There are men going to a foreign country buying sex/bodies/physical service with money. Some want true appreciation. Some even think they may and can own a person. Some do the same at their home country (or just country of origin cause home wasn t pleasing, but anyway) some won t as they are afraid. All this is common despite it is rather not socially recognized. Then there are participants who make a science out of it. What does that teach us? Do they never learn?

We f.e. got a great Panasonic for (i think i remember) 2800 Baht (there are cheaper ones that will do). You need proper installation. Check the ground wiring. Fix it today. As from the start: These things (and worse) have been very common for decades without trouble but the only statistical figures, of which you can become a part tomorrow.

Dear Members, looking forward to finally moving to Thailand (from Germany) kind of mid term (actually asap) there are more or less things my thai wife and me would like to bring along. Of course there is the matter of cost relation and personal preferences about what and how much of our stuff we may take with us. There always was this idea of thais having an allowance of personal household goods to import that is (as far as i have undertstood) false. Yet it must be possible to import used personal stuff. Most of it old enough to be of no real value, but some with at least some value that could be taxed even it is obviously for only personal use. And there are shipping cost and all this to handle. Therefore we also consider the use of a professional service, mostly because there will be enough to do for ourselves anyway AND we believe their professional routine may benefit the process to be smooth. In total the stuff may come up to a small container (with 2 or 3 pieces of furniture and even dishes my wife would like to take) but could be reduced to about 100 - 200 kg. That includes books, an old (2008) computer, screens and electronical instruments (really not worth much). Will you please give us your experiences and recommendations or even services you used to your satisfaction. Please accept my apology for language flaws for i am not a native english speaker. Wouldn t worry. Sometimes i was surprised what primer and color actually cover when they dried. Yet i would recommend two coats of color, if nessecary, rather then two coats of primer, because of course the real pigment is in the color AND i was told by a worker, it is not good to use two much primer. Still, if wax crayons are on, it is better to get off as much of it as possible with some paint thinner or alcohol. The color will cover the rest. Just try it out.

do the pessismist ever state that they are anything else but realistic? actually I am sure it is realistic that most in life works out well, a lot just focus on the bad so much, but that is a wide range to discuss. btw that famous kostolany said: i'd rather be an optimist, because it is the more joyful state of mind. The strange thing about some of the foreigners (and these people don't only act like that in thailand) are so very proud of their money, how much they got, how much they loose, how much they spend, how much they give to others, how much they are scammed, how much they make, how much they have taken form others.....how much power it gives them and how much they could possible ask for the money they spend or ive to somebody (like f.e. believe they can buy the body of somebody and even more). They actually think it makes them superior to have money or more money (despite they usually aren't any kind of billionaires or even really that rich). They believe it makes them better people. And they do value others by their financial status. Now when somebody else only values them by their money, they complain and get angry about it. Isn't it strange? Thai people are extremly loyal.

Lam is legendary. Has been nominated for the Thai Grammy once with his album "FOREVER KING" and known for decades ( since the 70's ) of the live music scene in Phuket, Samui, Bangkok and of course Pattaya. Met and played with him before in Samui (I had to do the bass cause he was on guitar ;-) see pics). Lam is a really cool, heartly, funny and easy going guy. Just what you expect from a Rock'n'Roller. as a german used to being blamed for anything people usually consider german i really enjoy the misspelling as i am convinced he was quite a bit of a wagbear as for the noise rant: there are worse things than that i would not do anything in "revenge" or provoke on purpose - it will pass how could they understand you are fighting against having fun? - i am not joking on the other hand the relaxed attitude allows me to turn up the music i like without people complaining or overreact. in germany the neighbour may call the police in less than half an hour on little loudness during the daytime (let alone after midnight). there are people moving from downtown to the countryside and pushing lawsuits against rooster shouts, cow sounds and churchbells.

