  1. Indeed. Many women harp on about inequality but have no idea how hard it can be being a bloke. The expectation… being the breadwinner, providing for family, berated by woman for not having as much as her friends, getting destroyed by the courts when she wants a change etc etc. Harder for a guy to seek help and they are more likely to bottle it up. The addition of social media and that toxic environment for the young uns is another biggie. Especially horrible to hear about kids doing themselves in. People will make light of it and carry on with their day as it means nothing to them. Whatever.
  2. Common misconception those amounts need to be ‘maintained’ all year. Whilst monies should be seasoned at or above 400/800 for this or that extension (marriage/retirement, for example), one is then free to draw down (as far as 400k on retirement) in the interim. To not do so might suggest one is getting monies elsewhere, such as working on the sly. Any immigration office telling folks that money HAS to be there all year is wrong. Op, you haven’t missed the boat as you’re still alive. Get off the fence and get over here. You can easily get a visa and subsequent extensions. Don’t worry about dying, we’ll all do that. Come and be with your daughter, and avoid the notion of needing to leave large sums. Giving her your time and a good start is more important so she has the tools to make her own way as most of us did.
  3. What crimes are those? Could you list them, please, and not the tired old tat spouted on here or by the army? Genuinely interested.
  4. Clearly got issues, who hasn’t and who cares if others get hurt. There’s already enough farang nutters here. Fine heavily, deport and ban. Just don’t take it out on the rest of us that behave.
  5. Yes indeed, the usual moaning suspects usually overlook the real issue.
  6. Feel sorry for the Thais for the debacle of the last 9 years! They had their country stolen after all.
  7. Good work but x100 to sort Thailand's embarrassing stray dog issue. Do the same with the urban monkeys. All on the army for not getting to grips with it. Nothing smacks more loudly than third world (which it ain’t) than feral animals roaming the streets.
  8. Of course, but surprised not 100%. When an organisation operates as the RTP does, there can be only one result... where ordinary officers pay large sums to get in, have to buy all their own kit, and can only make their career pay through 'other' means. The whole system is wrong and massively open to corruption.
  9. This is Thailand though, innit, where 20 is underage. You can buy a pint and go clubbing in UK at 18. Always could.
  10. Gawd, here’s another one. They’ve all been allowed out today! Been riding, and driving, in Thailand for 25 years. Does that mean I only have a partially diminished IQ, or perhaps having the audacity to ride automatically consigns me to ‘dummy’ status? I used to cycle on the roads a lot, too, you know. Guess that makes me a double-thickie, eh!
  11. Including all the responsible bikers in Thailand? What a nice person. Some very odd views on this thread. Here’s my opinion then. All you lot knocking motorcyclists, you’re all fuddy-duddy boring boomers right with a staid life about as much fun as watching paint dry? Sorry, was I generalising? Pfft!
  12. Is this a case of quickly getting the blame everyone else in there because you know as soon as people read the title they’re typically gonna be thinking ‘Chinese is it?’
  13. Why don’t these busy bodies make themselves useful by filing a lawsuit against someone in government for all the dangerous driving on the roads? You can even blame Anutin if you like, just leave weed be, which is pretty bloody harmless in the great scheme of things.
  14. Masked Ball in Eyes Wide Shut is awesome.
  15. They do kinda set themselves up for it.
  16. Was he just off the boat? For all he knew she’d just finished swishing around the contents of some sweaty wife-beater wearing mongerer’s dangly bits. Why did you hang around? Gawd, wish I could unsee this thread… off to brush my teeth!
  17. About on par with the op, then! ???? Let's not beat about the bush, ole Gamma Globulator is not on any sort of genius level, since he wouldn't have the time or inclination for such triviality, let alone post to TV. But his topics are harmless enough; just need to be taken with a large pinch of salt. On topic; more harmonious to have a decent, loyal, independent woman approaching one's level of education and that does well in the bedroom and kitchen, than some hard-going genius, who will likely be utterly focused on her choice of poison, fight you all the way, and then make you earn the right to lay down with her... it would get old very fast.
  18. Glad they got to the bottom of it. Sorry, I’ll get my coat…
  19. Ooh, the hate. Love seeing the boomers getting riled. Go Takki! ????
  20. For someone interested in astronomy, quite surprising they’d be talking about colours with a ‘blue moon’. It is in regard to a full moon’s rarity of appearing twice in a calendar month.… ‘as rare as a blue moon’, or something like that, which is merely a play on words. Agree there might not be an apparent difference with a supermoon, but if you can catch it low in the sky with earthly monuments in the foreground, it can really pop.
  21. Don’t want locals to suffer, but is it not a good thing if fewer Chinese hordes show up? Just swamps services and makes the experience worse for everyone else. If it takes the Chinese economy to suffer to keep them at bay then so be it. Fewer groups and more independent visitors please. Airports are busy, but can’t see the numbers of old back again or similar kind of spending, since everything is that much more expensive and people have less money. Thailand, you gotta adapt!
  22. Not really; bung any old topic into a keyword search engine, garner most searched for keywords then write tat about it, incorporating them several times for maximum views. Thusly: ‘genius Thai women’, ‘genius girls in Thailand’ etc. There, I’ve helped him out. As to finding the above—if it is indeed a genuine request—unless you are in the know, have very good connections, speak decent Thai, are well dressed, well mannered, and don’t look too much like a desperate deluded farang and don’t stink of p$ss, then I’d stick to your usual.
  23. Be at least a generation for time to clear out the dinosaurs before you could start to believe that. These military folk are too thick and stubborn to let go so easily.
  24. If there is, just hope it’s one up from this malarkey, or black nothingness will do just fine thanks ????
