  1. thank goodness we live to the north of Pattaya ,never have any problems.

Where exactly? I am in Naklua and have friends dotted all over Wong amat, all have similar issues of Mains being cut off for many hours in a day. But it's of little consequence because there is always enough in the tanks.

We live up near the FLY NOW outlet mall off sukhumvit ,very very rarely have water or lecy shortages and if we do its only for a very short time

  2. This is a little aside this EU stuff, should be on a platform of its own, but its a gravy train of emense proportions, led a bunch of nobodys effecting the life of 500 million and if they dont get their own way, they will just keep coming back until they do, through a different door.

I could write you pages on my thoughts about this beaurocratic nightmare, but lets just say its a shambles and leave it at that and I hope we (UK) do leave it at that!

Although Thailand's credit rating has gone up its still in the B's whilst the UK is still in the A's same level as the US and France, perhasp these people who dish out the ratings are a bit to important for their own good, its there view and who do they answer to? Yet they control the lives of so many with their ratings.

With Cyprus problem noe unfurling I agree with CM that its time for the pendulem to start heading up for the rate, but it may be slow and how far will it go is a guess, maybe I will opo into the Fortune Tellers this afternoooon!

The EEC has been a disaster waiting to happen for the last 20 years.the UK need to stop financing Bankrupt Countries, and Cow Towing to stupid EEC Dictats and laws, get out of Europe, seal our Borders, put up a sign "Benefit Office Permanently Closed"and start making our own laws again, and running our own Country again, before we too go down on the Passenger ship, the SS Gravy Train, currently heading full steam for the rocks!

There's an awful lot wrong with this comment but to be honest I doubt it's worth the effort of a lot of typing. This is just a sweeping generalisation which clearly isn't going to be accurate.

Far from a sweeping generalisation ,i think he does not go far enough , we are British i will never consider myself European ,now after saying that i have nothing at all against the other countrys in Europe ,its just a shame they were not all seperate like they were years ago ,vive la differance.

  4. agreed! "insane" does apply to Nigel Farage! wink.png

Is it people who disagree with what Nigel Farage says here who are insane and one would seriously have to consider their motives for suggesting otherwise?

Nigel Farage Message To Europeans: "Get Your Money Out While You Can"

even insane people have once in a while bright moments and are able to render valuable advice.

SEE we all said you had bright moments sometimes Naamthumbsup.gif

  5. This is a occuring event at all the hypermarkets in Thailand.

Ooops, there are only 2 hypermarket chains in Thailand, and that is what they realise.

They are just making the most profit with the least investment, knowing that people have no other choice as going to one of both, and buy what is available.

It can also be called, abuse of semi monopoly.

Mind you ,i must say that the Big C store on cental road is far superior in the fresh food section and their veg ect wipes the floor with Tescoes awfull produce.

  6. For years we have shopped there ,but lately have any of you noticed is been going downhill rapidly ,empty shelves or rows of one product to fill the gaps, we have just about stopped going there as they are always out of stuff , i hope someone in authority from there reads this because ,mate whoever does your ordering needs the sack

  7. We must be lucky ,have rented our detached house now for many years(thai owner) any repairs or replacements ,anything in fact over 2000 baht is paid for ,just told ,"if it needs doing ,do it and deduct from the rent" ,never even wants a bill but trusts us. for our part we treat the house as if it were ours and keep it in perfect shape ,also my wife has made the garden a treat to sit in . however as you took the house as it was ,it is up to you to put in anything extra you want ,but after saying that he would be mad not to put it in for you as if you leave he could be left with an emty house for years in that price range ,as there are masses to choose from.

  8. If you wasn't here it wouldn't of happened in the eyes of the law.

    >If you wasn't here it wouldn't of happened in the eyes of th

    e law.

The only answer to this is, rubbish.

Not really rubbish; it is often said to foreigners by BIB's: "If you not here, no accident happen!"

In all the years i have been in buisness ,as a holidaymaker and as a resident it has never been said to me or any of my friends ,in fact the police have always been curteous and i have only once been asked for a bribe(in bkk) instead of a fine ,even then it was done with a smile .

  9. 15-20 years ago he/she was probably in huge demand. It cant be easy for them to come to terms with this.

Personally I have no such problem as I have always been ugly and never in demand.

Well i am a very" hansom man" and there are loads of ladies in Pattaya who tell me so all the time , if your a Pattaya resident dont believe your mirror it lies all the time.

  10. You are having a larf the old crone was the one who sold off British manufacturing to make more profit for her cronies at the expense of the british working man who she despised.

She certainly did not despise the working classes ,but she did hate the fact most did not want to work for a fair wage and spent half the time on strike ,thats why the manufacturers left ,to go where the workforce actually worked ,she may have done much wrong ,but by God she made us proud to be British again .

She most certainly did despise the working man, she hated the fact that those who produced the wealth, demanded a bigger cut of the profits at the expense of her boss cronies. I forget the exact figures, but they're something like this. When she came to power, a CEO was on average paid seven times the salary of middle management. Now, thanks to her and her ilk, and everyone who has followed has been of her ilk, a CEO gets twenty four times that of middle management. She destroyed this country, and we are now reaping the rewards (sic) of her I'm all right Jack free market monetarist policies. She is an evil old skank and I hope she rots in hell.

And as for being proud to be British, I assume you are talking about the Falklands war, which was fought by the armed forces, not her, so it would be the marines and fleet air arm that made us proud.

No i was not talking about the Falklands ,but i was proud wheen the wonderfull woman was in charge ,not like when that self serving traitor Blair and his evil wife were filling their pockets.

The Falklands war was a huge expense to UK and the ongoing support of Falklands people and sheep is costing huge money annually. Pride has a cost.

Well when the oil starts flowing from the waters around there it will all be repaid ,anyway ,what cost protecting your own people? the Labour lot Blair and co spent far more invading a country looking for "weapons of mass destruction"