Yes, of course. (thanx 4 the respect ???? ) I've never thought about it as anything special, despite i know expats who live in Thailand over 10 years and more, but do not even go to a restaurant (not to even think about food vendors) which does not serve western food and is actually made for foreigners as are the prices. - Somewhat in the old fashioned movies of world travelling heroes i have learned as a child, that it would heavily insult the host if you refuse his offers. That's why i have always gone the way to join. It's like a switch in my head that tells me: Comply. Finally what can you do in distant villages alone with no but none or anything but the food they got? All this is very much to the surprise of my mother who experienced their sons as choosy despite creating fantastic meals, but to be true, my intentions are selfish because i'm probably only after that hero image 555

Just to let you know: everything went well -maybe except a little strange airport staff member in Frankfurt who tried to wind me up but maybe wasn't familiar with the souvereignity of female isaan farmers who made it to a leading position in europe ???? - the young immigration officer at the entry counter in Suvarnabhumi was asking me questions but stamped me in without further problems after my explanation. Therefore it was good to have the onward ticket and the pink ID which always gives a good impression as far as i experience. The Test&Go (at that time) was also smooth, following the negative test we left. As acknoledged before our trip, the phuyai ban of the village expected us to inform him of our arrival. The person in charge accepted the arrival test because it was within 24 hours before we came. Otherwise they would actually wish to test us again. That would have been Ok for us. The test after day 6 was OK as well. Immigration in Thailand was very friendly and the extension absolutly "straight forward". Thanks again for the advice.

Christmas is the time christians (and some who do not define themselves as christians but still) celebrate the birth of christ (represented by jesus christ). Christ is the term for universal love. (The original word "christo" is ancient greek as far as i know and yes it is not a historical date of the birth of jesus from nazareth. the date is kind of symbolic, but that does not matter. - like all the known bhudda bones in the world would make a huge person, yet there must some be lost over the time. - it is spiritual/symbolic.) You may then point out the way the tree is decorated and children or even grown ups get gifts as a sign of love, the celebration and so on. The net and pics found there even with thai descriptions may help here. That may include the legend. For myself i experienced most thais, even in the far country side, being well aware of christmas as the birthday of jesus christ as a spiritual teacher of western beliefs. Of course they don't usually have much details, but so do the westerners.

Thank you DrJack54! Nevermind the 1900 Baht. (I actually didn't think that I may get a visa while inside Thailand.) So for the travel documentation in the Thailand Pass System do I better get sort of return onward ticket or because the documentation of th Thai Airways flights are on the same sheet for both of us?

Thanks again, but please unbonjoe: I have a Thai Airways Ticket. Same as my wife, for now 41 days, because it was the best deal for us and we are in the frequent flyer program. The Thailand Pass System asks for the duration of stay. If I put in 41 days they will ask for a visa I don't have. If I put in 30 days, will it work with the onward ticket? Is there anything special to know about the extension of the visa exemption? How long before the exemption ends may I apply for the extension? Is it actually possible to apply for a Tourist Visa via the eVisa online System from 22.November while I am already in the country. Please understand I am a bit nervous, because the trip is really important to us and coming to Thailand for over 30 years I never had any issues, because it was always well planned ahead and totally right.

Hi all, thanks for your thoughts, but don´t get it wrong: I got no Tourist Visa due to the lack of dates/possibility to get one in time for november. Otherwise it wouldn't be a problem: I'd just get the visa. And: No tricks or ways around (even if kind of legit). I don´t think that improves things. May I kindly ask for ubonjoe to clear up?

Kind regards, with the relaxed rules for entering thailand we are truely happy to plan our trip for the beginning of november. 1. We would like to stay for 42 days. Therefore a german national like me needs a tourist visa. The consulate in munich got no free dates till the end of november at least and the e-visa system will not start before 22.11. with no information yet about the time to process an e-visa. Is it under the current circumstances possible to enter on a 30 day visa exempt, if the ticket shows a return date only after 42 days and extend the visa exemption during the period of stay for 15 days more at the local immigration? 2. There are no direct flights from Munich to Thailand at the moment. Does the transit through another european country (on the list) affect the "need to stay in country 21 days before travelling"-rule? Just to be sure. Thank you
