  1. I installed my own sprinkler system, and had no problems

I purchased a Grundfos pump with Pressure tank and switch

The grundfos shop is a few metres from Tesco on the Superhighway

Also I bought 3in PVC pipe and cut approx. 6/8inches pieces and installed them around the sprinklers, this would stop cutter hitting the sprinkler, ideally both should be below the top of the grass

  2. I would talk to the carrier / DHL and ask them if you can import the guitar as  'Temporary Import'

You would then have to re-export when you leave the country

You will pay a fee, however it should be small

Also you would need an invoice with description, cost and the words such as 'TEMPORARY IMPORT INVOICE'

  3. This UPDATE from Don Web by email

G4T did not close but recently relocated upstairs to the top level of Promenada Bldg. A --near Chi Chang and Samsung stores -- right next to the "Big Camera" shop.

Unfortunately, they are currently referring folks to their consulates for Residence Certificates. Folks may want to call them at 090-3215005 for latest status, or email [email protected]

  4. The item below is from Don Webb email

    Is G4T Closed???????

    RESIDENT CERTIFICATE

I've just learned that G4T has just closed their doors.  They are no longer in business.

                                                AND

Immigration is no longer issuing Resident Certificates.  They got tired of receiving complaints, from Farangs, that it took to long to get the Resident Certificate so now they will no longer provide this service.  This has been the policy at many other Immigration Offices for quite some time now.  Constant complaining from Farangs has created this situation.

You must now get the Resident Certificate from your appropriate Embassy or Consulate. For Americans, the Consulate Form to obtain the Resident Certificate is attached below. The form must be notarized (Cost 1800 Baht).  For some other Nationalities, I understand that the cost to Notarize is more than 1800 baht.

For other Nationalities - contact your appropriate Embassy or Consulate on how to obtain a Resident Certificate

I renewed my Driver's License last week.  I paid G4T 500 Baht and received it the next day.  I guess I was one of the last one's to get the Certificate thru them.  I guess paying G4T 500 Baht wasn't such a bad deal after all.

NOTE:  For Americans, the Consulate in Chiang Mai will be closed from Sept 12 to Nov 1 for renovations.  You must go to Bangkok to get your Resident Certificate during this time.

If you think you will need a Certificate during this period of renovations, I recommend that you obtain your Certificate now as it is good for 6 months from the date of issue.

Hopefully, Immigration will recognize the problem this has caused and start processing Resident Certificate again in the near future.

  5. I recently replaced out heater with

    PANASONIC DH-6GM4 - 6 Kw

    Paid Baht 6670 from HomePro

The guy who I know installed the heater and recommended PANASONIC

The heater is a multi-point, which means you can use various outlets / taps

Work well, would not go for smaller Kw

  6. I would like some contact numbers and pricing for Pest Control Services, ideally in the San Sai area

Spraying garden and house monthly for the usual bugs

Also, how much people are paying and what is the size of land / house

  7. I bought platic spikes and fixed them onto the guttering, and no more pigeons

My next neighbour used gel, it started to run down her guttering, created a mess, hard to remove

So my suggestion buy plastic spikes

Have not seen them in Thailand, so you to buy when your at home or mail them in

  8. My view visiting Imm is keep it to a minimum

So, that's once a year for the Retirement extension / re-entry visa

With respect to 90 day reporting, try online 15 days ahead, if unsuccessful......then pop it in the post

TM30 have moved to Imm Airport and providing you are up to date, its pretty quick

    Also DIY
