  1. You have an allocated sort code and account number. If DWP and Mercer, for example, can pay direct to WISE then there is no reason for Standard Life not to........Attitude!.........
  2. Nobody cares if you have an issue or not. Your self-righteous approach is redundant; corruption is endemic in Thailand and here to stay. Using agents to make life easier is a natural course of action. I will be using an agent this year because I have a specific reason to do so. Please don't try and tell me that my extension stamp is any less legitimate than yours!
  3. Both ends. Just to add to the post from @sandyf WISE do not charge for UK domestic transfers either. So, GBP in from, say, HSBC - no charge; GBP from your WISE account to, say, HSBC - no charge.
  4. You must be very old,.........or very smart.
  5. More marketing! Enjoy that mercury with your Chinese Himalayan salt... https://www.facebook.com/reel/898024035377800?s=yWDuG2&fs=e&mibextid=Nif5oz
  6. Ha Ha. Who says marketing doesn't work!
  7. I didn't. Quite the opposite I hope.
  8. Ah, so now you are a culinary expert! Lord preserve us Go Celtic.
  9. Those of us 60+ realised that a long time ago. Not clinging to anything, just taking advantage of market forces and the availability of product - which is probably half our ages. When you get there you will know.
  10. Do the places you go to have Celtic salt?
  11. Chefs where I eat...........................or at least they think they are. That said, the best fry up I ever had WAS at a transport cafe on the A1....... coincidentally on the way way to watch Liverpool hammer the bar codes in the 1974 FA Cup final.
  12. That shouldn't be necessary, for most palates, if the chef has done his/her job properly. I accept it could be different for those used to an old transport cafe on the A1.
  13. Each individual case is different. If you are prepared to be a tad deceitful (and you have been anyway) just call the IPC in Newcastle and tell them that you have decided to reside permanently in Thailand. Since retirement you have struggled with English winters and, having regularly visited Thailand, you have now decided that you are unlikely to return. A friend did exactly that and they just said "you do realise that you will no longer be entitled to the annual increase"..........that was it.
  14. My GBP 708 every 4 weeks does more than keep me alive.
  15. You don't know much about the law, do you?
  16. Must be loads of job adverts around
  17. You are still not scaring me....................
  18. Less than you think they will do.
  19. Thaksin is the epitome of this element of Thai culture. Of course he robbed the country blind.............the Thais know that - but they also know he did some good for the country; being accredited with the 30 Baht health scheme for example
  20. 6 personally and another 6 minimum from friends comments over the last 18 years. You? But you are not interested in listening.................. @richard_smith237 summed it up for you. Stay in denial if you are happier with that.
  21. I have not come across, nor heard of, any Immigration office that is not corrupt.
  22. That question is better directed at Immigration - although there is an accepted convention in the west that 'families' are not split up. @theoldgitmay have more insight on that. IMO if you look like a couple then you will not have a problem; they didn't ask if we had been together for 18 years - or whether I had just barfined the missus!
