  1. haven't seen that one, but today i drove around and took a left from Pattaya North past tesco down towards Central Big C/Fish Restaurant and there has been a big area cleared out there and a sign saying J-J Market coming soon. JJ is the name of the biggest market in BKK and also some a few other cities in Thailand have their own JJ market.

So it looks like 'market season' is coming to Pattaya.

Great. I think that the shopping-opportunities in Pattaya are poorly represented. smile.png

  2. First of all: a visa-run is a trip to a neighboring country in order to obtain a new visa at the nearest Thai consulate or embassy.

A border run is a short trip to the nearest border-crossing in order to activate the next period of stay.

A non-immigrant visa will give you 90 days (or 365 days, depending on the kind of non-immigrant visa)

A tourist visa will give you 60 days (which can be extended with another 30 days at the nearest immigration office near you)

No visa (visa exempt) will give you 15 days.

For a border run you won't need any particular document apart from your passport and departure card.

For a visa run you need all the necessary documents as described on the http://www.mfa.go.th/main/en/home website

  3. I think it has all to do with after-sales and repair policies.

There are matrixes of faults and errors and solutions to solve them.

Often new software or new hardware is solving the problem although a much cheaper way is on hand, like the unlocking activities of tukcom.

I did experience the same with my Nokia N86 who froze and crashed on a regular base.........they offered replacement of sliding-parts, display and some hi-tech part for the amazing sum of THB 4800. The phone is in a drawer now and I bought a cheap Samsung which works well.

  4. The Thais are upset again..........first the Buddha's on mobile toilets in the Netherlands, a few days later the shopping Katoey at IKEA and now a parody on Thai language-courses.

All farang-related and so..........something to complain about.

Ever seen the Thai comedy-shows where there is a lot of talking crap, where retarded Thai and katoeys are subject to brutal physical and mental abuse......and where all unwritten rules of social behavior are thrown down the drain??

Of course no complaints from Thai.........they are laughing their brains out and are occupying their single brain cell!!

  5. This one is one of a secular sick brain who has no feeling about religion ....

Must be the same one of secular sick brain who allowed a huge billboard of Adolf H. along Sukhumvit some years ago to promote Ripley's Believe it or not, or the same sick brain who allows the sale of German war-helmets. Of course, the same sick brains are wearing them.

  6. Who I am with?

Condo wise: 3BB through a network offering me a 1MB dowload and 512Kbps upload. Not quite happy. Cost THB 0.00

Tablet wise: AIS 3G H+ UMTS HSPDA what ever..........average speed 3MB down and 1Mb up......during peak hours even 6kbps download and 2kbps upload........absolutely NOT happy. Cost THB 899/month

  7. I live in Bang Saen and I'm using the AIS "3G", UMTS, HSDPA, H+ or whatever great qualification it is given.

During peaktimes, the speed goes down to a whopping 6kbps download speed.

Sometimes, the speed will reach 3Mb download...........stunning.

Thailand is far from 3G although AIS is pretending to have their 3G network up-and-running in March 2013.

  8. the fact that he did the deed in full public view leads to the conclusion he was crying out for help and didn't really want to die

Can't a man have a few without the family having a go at him? Who is the beadwinner in the family? My guess it's the Frenchman. I hope he will be alright.

I think that the family wasn't nagging about a few, but more about a "few".

Being a breadwinner doesn't you allow you to do whatever you like. You have to take care and respect the ones who you are winning the bread for.

  9. It's not just Pattaya or Thailand. This is a problem the world over. There's a whole generation with no work ethic, no skills to offer and a huge sense of entitlement. My wife, Thai herself and a hard worker, despairs when employees show no interest in working and just disappear after a few days or weeks.

    You're right, it's a mentality/attitude/loyalty thing.

Has nothing to do with background, study-level or intelligence, you will find it everywhere. Even signing labor-contracts, asking for 'warranty-money' or delaying payments of bonuses/commissions......it doesn't matter.
