I came to Thailand to get away from toxic western women... Got a great job and stayed for seven years. Finally after all my shenanigans, I met my lovely wife... We moved to Australia for work, and now together 14 years and going great... Will retire back to Thailand in less than 5 years now. I can't imagine how my life would be if I hadn't made that move, but I doubt it would be satisfactory!

Do yourself a favor and get separate units, it will save you time and electricity bills

I like to pay for sex occasionally because I like variety at the drop of a hat without the need for commitment, implied or actual, except for the payment to leave. Plus I'm older now, not super wealthy, and can't be bothered with both the rejection or the time it takes picking up women for one night stands. Don't call us, we'll call you 😉

If you think looking at expats to find stupid people, you're looking in the wrong place, as they are able to either live there, vacation there, or retire there... so they must be somewhat successful and would probably be above 'average'... Now, look around at the people (not all, of course) stuck in their motherlands, wanting desperately to get out of their hopeless situation and blaming everyone but themselves, with no means, or capability to leave... and worse. We just returned (to Australia) from a 2 week holiday in Vietnam. After living and working in Thailand for seven some odd years, I can say it's still the best for us in SE Asia, possibly everywhere. Yes, Thailand has its quirks and annoyances, but it's beautiful and excellent in a wabi sabi / je ne sais quoi kind of way

I always thought of Diaper Don as the guy who can’t let anything slide, someone who’s obsessed with getting back at everyone he thinks has wronged him. Just about everything he does and says seems driven by spite and a relentless personal agenda—whether it’s about feeding his ego, settling scores, or staying out of jail. It feels less like leadership and more like a constant battle to serve his own interests above anything else, especially The People.

I always think, “Good for her.” Really? So she's lying to and scamming multiple guys out of their hard earned money and you think "Good for her"? She is the epitome of the deceitful woman. About these types, I always think "shame on them"!

Everyone has an agenda, and will change their whole ethos to get through a trauma (i.e. prison). When incarcerated, inmates will often turn to god as they don't have access to drugs and alcohol as on the outside... and appearing as god-fearing individuals that they weren't before they were caught, may pull on the heartstrings of the prison board they need to be judged by throughout their term. Could this survey be completely and obviously flawed?

Yes, It was MUCH better back then, but even in '95 I saw the beginnings of everything so much more so broken as we're seeing today. And also yes, in 2000, we saw the internet much more accessible for everyone in the world, and I truly believe that the internet <mixed with humanity> is to blame for the complete breakdown of cultures and society as we knew it all over the globe, despite it also being such a great turnpoint at the same time.

Thai people, especially workers from rural areas, prefer Thai food... you could have thought like a Thai person and taken a senior member aside and asked... Chicken: Probably 'Five (Ha Dao) Star Chicken' would have been more to their liking, or the easier to eat grilled pork/chicken on a stick Brownies: Thai workers probably won't want these types of things and often don't eat processed sweet stuffs... Green papaya with chilli sauce would have beena more accepted treat!

I met a lovely girl on a dating site Thai Cupid back around 2008, where I had narrowed down several great girls (from several different countries), eventually falling for this one Thai girl... After four or five trips, I decided she was the one, as we got along great. She found a house (in Bang Bon), purchased a pickup for me, I packed everything and moved to BKK back in 2009 to start our lives together. This lasted only about a year and a bit, but in the end, we weren't right for each other. We've remained friends to this day. Living in BKK as a single guy with a good gig for a western company, the town is your oyster... but it can take its toll if you can't throttle yourself. After we decided to call it quits, I went on a dating rampage (a bit like before we met)... and what a rampage it was; mostly with girls I met on Thai Friendly (when it was still somewhat new and not overrun by working girls)... Met a bunch of really great (and not so great but fun) girls on there too... There was a loose but full schedule. I've always found dating sites to be the very best way to meet girls... With the ability to filter down what you want (and filter out what you don't want), the choices become much better aligned with what you're looking for, and eventually becomes like the proverbial fish in a bucket, or in my case, ducks in a row. The hardest part at this point is narrowing them back down to 'the one' :-S The best way in my experience, is to try to not use the dating sites' algorithms, and to refine your own search criteria, as nefariously or wholesomely as you require! Finally ended up with a lovely lady from Surin that grew up on the family farm, but moved to BKK to work as an accountant to take care of the family. We've been together for just about 14 years now, and it just keeps getting better. We've lived in Australia since 2016, and purchased a plot in Hua Hin and we'll move back in 5 years or so to wind down and enjoy retirement.
