  1. You don't swap anything. The visa remains valid in the old cancelled passport and is carried to evidence visa status. The new passport will receive immigration stamps for entry/exit.
  2. Went 2 or 3 times about 10/12 years ago. I quite liked the feel of Pakse and I liked the French colonial feel of the old Champasak Grand (I think, stayed Champasak Palace on a later visit). Nothing special about the town and it did dingy areas (then so do several places in Cambodia). As I said, we found enough to do for 3 days by traveling around the area.
  3. To be fair..........................I can't really give you all my life history (or at least where Ubon girls are concerned) in one post about Pakse! ????????
  4. Stop jumping to conclusions without having all the facts - it can make you look stupid. My experience of Ubon girls is not in Ubon; they don't all live there you know......
  5. I found enough to do on a 3 day stay. ....including a temple visit, lunch on the river, a visit to an ethnic village and the Bolaven Plateau.
  6. I don't know Ubon, I only stayed there one night en route. My knowledge of Ubon girls is that they are prettier than girls in Pakse (although there were a couple of Vietnamese...........)
  7. I quite liked Pakse - and in easy striking distance of Ubon.
  8. I don't understand your last comment. I can't think of many situations where the owner of assets cannot control where they go.
  9. Thanks for the heads up. Just to clarify, are we talking about Prasat, Surin? - Presumably, t going south to north - towards Surin?
  10. Depends how long it takes you to die; depends whether you want someone to administer pain killers when you are writhing in agony and can't get off your ar5e, let alone get to the medicine cabinet. I am not trying to build a case for not being alone, I am just suggesting that people picture the potential end game. If they haven't already taken steps to ensure where/how their assets are going after death then they probably haven't considered that.
  11. PoA ceases on death. A Will is certainly worth thinking about. First think about what you want to happen to your assets and take from there. I have seen oved ones lose out on a lot of money because that didn't happen.
  12. Probably not, but I was alluding to the terminal phase before that.
  13. You do seem to be unnecessarily devoting an inordinate amount of time to this subject.
  14. As long as you have come to terms with dying alone, (worse, almost dying alone - and then dying BECAUSE you were alone) that is fine. Some people worry about that.
  15. Au contraire. Not invested in Thailand at all. What I spend in Thailand is from cash flow and once spent has gone - whether it be a house, car or monthly expenditure. I will never complete a tax return in Thailand. Period.
  16. Spot on. That is as much as we need to know for now. Others should not lose sleep over it.
  17. How sad that you let bu11sh1t like this control your movements (so to speak).
  18. Thank you very much for that. The last link I have used for a couple of years. The first link is very informative, and detailed. It supports my point (and therefore evidence for my friend) - but it doesn't explicitly state 15 days up to the due date; yes, I fully accept that it does say "Submit a request in advance before the due date for the next report within 15 days" - and that is good enough for me. However, I am dealing with friends where a beer often rests on being able to prove something right or wrong. I just know those friends will say.... "Ah yes, it says within 15 days but it doesn't say you can do it in the last 7 days"....I know, change my friends. Ironically, that old calendar does show a tick for all 15 days. Thanks again, I really like that first link.
  19. Where are you based? I pay 800 Baht for tailored shirts (used to be 600 Baht).
  20. Thank you @Liquorice. Do you have a link to that Immigration page - then I can file it for future reference. I am not being intentionally lazy but I have searched for ages to find the exact reference point without success. It is amazing how many people are still quoting 15-7 days before - including Key Visa website.
  21. Yes, I can see them stopping all the Cambodians returning through Poipet.
