So the police didn't have the guts to arrest her and had to call the army.
Says a lot about them.....................
A bright example of "not taking responsibility"; they probably told the army: "it's your martial law, you come to arrest her"

Frikandellen (Dutch) or Curryworsten (Flemish) were on offer some time ago, but they may be still on offer since several Dutch/Belgium establishments have them on the menu.
Try to find out at Holland/Blegium House off Soi Neun Pleb Waan and ask for Eric.
For the Germans........"Frikadellen" (platgeslagen gehaktbal voor de Nederlanders) is not same as "frikandellen"

I didn't know there was a Danish Consulate in Pattaya...........now I have to classify this knowledge as not-relevant.

I have been informed (Thai wife ) that the east side has been opened up again i.e back to normal. no barriers on SCC, Nerplubwan and Khow Noi.
Yesterday i noticed that Khao Talo is also 2 way from Sukhumvit
I think that they only put up the barriers if it is extremely busy and that makes things worse..........one day everything is ok and the next day everything is closed.....no consistency!!

The buses coming from BKK go all the way to Dolphin Circle to turn. This probably adds 20-30 minutes to route under current conditions.
I go to BKK and back a lot. This is going to hurt. Every day there's another reason to abandon Pattaya.
Kaoboi, if you go to BKK on a regular base, why don't you take the Pattaya-Suvarnabuhmi Airportbus from Jomtien (Pratamnak - Food Mart).
From the airport you take the airport-link in to Bangkok, with different possibilities to switch onto the BTS/MRT
Moving away from Pattaya because of this (among other reasons)? Wouldn't do that........ok...unless you're about to change country.
This situation may take 810 days or maybe even 1,100 days, but Pattaya and the people in it will adjust rapidly:
- people find other ways to do their shopping, get laid or get drunk
- entrepeneurs and other good-doers find ways to make money out of this
- of course the 1st and the 2nd group meet up pretty soon
This THE chance for the "dard side" to lighten up.

boike, that's probably because they are one of the few if not the only one in Pattaya taking care of this visa.
I tried to find an agent some years ago, but nothing.
In Bangkok there are plenty.

What if there were a Foodland, about 3 times the size of the one on P. Klang, located about 6 kms east of Sukhumvit? Would it do any business?
Isn't there anybody with both brains and money enough to do this?!
Well Patsfarang, what would you say, if Foodland moves to the current BigC Extra at Klaang, since they copied their "Extra" concept to BigC South Pattaya.
A Foodland 6 km East of Sukhumvit........feasable? Don't think so.

CADNOY, ask your school if they are willing to keep your WP alive until you leave the country.
If they are willing to extend your stay with 7 days and possibly pay for it, you could offer them:
- the school can save their efforts and money of the 7 day extension
- you will pay the last month of income-tax to the school if THAT is the problem for the school.
Basically there should be no problem anyway, since the school is closed from the end of March I guess.
Anyway, it will save you a border-run and it will save the school THB 1900 on the extension.
Easiest solution!!

The only BIG thing that opened up recently along Sukhumvit is a HomePro, close to Boonthavorn, but who knows....there might be a hidden BogC too
-
Beware: those new "rule" may only be applicable in Jomtien

So sad.....RIP

Well, you could try Boy Air & Sound along Sukhumvit in Banglamung.
Drive Sukhumvit Northbound, pass the traffic lights near FN Factory Outlet and take the next U-turn; immediately move to the left lane. Approx. 100 meter before the PTT gas station you'll find them.

Comfort yourself guys, on many occasions vehicles, parked at a red-white zone are being fined or even impounded (motorbikes).
Ok, not in all places, but it's happening.....be assured.

As far as I can gather from 1st hand experience and more hand experiences in this thread traffic re-arrangements cause an isolation of the dark side.........a dark Side which will get brighter and brighter during construction.
-
And what about alcohol on the beach? I guess that they are also not allowed to sell alcohol.........another bummer for them.
-
They also have glasses ;-)
Glasses that will satisfy my need for nicotine? Wow!!

Traffic around/near Central can be horrendous in weekends and during weekday rush hours.
The only good thing is, that there is a connecting road which connects Sukhumvit (near Central) with the Chonburi bypass and the #7.
The only problem then is that the exit at the #7 for Hemaraj is congested.
Most important is in my opinion the place where you settle; it'll be your home and the place you like to return to after work.
It's also a place where living is convenient and where you can build on a professional and social network. Muang Chonburi isn't really a place where I would like to live again.
-
I didn't want to put it so harsh, but you're right.Chon buri sucks for a farang, its so boring. Traffic is crazy. Live in pattaya.
-
The only positive thing about all this is that entrepreneurs on the dark side will benefit.
Instead if struggling across and through all kind of traffic-rearrangements, people will stay on their dark side.
Regarding shopping at Foodland: if you're a night owl, go in the nighttime.

Damn.......a poster takes the effort to post valuable information but unfortunately the link as mentioned got lost or was forgotten.
Immediately all kind of "ūbermensch"-like of people start moaning about this.
Long live the close expat-community in Pattaya.
If you would like to know about the traffic flow on Sukhumvit, get on/in your vehicle and drive/ride from East to West (or v.v.) crossing Sukhumvit

Basically you made your choice and you'd like to hear from us why you definetely should live in Chonburi.
If you pick a location to live on the "dark side" of Pattaya near the #36 and the #7, you're pretty close to Hemaraj; even better would be close to the #331.
The best area could be around Mabrachan Lake with loads of accommodation available.
For your wife and her study.......yes Chonburi is closer to Bangkok, but there are direct connections from Pattaya to Suvarnabuhmi Airport and using the Airportlink into town will get your wife where she wants to be.
Chonburi is an industrial city and is basically a "dead" city after 8 p.m., apart from some establishments in Ang Sila and Bang Saen.
Traffic from and to Chonburi can be a pain and especially with the new toll-way (#7) coming up, it may become busier than ever.

Following a tip off.......there you go.

Emergencies as mentioned are being taken care of anyway. What about the "small" personal emergencies?
