Pretty obvious the reporter has reading issue... the teacher wrote 9 x 1 = 7, the rePorter wrote 1 x 9 = 7.

So was the relative who borrowed the car correctly insured to drive it?
Forgive me, but what has that got to do with it.

Fake photo.... no finger pointing, and cha cha said no media parading, of suspects, and we all know they would not disrespect the "supreme" commander's "commands."

1000 baht a day, now that's a quality tourist. If that's the benchmark that your run of the mill sexpats should get elite visa status on arrival for free.
"Quality" tourist or not, no government has the right to demand a tourist must spend a minimum amount each day.... period. Now how would they monitor it and what stops them spending at all the same shops they are already herded to.

Is it possible that the ranting of the mahout is what triggered the elephant, along the same lines as a dog protects its master?

Headline says it all all "Turkey."

He is at it again this morning at government house. He ask OTOP vendors to innovate something he can eat to stop his unhappy mood. Then turning to the reporters, he said that when he is angry, they are the group he will vent. Laughable stuff from a leader some posters here adore.
He's so full of shit there's only one thing he needs to eat... a lot of laxitives.

Every 4 years on average since 1932, as you'll see if you read the history of Thai coups.
My apologies, you are correct.

AS if he would publicly announce he was planning a coup, history shows, on an average, there is a coup, every 2 years, in Thailand. Because of certain laws we cannot mention what the military has done, readers should read the history, of Thai coups.

Was he actually a "monk" when the photo was taken, or getting ready to be a "short time" monk?

As soon as I read, see or hear the word ' expert ' ... !
I tend to put Thai "experts" into a catagory of their own.

Glad they mention he is a Thai polly, for a moment I thought the Chinese had invaded...... or maybe they have... by stealth.

Can someone explain, to me, how you can do a "U" turn, and be travelling the wrong way, unless you're already travelling the wrong way.

Even if you volunteer for a single day for a charity or organisation you MUST have a work permit.
Even if you are not getting paid or renumerated in any way from the charity or organisation you MUST have a work permit.
The law is the law in Thailand.
I know of two recent cases of Westerners on holiday that were picked up, arrested and deported for unpaid charity work up in Chiang Mai.
With the current nationalist and anti-foreigner sentiment in Thailand it isn't worth the risk IMO.
As I said I totally agree with the sentiment but I don't make the laws.
Let's also remember the overseas rescue organisations that, without a few very quick calls, were almost sent away when they arrived to help search for bodies, after the tsunami, the reason, yep, no work permit, how utterly stupid was that.

More egg on the face of Thailand, well at least some officials, even a high school kid would know it wouldn't work. First thing would be, how do we STOP tourist using the SIM card from their home country, not rocket science, but seemed to elude those not so smart officials. How do they expect the younger generation to rise to the occasion with such dumb leaders. As the saying goes "it's hard to soar like an eagle, when surrounded by turkeys."

Darwin would be proud...
Darwin would be scratching his head, wondering what line of evolution he had missed.
By the way, witnesses say he was driving at speed, on the wrong side of the road, all I can say is, glad no one else was involved, when a cop drives like this it's understandable why so many otbers drive so poorly.

A survey of British visitors to New South Wales in 1786 found that 100% would never return.
True, but you forgot to mention...never return to Britain.

Oh, okay. So just do nothing. Leave the standing water stand in your own yard. Take no measures to protect your family.
No, but I suggest there is far more standing water, in paddys, than anywhere else. You can spray around villages, but soon the mossies will be back, they fly you know. You need to take more "personal" protection, eg, insect screens, insect repellents, cover your body with loose fitting clothes, mosquito net over your bed, take care at sunset etc...

In every single foreigner death article I have read where the foreigner had some relationship with either a Thai girl or a boy, the Thai person said there was an argument. So the foreigners all killed themselves after being heart broken?
Yes, we foreigners, are very sensitive people.

Damn, and I thought having a BOYFRIEND gave it away, now I know, must check the bed linen first, or risk insulting someone.

I have visited much countryside in Thailand. It always amazed me how much "standing" water I saw, a great breeding ground for mosquitoes.
But of course, little is done to drain those breeding grounds.
Welcome to LOS.
Would you also have then drain the rice paddy?

I acknowledge Monsanto has a lot to answer for, but on Zika, maybe not.

Sorry, but this doesn't happen all that often, to be labelled "thainess", in fact we often see the exact opposite.
