  1. Don't know how many of you been down to this area lately, I drove up from east coast Malaysia to Thailand and crossed at the Sungai Kolok border and drove from there to Songkhla in early June this year, and it was an eye opener for me. I don't think that they ever will gain control of this area, maybe only if they kick out all the muslims to Malaysia or to Indonesia. The muslims here are more hardline (not the same Thai muslims you see in Phuket, Krabi, Satun or in Trang) with full burkas for the ladies and all the men dressed like Osama Bin Laden, scary place to visit.

  2. So one Swedish man killed in Pattaya, another one in Cha-Am and third died under strange circumstances in Phang-Nga during the last 10 days!

As being a Swede myself, I'm now happy to have relocated back to Sweden on a permanent basis.

I have noticed during my ten years in Thailand, farrangs are getting more and more targeted by the years.

I have also been here for a very long time and I can understand why you moved back to Sweden, still I don't know if Europe with all the recent muslim related attacks looks more appealing for my family to relocate to. Vietnam, Malaysia or Singapore is my back-up plan.

  3. Shouldn't it be up to the religious bodies to select and appoint thier head. The military shouldn't have any say in religion, the military has a specific role and it doesn't include politics or running religion. Imagine if the Chief of the Defence Force in Australia tried to dictate who will be the grand mufti, senior cardinal or any other religious head.

Who on gods earth does Prayuth think he is. People like Robert Mugabe, Idi Amin Dada, Saddam Hussain and a cluster of other like minded individuals have gained a title, is he trying to join this elite group?

    He joined this group 2014

  4. it's not unique just to LOS.

I do recall it is no different in Malaysia, where no ferenghi cannot be in a business, unless it is owned by 51% or more by a Malay

In Fiji, the indigenous ran the (big-business-man) Indians out of town (many becoming refugees to Australia) , and gave it all to the locals

SudAfrika had countless property owners lose all their property, and often their lives, to the majority locals

Financial racism is a world-over problem

In Malaysia, you can set up a 100% foreign owned Labuan registered company.
