  1. I've been to PMF last year. Couldn't figure out the kick of being on the longest/biggest pop-up market of Thailand with some live background music.....a real bummer.

    Regarding the traffic? Uhm yes..........

  2. So where on earth did he get the item to make the noose and why are there facilities in the cell to attach a noose? An extraordinary lack of duty of care, aren't people in custody monitored continuously?

About three years ago my youngest son killed himself in a police-cell in Chaweng, Samui.. He was monitored because he displayed very restless behaviour, but the officer on duty left the area for god knows what reason and although he was monitored, nobody was there to watch the monitor. When the officer left my son used a towel to make a nose.. They tried to resuscitate him for an hour, alas, he didn't make it. He was only 28 years young.. Leaving behind a son of three....Why he did it? Nobody really knows, he was detained for possession of a small doses marijuana, really no big deal...

Sorry to hear of your loss. Is there anywhere or anything people can do over here when they are feeling desperate?

There are different possibilities, counselars, psychiatrists, mediators......just Google, but that's easier said than done.

People in a desperate state usually do have other things on their mind, but most important is the people close to a desperate person. They usually notice abnormal behavior and they should act..........unfortunately the Thai people close to a desperate person prefer to mind their own business, especially if the desperate person is a farang.

The "funny" thing about the newspaper article is, that at first they are talking about high foreigner-suicide numbers and then they give us just examples of Russian attempts.

The Russians........I know quite a few and they can roughly be divided in 2 groups........as arrogant as hell OR forced humble because of the very low self-esteem they're suffering from.

Anyway....whatever eason lies behind this case.....we'll never know....it's sad

  3. NOT the new passport and the possible transfer of ........... what?

There is nothing to transfer, because your visa has expried and you don't seem to have an extention (or maybe the last extention has expired)

So, travel to any country (I suppose) and upon leaving Thailand take both passports, because your departure card is related to your old passport.

The MAY put some stamp in your new passport regarding the overstay, but that doesn't HAVE to mean anything.

  4. Pattaya and jumpers..........well.........Pattaya is well known for its spectacular view and since the one and only viewpoint is blocked by a new high-rise people have to find another "view-point"

Once up on the roof the view is so desillusional that there is just one thing left to do...........rolleyes.gif

  5. The TOT ADSL here on Thepprasit Soi 8 has been really poor for about two weeks. Yesterday it came back a bit and today it's not been too bad at all. I'm getting very tempted to change to True as my neighbours in the village here say it's excellent.

Here's what I was getting a few days back:

    attachicon.gifTOT crap.jpg

Honestly, that's dial-up modem speed, not ADSL! sad.png

    attachicon.gifTOT crap 3.jpg

It couldn't even complete the damn speed test!

So it's Guderian.......downloading multiple series in one time.............sad.png

  6. That's the general problem with Thai people on the phone.

They tend to phone while in a busy office, room, factory, disco or in the middle of traffic.

Just count how many times they say: "Arai na or arai wa?"

Repeat, repeat, repeat and that's not only with foreigners........same happens among Thais.
