Those damn double negatives got me again. But your first statement did not infer that the restrictions should not have been imposed in the first place.
I thought this part of my comment made it reasonably clear " I don't disagree with the lifting of restriction."

Wrong. People need to be allowed to make their living and support their families. It has nothing to do with respect or disrespect.
Why were restrictions place in the first place. I don't think you understood my comment.

Exactly how is earning a living or enjoying oneself a sign of disrespect?

Did you actually understand my comment, I think not.

IMHO I disagree that the baht wins. Respect is something that is earned not given, and the King has definitely earned that respect not only by Thai's but many others worldwide including me. But that respect is in one's heart and how a person shows that respect should be that person's choice and not mandated by others. I don't think that closing businesses and putting people out of work so that their entire family suffers is how someone that earned that respect would want it shown.
I think you missed my point, as the original closures/suspensions etc, were to show respect. I agree, respect is in ones heart, but we have seen many instances where even the colour of your clothes can get you into trouble.

I don't disagree with the lifting of restrictions, but, it does show when it comes to baht v respect, baht wins.

There is stated a fact and you need to tell me you don't believe it, what else do you want me to say?
Do you actually know how long 200 metres is? Then believe a light weight bike, will slide that distance, I know the car was probably exceeding the speed limit, but hey, not enough to send a bike that far, I suspect a little "journalist licence" taking place, but hey, even if you don't agree, there's no reason to have a 3 word comment, saying bugger all. Perhaps an intelligent debate, but no, 3 lousy words.
As for a "stated fact" just where is this "fact," was it actually measured, or simply guessed.
Fact definition: a thing that is known or proved to be true.

It sure is, and thanks for your 3 words of wisdom . Must have taken some effort to come up with them, well done.

If the motorcycle was hit and then found 200 meters away , you can safely state that the driver was speeding (and quite a bit too).
I find it hard to believe the 200 metres is accurate.

If you say something is hot you have a benchmark to compare it with. now if you say Thai cops are triggerhappy you need to have a benchmark .. what did you use to compare them with. If you said these Thai cops were triggerhappy compared to those others.. but you did not say that you made it about nationality. So then you have to compare them with others.
Rubbish, you only end to read the news reports and "understand" just how often the thaiway police start shooting, when it really isn't necessary, there are many non lethal means to stop people. You are simply trying to justify your comment.... are you suggesting my comment is incorrect, ie thai police are quick to shoot. No need compare with any other country.

But I do.. so tough luck for your rats ass. On a public forum you will encounter people who have other ideas'.
True, some ideas are way off point, guess ass', rats or the otherwise , can have their say. Nice if intelligent ideas actually had something to do with the comments they reply to.

Its just putting things in perspective.. USA is nr 1for cops shooting people even a country like Thailand does not even get close.
"Perspective" has nothing to do with what happens in Thailand, my comment was about what happens in Thailand, I don't give a rats about any other country, pure and simple.

I don't think that is what he is on able, you do understand the concept of right and wrong. There has been no court case. Your attitude is as bad as the junta's.

This isn't about "America" or any other country, why is it so hard for some people to stay on subject?

Thai cops do seem to be gun happy. Bit scary really.

Well, I'm relieved that looking to Isaan to solve their traffic woes, doesn't mean sending all the girls back to their home provinces.
Yes, BUT, they are looking at a "model" that not only hasn't been built, but hasn't even be fully planned. Thailand doesn't have the expertise for large scale traffic planning/management, they wouldn't have the foggiest idea of how much traffic is flowing, never mind anything else.

Hope they cleared the touts.
Reminds me of a couple of years ago, when they entered a few establishments, then some time later, invited reporters in, then pronounced no ping pong shows, or any other illegal activity was in the area.

There seems to be one about every 2 weeks.. is there a department somewhere churning out these stories?
I might be wrong, but I think there is. These "stories" pop up far too often. Call me a cynic but hey! Not once have we had the media follow up, and ask any of the tourists, if the story is true. And hey, just look at the "taxi" driver, one would think he'd be just a little happy, about receiving 35,000 baht. Land of the Fakes, to me, this could be another one.

November 18 marks 38 days, after the kings death, seems Thailand runs on a different calendar, to most of us.

Your words, not mine... no way did I allude to it being right, but hey same same, in many countries, even communists, it's been happening since man came down from the trees. Get over it, your whining will not fix it.

It's a good thing the corrupt are being stripped of their assets. First time the people in the Kingdom can see that bad leaders cannot get away with their plunder. Now hope this fight will get followup to lower levels as well. It's a start, nothing more than that.
If the bad guy in Dubai manages to make a comeback, lil sis no doubt will be compensated with plenty of money from the national treasury. But, if in the now unclear future the military can prevent return to power by the shinaclan, then real progress will have been made. It would be an important step on the long, long road of cleaning up the Kingdom.
In the one month before the Crownprince will be King, Prem can do much "cleaning" in the ranks of the military. This surely will help in preventing the return of the beast.
You like in a dream world. The " corrupt," have not yet been "stripped" of their assets, some have passed a law forbidding any such acts. As for the "shinclan", well they have simply been replaced by the cha cha clan. People really need to get over this Shinawatra hatered, move on.

Yes, a grand boon to the tourist numbers, no doubt.
Prepaid package holidays are paid in China to Chinese travel organisers.
Some of the money goes to Mainland Chinese owned companies in Thailand.
Of course some of that ends up in Thai hands, but mostly into Chinese hands.
Tour buses, shops to visit, hotels, restaurants, all of them via/via owned by Chinese companies.
I would not be surprised if all these package tours are organised by one big hong........
Doing business with China is mostly a one way profit traffic.
"Tour buses, shops to visit, hotels, restaurants, all of them via/via owned by Chinese companies" surely these places employee thais, if so then some money goes to them, logic would say these thais may find themselves unemployed.

That has NOTHING to do with my comment, in fact, the restrictions should never have been placed at all, my comment was simply on this article, which comes down to respect v baht, the article is NOT about feeding your family.
