Doubt it as I've been changing a lot of 500euro notes lately and don't get a second glance. I'm based in Pattaya so that's where I speak of

I would recommend Qcon and if you think you really need it then interior red bricks with insulation between them.
This Thailand do you want to live in an oven, insulation

I served my time and worked a number of years as a brickie and also worked as a site foreman for several years and in my opinion that brickwork looks quite acceptable to me.

The big question here is 'who are the real scammers'. Is it these two Filipino ladies or the big mafia organization who are registered and look so squeeky clean. Upon closer scrutiny when you check out the big charity organizations it often turns out that only a small percentage of donation money reaches the needy. Most of the donation money actually goes towards administration fees and paying big salaries of charity executives leaving the pot very small indeed. I have seen this with certain charities back in Ireland. I wouldn't be too fast to accuse these two ladies as there is a possibility that more of the money they collected has reached those in need back home.

''with the first phase consisting of a highway to Thailand being constructed by ITD.'' The road to nowhere I think.

I wonder would a 500 bht entry fee cover these medical expences or did he have travel insurance.

So the friend of the victim saw her going into water and knowing she was intoxicated with kratong and alcohol didnt do anything to stop her ? that's what I call friendship. Very sad indeed.
It does not say she saw her friend go into the water but that she was with her that morning and saw her bite into an edible kratong. This story demonstrates that not all Thai women are only in it for the money. I hope they are both happy now and together in the next place. RIP to both.

I usually go to the departures floor and go outside to the sidewalk where there are always plenty of taxis after dropping off customers and are delighted to take you to Pattaya for 1000 thb.including tolls. If I was travelling with the bird and a lot of baggage ,aside from her, I think I'd try the first guy recommended a try and have peace of mind that there was someone there waiting for me.

in Bangkok I bought a "condo" for my son. 600,000 baht, 10 minutes On Nut BTS. Building is full all the time. Renters pay around 3000 month.
Its not what farangs would class as a condo more like a hotel room.
If it is doable in Bangkok it must be doable in Pattaya
3000/month on a 600,000baht condo would take 17 years to get your investment back and that's not factoring in annual maintainance fees and other costs. Do you seriously consider that a good place to put your money?

"Also discussed the possibility for Thai passportholders to be extemped from Schengen visas"
Poor Madame Ashton! How do you put it politely and diplomately correct to Ms Yingluck, that the Schengen countries have no interest in being flooded with Thai hookers??
But they would like to be flooded with rich Thai tourists, of which there are many. Plenty of hookers working in Europe already, so I don't see it as an issue. The positives for Schengen countries would far outweigh the negatives.
Ohhhh, brilliant? And at the moment, there are no rich Thai tourists visiting Europe?
So lets start. What exactly would be the positives of having no visas for tourist entry for Thai's into Europe?
Or were you being sarcastic?
I think it should be pretty obvious that more people will travel to a country if they don't need a visa. I've put off traveling to a few places because I can't be bothered with the hassle.Europe needs tourists, and they'd get millions more if they got rid of the need for visas for many countries. A few will overstay. So what? That happens in almost all countries will almost all nationalities.
Sorry but you're just another idiot that dosn't know what he is talking about!

I'm sorry but a 500-1000 baht fine is not going to eradicate this problem. I think if a gang of Russians beat up a Thai guy minding his own business it would be a whole different story.
