  4. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/dec/09/keystone-kansas-pipeline-biggest-spill-yet-14000-barrels?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Ignorance and denial of the truth is not a positive.
  5. AKA- the sunny uplands.
  6. I didn’t say it had to stop. I said without imperial preference commonwealth trade was no longer working economically in the uks favour. and is not a viable replacement for the eu market. It had been failing as a trade network for a long time as the links I posted explained.
  7. LOL, that is scraping the barrel. 17 times larger market...and much closer too.
  8. Which is still 17 times more than australia's population...
  9. Rubbish, after WWll the whole system of imperial preference was dismantled and led to a change in economic circumstances that made commonwealth trade less favourable to the uk. Learn your history. https://institute.global/policy/echoes-imperial-preference https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_Preference#:~:text=Inflation%2C combined with the general, formal system of imperial preference.
  10. That trade network was failing by the time the UK joined the EU. Without imperial preference the trade conditions no longer favoured the uk...
  11. We? You do not speak for everyone in the U.K. No one is talking about the result as such (except you, that is) but rather the disastrous effect brexit is having on the U.K. economy.
  12. The man’s narcissism is just unbelievable. There is no bar too low for him to crawl under when painting himself as the victim. He is beyond contempt.
  13. Yeah, the brexiteers would like people to stop analysing the impact of brexit so far. The equivalent of a child closing their eyes, sticking their fingers in their ears and chanting nah nah nah…
  14. Take it from me, someone who has read the entire thread, it is.
  15. It was a tense game, especially if sitting next to your Brazilian sister in law and nephew, and could have gone either way in normal time. Despite my antipathy to extra time, both goals scored were pure quality. The shootout was equally tense and the aftermath…well I went home then.
  16. “It's an universal law-- intolerance is the first sign of an inadequate education. An ill-educated person behaves with arrogant impatience, whereas truly profound education breeds humility.” Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn
  17. I know some who’d agree with you, but I’m not one of them. Love me a good penalty shootout.
  18. I’d have understood the taunting a bit more if that had been the case…also that seems more like something the English would do.
  19. Nah, penalties are a part of the game. Those with the nerve and skill to cope with the pressure of a shootout deserve the rewards they bring. Personally I’d do away with extra time and go straight to penalties.
