    I am. I live here.

So you're not missing the Chinese then? A friend said on the weekend how nice it was to go into Ban Phe without all the tour buses around and blocking the roads. For me Samed is like an open prison and an expensive one at that. Maybe it will be like the mainland was last weekend with lots of visitors fron Bangkok.

And they pretty much guaranteed that that would happen when they let thousands of people take buses out of Bangkok to other parts of the country. Stupid, stupid, stupid. They should have canceled ALL outgoing buses. Once again, a day late and a dollar short with this incompetent government. They also let tens of thousands of people leave the country to return to Laos and Myanmar. Brilliant, just phukking brilliant. ????

They're not controlling the population, last weekend the beach here in Rayong was full of Bangkok registered vehicles and Thais were partying as usual as restaurants and resorts are open as normal because Rayong is not in lockdown. Will be the same thing next weekend if they don't clamp down as weather forecast is good.

  3. I understand the outrage but as the whole country is not in lockdown, over the weekend the local beaches here in Rayong were full of Bangkok registered number plates with Thais partying as the bars & restaurants plus resorts are open for business. I presume we will have the same thing next weekend and probably will see more Chonburi number plates than usual if the police are clamping down there. They need to close off the expressway from Bangkok to Chonburi and Rayong. Also the Scandinavians on holiday for the winter are in their usual watering holes this evening, business as usual on the beach.

  4. All this faux outrage, over the weekend the beaches in Rayong were full of Bangkok number plated vehicles with the Thai people in full on party mode with all the bars and resorts still open. It seems if Bangkok is shut then they'll just go somewhere else to enjoy themselves and spread the virus.

p.s. I was in Big C the other day and they had all these cooked chickens etc on open display, even without the virus I don't think it's hygenic but during a pandemic?

  5. Try again tomorrow it still works on the weekend, maybe you're early reporting for it. I usually try 10 days before due date because of previous issues I've had. I've only had the website work with 2 browsers, internet explorer and Epic.

  6. Are we allowed a second go? Some gentler films.

    Life of Pi

Forest Gump (first time I saw this was flying BA business class on an overnight flight and woke up everyone when i started laughing when he says 'I got shot in my bum, do you want a look?.)

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (again saw this on a flight)

Being There ( a weird film and I think Peter Seller's last one but very funny)

Young Frankenstein ( I have never understood how they kept straight faces filming this)

re: Forest Gump, read the two books as the film is based on the first book.

They could simply allow everyone an additional 90 days on their current permission to stay date.

No need to panic visit immigration causing them an enormous workload or do anything just the 100% directive clear statement issued and understanding that we all have 90 days extra to our current stamp under this emergency situation...........simple hassle free.

Can be reviewed later as the situation unfolds.

That will never work, it involves common sense. We all know the Thai way is to make it as convoluted and as hard as possible.

What does 5,000 operations mean. My Safe T Cut saved my life twice in a couple of years- I can't imagine it doing so 5,000 times.

I agree, unless you have the data sheet and even then you can't quote mean time between failures so it could trip with low load or high load and the contacts damage from disconnection would be different every time. Don't test with high loads, save your contacts. I've seen circuit breakers, contactors etc have welded contacts under fault conditions and then it goes up to the next level of protection which involves more current to trip which can lead to fires.

  9. Schneider is part of Square D group and this is what you need, if you were in Rayong I would sell it to you for a reasonable price. Please ignore the pictures from Metropolitian (no offense intended) as this is the part you need. I have Schneider in my house, had it in my condo but the insulation resistance of the wiring was bad and the rcd would trip but the guy rewiring really didn't like the Schneider board so with my wife's advice I let him replace the dist board when rewiring even though the Schneider board was technically better & safer. I discovered the insulation resistance was bad when I fitted this very rcd, even with a multimeter it was around 200K ohms in some circuits.

OK you have NO earth leakage protection so you should follow the suggestions in post #7 above.

You will need the 63A Safe-T-Cut or Schneider RCBO.

Schneider is good gear, you can buy a 63A Schneider rcd in Thaiwatsadu, Homepro, Global etc and I think it's just under 4k baht. It's plug in (with cables disconnected pull the bottom out). Incoming supply comes in from the bottom so it has to be isolated although I know many Thai electricians would take the chance. Schneider gear is European standard (industry) so I would prefer that over safe-T-cut.

Heard from doc in Rayong Hospital -  400 cases there, who have been tested positive.

What a load of bo llox, someone should report you for false stories. Yesterday a friend had a guest with fever at their guest house in Ban Phe, virus tested and proved negative but it was disinfected today by the health department.

    ps which Rayong hospital?

Idiotic that they continued to dither, waiting for the government to ban the event until 2 hours before the start of action and only then called it off. It was clear once a member of the paddock tested positive, the show would stop but they still tried to shift the 'blame' onto the government. My guess is there are financial compensations involved which depend on who called the cancellation. The race was never going to happen as the Ferrari and Mercedes teams at least had both started leaving the country at 0900.

Money getting considerably more concern than the health of the supporters, as usual.

Also the F1 organisation must have known the writing was on the wall from the cancellation of the main motogp race at Qatar because Italians were banned from travelling there and I think there are 4 Italian motogp teams.

Eventually F1 would have had a race where Ferrari couldn't travel to, I couldn't imagine the whole set up staying out of Italy and finding a corona free country to carry out their business for the racing year. I would have been disappointed if they has started without Mclaren as it's one of the teams I follow.
