  1. if they are truck, you slow, they go

driving not difficult here ... just different from where you from

Yes, pretty common sense stuff. And you're absolutely right, driving here is not that difficult. It shouldn't take foreigners that long to adapt.

Of course, any sort of driving thread on this forum will bring out the Thai-bashing nutjobs in droves. Just wait and see.

Could that be because your average Thai driver is about as much use as a chocolate spoon ? now that

does not mean i do not like Thai people (I married one) its just that they have no training at driving and generally are "dim but nice"

  2. Someone posted "Pattaya can become very boring" in some ways he was right ,eventually the nightly bar scene and the girls asking the same questiones become repetative and boring and who in their right mind would have thought that when a young woman puts her hands on your familly jewels you would take them off and say ,please i am talking to a friend and then ignore her .well it will happen ,if you are unlucky you will marry a bar girl who will break your heart ,if lucky you will find one who works out and if you are really lucky you will go beyond the bars eventually marry a nice ordinary woman have a kid and be happy for 20 years ,then Pattaya will not be boring ,but will be your home and you will be contented. Shit i"me misting upthumbsup.gif .

  3. Women are women ,the world over some will love and cherish their husband ,some will see him as a meal ticket and some will treat him like sh-t, my wife(thai) and my previous English wife i am sure would have wiped my bum if i was to ill to do it as i would for them , its nothing to do with their race ,its called love.

  4. My daughter was made redundant in the UK six months ago ,started a small buisness ,advertized on facebook and is going from strength to strengh , same happened to me 30 years ago ,got a far better job ,never looked back ,but you must always always think ,"one door closes, another one opens" or my friend you will be doomed.

It is hard for a topic like this to stay "on topic" These two Indian scum were undoubtedly on benefits in the UK,likewise their families, easy way to make money, more surely to follow these two.Detection must be stepped up a pace. Looking at the dumb faces of these two a street dog here in Pattaya would put the two to shame at attempts of cunning

yes and now the full weight of the social services will swing into action to ensure his familly do not go without ,no wonder Britains broke.

  6. I hope he is loaded. Can't believe he stopped. Not the Thai way at all. They'll learn...

if he has 1st class insurance he will be OK

What would you consider 1st class insurance, too cover you through thick and thin? I ask because I had an accident totalling my VW Touareg 1 1/2 years in Indonesia. It was quite feat I touched, grazed and side swipped 11 cars before running it smack dab in to a big oak next to the road. No I was not drunk, medical issues. But between the cars I hit and totally the Touareg Kurnia in Jakarta paid out over 170,000 USD. The the insurance group that Kurnia handles IHI/BUPA paid out over 1/2 million USD to GlenEagles Singapore for my 4 months stay. It was definitely not a good month for them or myself.

1st class insurance covers the police bail bond in Thailand for foreigners in case of accident, 200k baht from memory, plus fully comprehensive, medical etc of course their are limits but can be increased by paying for more cover. The insurance company representative does all the work on your behalf.

The issue in Thailand is some foreigners do not obtain the bail bond insurance so they have to negotiate with the police & must pay cash, otherwise they are detained. as well as negotiate directly with the friendly local police for victim compensation etc

Some years ago i had an accident when turning left a bike tried to undertake me and didnt make it ,i had 1st class insurance and a 200k bail bond(dont leave home without it) through all the demands for money and shouting i just showed them my insurance and said "deal with the insurers you are at fault" worked a charm
