The parking at Swampie has nothing to do with the law, the government, the police or any other official institute other than AOT or the tenants of the building.
There is security 24/7 available and most probably they have been paid a few baht to allow parking there; if not........the owner/tenant could just tow away the cars and put them on the "long-term-parking" in the burning sun causing the Lamborghini to melt down to its aluminium chassis.

AFAIK Immigration also a letter from the bank stating.....whatever.
Is this letter linked to the current bankbook or does it also mention former accounts?

OP, I hear ya - I live up near the same school, but I find the dogs in the houses below my apartment block far more annoying than the music from the school or that bloke who drones on every afternoon. Having experienced the Muslim call to prayers in Malaysia, I'm confident that would annoy me more than the school but right now I have to deal with a Thai woman snoring - headphones and heavy metal all the way
Talking about dogs........in the 2 houses opposite mine are residing 6 + 3 dogs; 6 bang kaews and 3 whatever brand.
They are ignited by every move in the Soi, passer-by, garbage-recycler, food-cart, garbage-truck.....just everyone.
At some point I decided to give the barking tw*ts a cold shower, but that wasn't very smart..........the owner of one of the homes wasn't amused.
Anyway, what ere the possibilities regarding this issue apart from moving?

Pretty sad when a couple not bothering anyone is attacked for no reason and robbed. LOSO Thais strike again and even if these brain dead zombies are caught they will be fined 500 baht or so and let go. This country is going to the dogs due to the corrupt Police and retarded locals
You're so right.......as if it is important WHERE those people want to be romantic, WHAT the table looks like, HOW the Chinese wine tastes..........people should try to respect themselves and respect others accordingly.

Approaching your embassy asking for a new passport may result in their question for your old passport. If not on hand, they'd like to see an official document from local authorities "why?"
Whatever happens.....in one or the other you have to prove that you are who you are.........and yes......they will find out that you are not the person that you say you are (??). So far your embassy.
For immigration.........without passport or replacing document (laissez fair ?) it's impossible to leave without consequences.
Not having a departure card is not a real disaster; you can fill in a new one.But if that works with a new passport.........they may want to know the reason of not having a dept card + police report.....

You are being taken to the cleaners with the so called Visa Agent It is not 5000 baht
The rate is 1900 for 30 days
Tell immigration they are scaming
Easier said than done........many people's existence in Pattaya is depending on the local Immigration.
The only thing one could do is to notify the Metropolitan Immigration in Bangkok, Ministry of Domestic Affairs or the Anti-Corruption Council in Bangkok.
The reply in all 3 cases might be...........
1. An extension of a visa-exempt is meant to be an emergency-matter
2. If you know that you are going to stay longer than 30 days........you should have obtained a tourist-visa.

I was in Holland and they are pissing all over the place there.
Must be all that Heineken?
True dat.
In the freakin' CANALS no less!
The only difference with Thailand is, that you will be fined if caught..........Euro 100 or THB +/- 4,000
In Thailand you will only get fined if the urination-activity bothers other people and be honest.........who is really bothered apart from JT?

I was a bit surpised to find Eurostar in Soi 1 off Jomtien Beachroad.
There is the Eurostar on the corner and the International Eurostar into the Soi.
Important.........in the Soi there are no bars......just some hotels.
No noise from traffic or bars around.
Rooms are okay, pool on hand. BF a bit so-so....but there are other possibilities nearby.

I thought that the guys behind the advertising-boards sponsored the police-boxes

300 tickets........on how many passers-by?
Jeeezzz......don't they have better things to do?
Well, out approx. 250 out of the 300 tickets will end up at lease-companies, banks, rental-companies or loan-sharks.....

Easiest way to find out is to go to the police, pay whatever fine you owe and ... bingo!
Unless you can' t.
that's not the issue WwWw........the OP is looking for his bike.
He doesn't seem to have a document stating what he did wrong, so it doesn't make sense to go down to the police station.
BTW.....the OP is guessing that his bike is impounded....not even sure.
Starts to look like a needle in a hay-stack.
-
I don't know those specific "low mileage 2nd hand bike-shops" but I noticed the other day, that Mityon has a huge amount of 2nd hand bikes displayed at their repair-center along South Pattaya road (from Sukhumvit towards the beach, approx. 400 meters past the entrance to Big C.)

