The flex to the oven goes in the two bottom terminal tunnels pointing down and through the strain relief clamp. The supply goes in the centre two of the 4 top terminals. E goes to the two top outside terminals (Supply one side, flex the other).

How about a solar car port on a budget?
Crossy replied to Crossy's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Numbers for June. We are aiming to use nothing from PEA in July (breaker is off). I do notice we are consistently making more than we use. Overall system round-trip efficiency from DC energy input to 220V usage is about 85%. Obviously the inverters use some energy, they do get pretty warm at times after all. Battery efficiency in to out is about 97%. I suspect some measurement errors too as the data is what is reported by the inverters. Does it really matter? Not really, the input energy is after all, free 🙂 The most important reading is that of the PEA meter -
Poll If war breaks out with Cambodia what will you do?
Crossy replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
My mum-in-law (sadly now long gone) was in the Thai resistance during the war. Get her started and she would tell anyone who would listen (and those who didn't want to) how many "Japs" she killed by derailing trains. I never had the heart to tell her that at the time I was working for a Japanese company, in Thailand, building a railway Miss the old dear, she never lost her marbles even well into her 90s, she just didn't wake up one morning 😞 -

Random Immigration Checks
Crossy replied to Jake72's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Interestingly, Pathum Thani immigration always did a home visit for marriage extensions, not just the first one. Then , last November, despite verifying Madam's phone number, no visit. We shall see what occurs this November, all bets are off. The "Check Visa Status" Line thingy simply said visa approved, please collect. -

How about a solar car port on a budget?

The chickens have been electrified!! That's 3 panels that were in the garage plus one moved from the tool shed which was a bit shaded. We are now truly full (no panels left over). Also, the latest Beta of Solar Assistant adds live production forecasting. Of course, we can now see how much energy we are "wasting" by not having an EV to charge! -
Forecasting your solar output - Solcast may be useful
Crossy replied to Crossy's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Not using Solcast, but the latest Beta of Solar Assistant adds weather and generation prediction. https://solar-assistant.io/help/updates/changelog? -
Yup, give them a fuse or breaker, particularly those on the mains supply. They do (mostly) have internal overheat protection but a fuse or breaker guarantees safety. The problem is that each time they absorb a surge the trigger voltage goes DOWN slightly. Eventually they are triggering on the normal supply voltage and can generat a LOT of heat.

Fire Fire Erupts Above Central Pattaya Bar, Customers Flee

Maybe we should add to the available post reactions -
If you have 3-phase you could consider adding a phase-selector for your essential circuits. http://www.reletek.cn/wap/productlist.aspx?cateid=37 This will pick the best phase and so keep your single-phase kit working even if one phase dies. When I worked in New Delhi our apartment had a more, er, manual system. Next to the TV were 3 outlets, one on each phase, plug the TV into the one that actually made it work

No True Move Wallet for Foreigners?
Crossy replied to Zenwind's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
It does seem the be the coffee/donut/waffle huts (and of course many Starbucks) which are cashless. Most, if not all, of the various outlets in our village have QR codes to pay, they all still accept cash. -

I got mine in 2021 when I was 62, the expiry date says "for life" 🙂 -
No True Move Wallet for Foreigners?
Crossy replied to Zenwind's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Yup, but some things can be incredibly easy. When we first arrived in Thailand and rented a condo we were using dial-up internet, I noticed (I don't remember where) that a new company was offering ADSL in our area, I called the number, they emailed me the application form which I faxed back (it was a while back) one morning. It was my intention to inform Madam when I got home from the office, however she called a couple of hours later that "there was a man at the door to install internet". As above YMMV! -

I wonder if it will work with a pink ID card, once you get to a "certain age" (60 IIRC) they don't expire until you do. -
No True Move Wallet for Foreigners?
Crossy replied to Zenwind's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Excellent! That does indeed work. It seems that "transfer to bank accounts" is what's not available. -
No True Move Wallet for Foreigners?
Crossy replied to Zenwind's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
TrueMoneyWallet is definitely available to foreigners https://www.truemoney.com/foreigner/ I've had it for many years. Click the Register button on that link for instructions on how to make it work. IIRC the only thing you can't do is link to your bank account so, unless you have a Thai credit (or possibly debit) card, you have to top-up using cash. Of course, if you have a Thai bank account you can use the scan-to-pay function on their app. -
3-phase units are also available but are usually used to protect 3-phase equipment which can be damaged by loss of one phase. If you only have single-phase appliances on your 3-phase supply then using 3 x single-phase protectors would be better for keeping at least some supply on.

Has it actually come apart at a joint? If so use PVC pipe cement to re install. There are some VERY sticky wet repair tapes on Lazada. A photo of what the problem is would be useful.
