, and a very narrow minded view, best you ban yourself from using the internet. If you seek, you will find.... the hint for you is, DON'T seek.

In the video you see a movable speed bollard  sign on the left protruding out from the shoulder of the access way,

1 )  The driver of the camera vehicle is traveling slower than the van , so that driver never used his mirror to see what was happening behind him / her , (courtesy to other road users , not here)

    2) The driver of the silver car  could not judge distance  could not look ahead when he she sees the bollard coming up , their reaction to distance travelled towards the bollard causes them to panic and veer right into the van,

    3) Van driver was also not using his  / her mirrors to see what was around them, no attempt by the mini van to apply the brake unless the brake lights were not working,

All round a typical day driving in Thailand skill set and use of mirrors not evident, no idea to look ahead or behind

Unless reversing, or changing lanes, you are not responsible for what is happening behind you, also this overtaking on the left, so many people do not understand it, you must not overtake, on the left, if you are in the same lane, unless the vehicle in front is turning right, if a multilane road you can overtake in the left lane, simple really, just think about it.

Any comments on the role of the camera car hogging the right-hand lane in the lead up to the accident?

Would the outcome have been any different if the camera car had been in the left hand lane so the van didn't have to pass him on the left?

If that had been the case the silver car would have been passing the van whilst still on the tarmac.

We will never know, we were not there, so why jump to any conclusions.

"Thailand seems to be striving to be a world leader in this aspect". If I were planning to become a citizen of the UK or visit, say, Australia I'd be much. much more worried about those governments' demand for "biometric data". Fingerprints and eye scans are now mandatory - that's way more intrusive than some Third World country trying to monitor the drivel most people utter when chatting online. I'd be looking at Apple's iMessage or the Telegram App if I wanted some secure, subversive chat.

Strange comparison, your reference to biometric data etc is simply to prove identity.... what are you hiding/running from?

Wasn't that done by a contractor, albeit paid by the FBI?

The FBI had a one-time use court order to access a specific phone call data so wasn't it legal?

You must remember, it was to get information, from the phone, not "monitor" what is being sent and received over a network "live," very different to what the thai dictatorial government wants.

    No,

Someone has lost the plot, that's true, but it ain't me.

I've added nothing to your comment, just offered a different perspective why things might be becoming more relaxed.

Something you seem inexplicably offended by.

PS: I'm not your mate, nor would I want to be.

Your "perspective" had NOTHING to do with my comment, so why comment, you could have simply made a comment.

Oh you seem to have missed the sarcasm in my use of "mate," but then, that doesn't surprise me.

" I don't disagree with the lifting of restriction." cannot be construed as you not agreeing with the imposition of restrictions in the first place, as you are now trying to infer.   However, I can't be bothered arguing any further over semantics.

That God! I was getting tired debating an issue where you read into a comment what you want to read. Geez, some people just want to argue over anything, no matter how ridiculous, this who gist, on my comment, was baht v respect, and you decide to take it somewhere else... grow up, no wonder the world is a mess, with people like you around.

and my comment was on respect v baht v feeding your family.

Which do you think is most pertinent to many?

OMG, you comment on my comment, then add something else, then use that to criticize me... I'd like to call you an i#@*t, but am not allowed to, surely you can see how ridiculous you seem.

    Mate, you've lost the plot!
