  1. Geez....why would you want to own a car here in this country......

OK...no need to answer........ I should not have asked.........but still........ who wants to drive amongst all the "Road Monkeys" and "Road Savages" that are abundant throughout Thailand.....lol

    Cheers

    Well,

How about those of us that don't trust the ' Road monkeys ' and ' Road savages ' to drive us around in taxis or public buses.

I would sooner trust my own driving than a guy in Thailand who is probably self taught and usually has one vice or the other in the form of alcohol or Yaa baa.

    Good points

Meantime I have been here for 25 years while I never had the urge or desire to buy, own and drive a motor vehicle here in Thailand.

But that is the way I feel.

Meantime.......fill your boots if you want to spend your hard earned money on such consumer items and have to maintain them and continually pay for them in a number of ways while every time you get out there and drive it is somewhat of an ordeal while you fight the traffic and burn your hard earned money on motor fuels.....over and over again.

    Cheers

No desire to buy,own or drive a motor in Thailand, but

reads and contributes to the the motor forum.....I like it.

  2. Just HAS to get into the headlines. Make sure you don't forget me me me me me !!

Not really. It is a convenient way of telling the Thai military administration that the revocation of his Thai passport hasn't caused him any significant inconvenience. In layman's terms, he just gave the finger to the General.

Curiously, I view it the opposite way. He has just had to undergo the now public ignominy

of having to travel to Montenegro to obtain travel documents which he thought he would

not require. Making life just that little more awkward for the miserable old sod......and this

is what this game is all about.....

  3. I think I read some thing about when applying for a retirement visa extension at Korat immigration and the bank account letter confirming that the bank balance was 800,000 Baht , had to be properly address to some specific immigration officer / immigration address .

Can any one confirm this is still a requirement , and if so whats the required officer name / address

do you think that the flowing will suffice for a first time retirement visa extension at Korat Immigration ( last yearly extension was '' Married to a Thai " )

    One completed TM7 form

    One 4cm x 6cm photo

Bank confirmation letter showing 800,000 Baht ( one day old and addressed correctly )

Just as a heads up I did a switch from marriage to retirement extension

the other day thinking this would roll-over from the end of my marriage

    extension on March 31.

But no, because I was switching, the new retirement extension would start

on day of application March 11, and end same date 2016.The upshot being

that I effectively lost three weeks on my extension.....so perhaps don't apply

    too early.

    Dick,

this has happened to me twice @ Kap Choeng. Once when I changed from marriage to retirement and my last extension when I changed back from retirement to marriage....It never happened to me @ Korat when I changed from retirement to marriage though...figure that one out

By the way this happened to me at Lop Buri.