Samsung phones are region locked when purchased. If they are used to make 5 minutes of calls in the region where bought then the lock goes away. It is done to try to stop grey market sales.
Thanks. I could understand that. Logical.
By the way, when you buy a Samsung mobile in Europa, you don't get warranty in Thailand and vice versa.
Yes most phone sold in Thailand have a Thailand only warranty,
but I doubt a lot about the "and vice versa"...
AFAIK phones from Samsung, LG, Apple,... sold in France - by example - have a worldwide warranty.
I got this information from the Samsung Service Center in Pattaya at the Suk. If true or not...i don't know. I bought my Samsung phone in Thailand. Also my Samsung Notebook.
Not entirely true, at least not until 2 years ago......I bought a Galaxy S Advance in Holland and was told that my warranty was Worldwide.
I did go to the SS Service Center once and they helped me out after they checked the IMEI and the warranty date.
Things could have been changed of course.

Well it said so on the tlf and on the box too
I highly doubt Samsung has any mobile phone manufacturing plants in Italy. Maybe it said something like it was made for the Italian market or something to that affect. You should have noted the serial number of your phone before you handed it over for service. And another thing, why did you go to Tuk Com to service your phone, as you seem to have had bad prior experiences there, and not to either the official Samsung store at Central Beach mall or the Samsung Service center?
Going to the Samsung store or Samsung Service Center may result in a new motherboard.......@THB 4,800 at least!!

I find this fascinating ! My visa was due to expire Jan 3rd. So I went Dec 29th, just to make sure I will be ok ...
Everything was done in time, no worries, no headaches ....
I don't get it why some people take the chances and leave things to the last minute specially during holidays ...
luudee
Those people also invented last-minute travel bookings......a booming business, so I guess that the OP isn't the only one, but on the other hand, if you don't know that you can get an extension a few days before the expiration date without losing days, it will happen to a lot more people.

It's just freakin' amazing, that you left your bike somewhere (wrong or right parked) and police takes it to some dodgy place (one out of 10 or 15 locations) and it's up to the bike-owner/rider to find out where.
The last impound place I know of is inside Soi 50/1 off Sukhumvit (very close to the Sukhumvit-Thepprasit Junction).

That's probably because the Welcome Jomtien Beach hotel Is Russian owned.......bringing mainly Russian clientele and so the Soi itself will be Rusdian focused.Soi Welcome in Jomtien is a Russian Soi.
Yesterday it looked like low season there.

Driving atiitude........?
At the moment I do have a Thai family over from Bangkok.
They usually come by bus or minivan, but this time they're able to come by their "new" car.
I was a bit puzzled that they took 3 hours from Bangkok to Central Pattaya, but when the driver asked me to park the car under the carport I found out that he didn't a driver-license.
Today we went to Nong Nooch Gardens at the amazing speed of 60kmh.
I just don't understand how he dares to take his family and family-in-law into traffic without having the confidence and driving abilities.

A similar discussion was hold a few weeks ago about leaving by air; do not officially enter the destination country and return to Thailand without Immigration stamps of the country you visited: NO problem to re-enter Thailand.
Seems to be different with land-crossings; there you need to be able to show entry and exit stamps of the country visited; in this case Laos.
So if that's really the case and you leave Thailand to gamble for a few hours and re-enter Thsiland.......will your stay be renewed with the applicable period eg 15, 30, 60, 90 or even more days?
-
It's even better: he not only need to bring his passport, but he also needs a copy of the name page, visa-page + last extension if on hand and a copy of his departure card.
And then of course some proof of address eg rental agreement, utility bill or otherwise.
BTW always take your passport when doing "business" at Immigration

I guess you mean at nights.........
AFAIK there is no transport (regular) between Pattaya and Bang Saen during the night.
The white song-taews stop driving from 8 p.m.
Maybe that there are some buses driving up to 10 p.m., but after that time......?
A metered taxi or a private taxi would be the only option

I think there's no issue.
On the 30th there's the Exodus outbound BKK.
On the 3th and 4th the exodus inbound BKK.
In between those dates BKK is as good as a ghost town.

I am not so familiar with the system but would that be a situation that would merit calling Grab Taxi to complain?
A trip from just into the dark side to Central would cost 64-96 baht.
Without "grab" it cost 200-300 baht.
I guess that the "Grab Taxi" is without taxis soon.

Smart arsed? BMW = Bayerische MOTOR Werke or in plain English: Bavarian Engine Factories.
And apart from cars they also produce motorbikes and probably a lot more.
PROBABLY? so you do not know?
They certainly do not produce helmets called BMW 3 series.
They DO however produce BMW 3 series vehicle, actually a number of different versions.
And this is not PROBABLY, but pretty much DEFINITELY.
"Pretty much".......so not sure after all
