Yes it has become a big gamble these days, no stability at all, the rules can change overnight.

Another outdated thing with their work permits it that you legally only can work from the address stated on your work permit, silly rule. I don't expect any major changes in their rules and I will never invest in Thailand again.

Even if I am almost fluent in Thai, when I get stopped in a road block I only speak English with the BIBs, most time they wave me trough because they are so embarrassed that they can not communicate in English. 

Very hard to be fair to a group people who are paid by your tax money for serving and protecting you and doing the complete opposite.

Drove trough Korat province yesterday and did not see one police road block, normally there are 3-4 in this area :-) 

Time to join the 50% expat exodus soon, this is getting absurd.

Shocking in Thailand would be if an accident had happened and nobody run away from the scene and the guy who made the mistake took full responsibility for the accident.

It used to be relatively easy to do business here, today it's a nightmare for foreign investors. I moved my company out from this madhouse and very happy I did so.

And the pumps will probably be available when people are neck-deep up in water and all their belongings destroyed. Typical Thai planning, no forward thinking at all, same when a boat sinks and many people dies, first than they start to check for life jackets, permits etc. Third world and will always be.

The way this military government treat foreigners with all kind of paranoid tracking ideas and misstrust, they are in my opinion not worth a single visitor.
