Yet the IO dowloaded and gave me a hard copy of what he said was the latest regulation 2.22  Item 5 is still listed as an option, can you quote any source which says this option was taken away, please? . after quoting me chapter and verse about the 65k per month rule - I waved my 800k deposit book and he just about creamed his jeans. He said - ignore the savings book. Just get the 800k bank book updated and bring me a certification letter from the bank, plus all the other documents which he has always asked for. any comments, anyone? tia

Look back over previous threads if you need evidence of the change. Probably a couple oy years ago now.....I used to transfer quarterly but was told that monthly was required - preferably the same date each month .

Pointing out he could be involved in bribery is factual not scaremongering. Using agents is not all above board, legal and honest and as a recent agent disappeared with money and passports sometimes disastrous. Using one just to do the paper work is totally different from being tempted into bribery just to save 800k in the bank. The fact that bribery and corruption is endemic is no excuse for being as bad oneself.

Thousands use reputable agents every day.

To generalise us scaremongering. The OP should have no fears if he takes the recommendations made on here.

Some people immoral people will always favour corruption when it benefits them, just don't start crying and blaming others when it does not work, or somebody runs off with your money or passport!

Corruption is a way of life in Thailand - endemic in the culture.

No need for scaremongering if the OP sticks with an established, recommended agent like Maneerat.

I think it's you that needs to change their attitude, you appear to view local girls as merchandise. What I see there is a picture of a couple of pretty local girls. Who they are, what sort of people they are, what they believe in, how they treat others, are thy decent human beings etc etc....I dunno and neither do you so quit the steriotypes.

Local girls don't dress like that.

Out of town girls who work bar and massage places do.

It's a bit both, I'm not ready to hang the pecker up for good just yet...but I am looking for a proper relationship, if I was just looking to get my end away there are cheaper and easier ways than flying to Thailand - thanks for your input mate, it is appreciated

    Cheaper and easier than Thailand?

    Please send details.

I have only scanned quickly through the posts…

    I am not the expert…

We successfully got a UK visitor's visa about one year ago with a detailed history of 10 years together, fortunately that included several trips together around Asia.

What I see is that they have capitalised on You state you are unemployed and spend 12,000 THB (£270.42) per month on living expenses.”

Don’t say you are unemployed – tick the box that says ‘retired’.

Also, are they twisting your payment of 12,000 baht a month to mean you manage to live on that amount for a month? Then deducing that you are saying you can live on same in UK?

I would not talk about how much I pay my partner or how much I spend each month in Thailand.

For me, that’s kind of irrelevant; I said nothing like that.

They want solid evidence of your assets, especially money/pension, to fund your stay in UK.

Also, looks like they need more evidence of reasons to return to Thailand?

BTW, the UK visa is 'easier' than the Schengen visa.

For Schengen you have to go through the farce of dummy hotel and dummy flight bookings, plus buy health insurance, on top of requirements similar to UK.

Nothing wrong with being a housewife who is fully supported by her sponsor/partner............worked for the 13 applications for my missus (plus many others).

There isn't actually a box for housewife.

You have been lucky,. I've clocked in 2 hours+.

Arrived on Saturday, lines stretched way out into and down the concourse, end could not be seen. From the looks of it 3 hours easy. Luckily I now qualify for the "Priority" lane due to age.

Same situation when I arrived at Swampy on 30th December; fortunately, I could go through the Thai lanes with my missus.

We had a long wait for baggage after quickly passing through Immigration. I realised that the carousel could not cope with 500+ passengers arriving on an A380 - especially when most of them were stuck in long Immigration queues. The baggage backed up and cases were 3 deep on the carousel when we left.
