  1. Can't agree, I bailed out a Thai girl beauty shop owner to clear some debts, 22,000Thb, I had to come back to Ireland for a few months and the wife skyped me to tell me this girl had suddenly sold her shop. She was still around Soi Nernpabwan when I returned so I met her and told her I wanted to be paid back 2000 a month. One night she dissapeared and cut off all contact with her Thai friends some of whom she had borrowed from too.I had gotten her to sign a contract with my wife as the lender and also copied her ID card. I learned a valuable lesson and will never loan to a Thai again. One day I will go to Lampang and call to her family not that it will do any good but I want to see Lampang anyway.

  2. Absolutely ridiculous!

    What about the infertile?

Or those who are unable to find a mate?

The mental challenged, or physically incapable of married life?

This is not going to force anyone to marry, but it will be grossly unfair.

'Hey, will you marry me, we need the tax reduction.' ABSURD!

'Hey, will you marry me, we need the tax reduction.' ABSURD!.....sounds better than 'Hey will you marry me, the family needs me to bring home a farang sucker?

  3. I wonder if these Burmese workers will now be compelled to have insurance when they come into the come across the border as they are proposing for farangs. Will this incident go on the statistics of a falang being treated in hospital without insurance and at a huge cost to the health system?. Of course I'm making an assumption that Rambo was not insured.

  4. If he was hungry or needed shelter the temples will provide. But he's been a very silly billy for stealing and will be in a heap of trouble now.

The temples will provide? When did that last happen? Or perhaps you think that all the poor and starving on the streets prefer not to go to a temple?

Seems to me that the monks are usually in Panthip on a Sunday afternoon, usually 3 or 4 pm buying their latest gadgets.

"...starving on the streets prefer not to go to a temple?"

Who is starving on the streets? People may be begging for money, but I doubt they are unable to get food. Thailand is not like the US or Europe or Africa where so many people are hungry.

In any event, the topic is about an Italian thief. Somehow everything subject is quickly turned to be the fault of Thailand.

''Who is starving on the streets?''Falangs down on their luck!
