NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) — Protesters are demanding stricter screenings for coronavirus on southbound traffic at the U.S.-Mexico border.
They say they’re concerned that travelers from the U.S. could import new cases of the coronavirus into Mexico.
On Wednesday, protesters on the Mexican side of the border blocked the Mexico-bound lanes in the twin border cities of Ambos Nogales for several hours.
I love it, you couldn't have made this up a year ago

but he's not in hospital (yet) so why the angst over something that hasn't happened?.

I'm sure they both had enough money to pay for a fast track test, not really jumping the cue..if you have the money you can get a quick result if not wait for a freebie Its the "unfortunate" way of the world.
I don't think you can jump the queue as testing is co ordinated though the NHS so that the results of everybody is known. I would hazard a guess that Boris & Charles were priotirised.

Just wear the damn masks!!!

was in Makro Ban Phe yesterday afternoon, sign saying masks must be worn and about 50% of the people in there weren't wearing one.

The village momma poppa shops have plenty of eggs but the supermarkets do seem to be stripped of them. I want to know who the evil people are who are hoarding fish fingers, went to Makro yesterday and there were none left.

If I wanted to get out of Bangkok about now I would not take any public conveyance. I would hire an out of work taxi driver and his car. For around US$100/day a person could get such a private car to go about anywhere in the country now. If it took two days, double that and pay for the driver's hotel room.
you like wasting money

have tried to do 90days at Rayong on line however the website listed
www.rayongimmigration.go.th does not appear to be reachable comes up as no IPS and no server available.
You can only use the official website for 90 days but the line app to Rayong imm does work as my wife used to do foreigner registration through it. My wife also has a few private numbers to call in case of advice. After seeing pictures of CW imm, CM imm I'm glad I live in Rayong and imm here isn't perfect but greatly improved from when I first lived here.

went to Makro Ban Phe this afternoon, notice on door everyone must wear a face mask - about 50% did. nobody is supposed to leave Bangkok - Ban Phe and the beach have lots of Bangkok number plates touring. I will say I have never seen Ban Phe with so little traffic (no tourist buses) but there are still some Thai tourists here.

i just came back from Makro Hua Hin and there were people stocking up for a full month.
not the weak amateur hour of maybe 7 days worth of stuff we saw people doing last week.
this was two carts completely full to the top.
so maybe everyone will be eating frozen pork chops for a month.
we bought boxes of spicy noodle soups and even bought another sack of dried dog food and one of cat food but if it gets bad I think the dogs can cope but the cats will go back to eating lizards and cockroaches again.

in the UK the mouthpiece is a one use item from a packet like a razor blade in a barbers and I only experienced it once.

Deet? Deet is a mosquito repellant. Definitely not a poison. Maybe you're thinking of DDT?
yes it is, why do you think it repells. I used to use the 95% deet one when I first came here till I discovered it was a poison.

220 million people are treated for malaria every year, not including millions more who take chloroquine etc for prophylactic protection against the various forms of malaria. For decades. Billions of patients. One of the most widely used and beneficial drugs of all time. I know several people who have taken it. Only the MSM could possibly make it out to be an evil killer drug. Incredible.
I took chloroquin for seven months the first time I worked in India but didn't realise the side effects till the second time I worked there when I thought the risk of having malaria was lower than taking it. The other thing is so many people are taking it and have been taking it that it's effectiveness in Asia is being reduced as malaria is becoming more resistant to it, people are taking stronger drugs like malerone. The same thing has happened in Thailand with using deet (a poison) in mosquito sprays as apparently mosquitos in parts of NW Thailand have become resistant to it.

Anyone notice that he has aged several years in the past few weeks?
Have you also noticed that recently some picture accompanying announcements show him in a military uniform, don't know if it's the press who chooses the pic?.

Oh really! C and malarial prevention have built up a resistance. I'm no DR. rabbit. Fact, Cumo at the epicenter wants to give the combo a try
yes, you get issued with differing prescriptions for anti malarial preventatives for different parts of the world. try the WHO website for advice on this, it's very good or if you are from the UK try the NHS website they have all the info. I'm just going by what I was issued with by companies when I worked worldwide.I only mentioned malaria, I just questioned if it would affect covid treatment.

From what I have been following its used in a combination, with azithromycin
I can't be bothered to check but I think chloroquin doesn't work in S America or sub Saharan Africa as malarial preventative anymore due to a build up of resistance to it, would this affect covid use?
-
Chloroquinine is better than taking Malerone but not by much, they are meant to be preventative medicines not treatments as side effects can be bad in large doses. When I was working long term in India I stopped taking chloroquin as the side effects are not nice and we all stopped taking malerone in Tanzania as the side effects are dreadful. I don't think it's a wonder drug but then I'm electrical not a microbiologist.
ps i remember trying to get chloroquin here in Thailand a few years ago to go on a job and being told it wasn't available.

Let's face reality here. Its exploded in Bangkok and now it's now being seeded in the Provinces by people fleeing Bangkok! Expect Italy MK2 in about 30-45 days time. Time to batten down the hatches! PS Went shopping today and the Mrs commented on how many cars where from Bangkok!
went out to get some sacks of pet food and there were a lot of Bangkok registered vehicles around the beach area and on the Sukhumvit in Rayong.

I got stuck in Thailand with the volcano in Iceland, had to pay for a one way with KLM after Emirates wouldn't answer the phone or emails. Never paid my own money for them again although did fly them a few times for work. I've been reading in UK news about low cost airlines like easyjet and ryanair dumping their customers and leaving them stranded in N Africa, Canary Islands and mainland Europe. They got emails explaining how to get refunds. I think both those airlines will have trouble finding customers when the world starts getting back to normal.

Ban Phe has been hit today by the big egg sellout, the supermarket shelves are empty but still available in the momma poppa shops in the village.
Are 7-Elevens open as usual?
in Bangkok

they're open in Rayong and the staff are usually all shelf stacking now as there are not many customers
