I got in Bangkok extension of stay for 1 year with multiple re-entry. Second time now.

Required were:

Birth certificate

Mothers ID

Tambien Ban

Passport copies

Letter from Bank proving funds

6 pictures with the Kids

Requirements may vary on immigration officers discretion......

This should be a non-issue. Everyone should know how to dress appropriately.

If it wasn't for some bums, these signs would never have been placed.

I have my passport. They were going to collect if from me on the 29th sept and do the required run to immigration.

Does the passport have an "under consideration" stamp and report back date?

If so the go to immigration yourself on the 29th and they will tell you if the application has succeeded or failed.

This is exactly what you should do. Go yourself to immigration if you have the stamp saying "under consideration", on the date it says.

Thailand is as good of a place like many. I would stay but travel often.

Get a fulfilling hobby. Whatever it may be. Personally would start with building a great place to live. Then maybe a huge garage and tinker around with some old cars. A large vegetable garden. Off grid solar panels everywhere etc.

Then do something good. Let less fortunate people profit from your wealth. If you could combine it with one of your hobbies, even better.

Do Not buy friends.

I have never expirience anything like the OP describes. Treat people respectfully and usually same respect is extended back to you.

Yes, provided rules / charges are published.

Politely ushering them out would be the better option I think.

Would anybody really check? If it was not Singapore, but for example home country,then likely no stamp would show in the passport.

Anyway, my suggestion would be to go out for a nice meal and use economic hotel.

The police surely did not care much about the alleged girlfriend beating. Probably a he says / she says situation without proof either way.

The easy way to avoid lengthy proceedings was to deport him for his overstay. Fair enough.

Who knows what his reasons for overstay were. Without more detail we should refrain from judging.

If I get to buy a new pump I would buy a Mitsubishi with pressure tank.

The sister in law has such a model.

You hardly hear it working and it does not tend to pulsate.

"no good idea": the Hitachi is fairly loud and due to the missing pressure tank it goes to pulsate if you don't open the tap fully enough.

Two story house and use the 250W mitzubishi pump with Tank. Works great.

These figures would suggest the deaths during Songkran aren't that much higher than normal.

I just Googled that, not much in depth depth mind you, but Pink Panther seems to be about correct regarding number of fatalities.

Rather than concentrating on the holiday accidents, they should focus on all traffic accidents and law enforcement.

Back to the statistics, I am sure that for example weekends yield more accidents than for example Wednesdays. ..

Will see with a mechanic tomorrow. Unfortunately I won't be there, have some stuff to do in Europe....

Large size clothing is cheaper in US.

Overall we are doing much better here though. School fees are my only concern.

Did the reverse couple years back. 5 people in the car was more practical than flying, mainly for getting around in Phuket.

Drive was about 12 hours, coming from northeastern side of Bangkok and including 3 or 4 lengthy breaks. Key is really to start early and pass into prachup at dawn.

Today we noticed an oil leak under the wife's Vigo. It looked quite large. Since today and tomorrow all repair shops will be closed, I thought I might get your opinion of what may have happened and what kind of repair I should expect.

The car is a 2.7 Ltr. vvti Hilux Vigo. To me this looks like the oil is coming out of the filter, and maybe the filter is not closed properly. But I have no idea other than this wild guessing. I have attached two pics that may help identifying what happened.

I have a feeling it is something minor and would like to avoid the mechanic to "rebuilt" the engine.....

Scratch the existing tiles a bit, textured surface alone might not hold. Use good adhesive mortar, Crocodile brand etc. and follow instructions strictly.
