Well said. I always baulk at these kinds of topics — pretty local stars making it in the world. Posts like ‘every student campus has one’ (of course it does, so what?), or ‘she’s nothing special’, calling her a hooker or ‘I wouldn’t do her with yours’ etc… all the while probably downing another case of Chang in their wife-beater and flip flops. Like any of you would have a hope in hell, even with a lookalike as a ‘normal’ girl here. Her music’s not for me, I don’t follow her and beauty is subjective and all that, but she’s clearly a stunner and has done well for herself. Why do people find it so hard to acknowledge it when a Thai is successful?

Perhaps I was wrong, some of you ‘learned’ miserable lot would haven seen it differently. But why live in a place if you don’t care for the people and it makes you so unhappy ? Having spent a lot of time around Thais in all parts of the country and having been to many countries, I’d go along with this. The family and friends thing is a big deal, they don’t get caught up in our manmade religions and they generally don’t get overly serious. But I think a main factor for Thais being generally happy is that they don’t tend to overthink, or get entangled in thought so much. Some donkey will make a quip about that. Whatever.

Indeed. The fad comes around every so often and was a thing again recently where every other dude had a ridiculous bunch of fur on their chin. Some women also got in on it apparently. It suits some chaps, like tattoos do, but most just look donkeyfied and unkempt, and yes MUCH older. Would urge one to question that ego first before sending another crazy mass of hair into the world.
