  1. 26 October 2017.........the most important day of the year if not the most important day of the last 70 years in Thailand.

Not a single word in the news section and just concerned posts in the regular Pattaya forum section about opening and closing of entertainment venues on that day.

What's happening on or with TV?

  2. Uber and Grab are illegal yes, but only because some government hill-billy in Bangkok thought he could do it better and started his own taxi-booking-app..........well at least that was the plan.

    Never heard of it eversince.

You can talk to Khun Suchart at the Honda showroom in N Pattaya, they are located a couple of clicks past the hospital on Sukhumvit.

I have purchased two CRVs from him over the years,  no problems with the cars, with the service or with the staff.

He speaks perfect English and is most helpful without being pushy.  His office is to the left of where the sales girls sit in the showroom.

I have no idea about the sales girls that work there as I have never dealt with them.

Yeah, Khun Suchart, with his Japanese looks is really good. Service minded and a great English speaker.

I've good experiences with the Honda dealer in Na Jomtien. Great location, good service and a very convenient waiting area while the car gets its service.

If it is only one day one could argue it is a result. Did I not read parts of Phuket/Bangkok are stopping for 3 days?

    May be very well possible.

23rd is Chulalongkorn day which is a National Holiday and probably booze-free.

In order to enable people from all over Thailand to head for Bangkok for the former King's cremation, a lot of venues will be closed for a few days.

  5. They're still there; volonteers at traffic police, highway police, city police and tourist police.

I know a few personally and one of them is translator at Soi 9.

  6. best time of the day.......early morning from 8.30

    23rd and 26th closed

If it's 'just' your re-entry permit, get a new one. Forms at Immigration and take a copy of your passport incl. 2 passpics.

If the automation system works at Immigration, and you old passport number is mentioned in your new passport, you may be lucky.

I hope you didn't loose your non imm. visa

But they do get the wrong people sometimes and also the "accuser" is sometimes "accusing" for dubious reasons.

Can't comment on this case but it has happened before and an innocent man's life was torn apart after being named on Thai media.

That's soo right. In Thailand, as in many other countries, a suspicion is enough to detain people and they have to prove their innocence.

In many other countries you will be detained for the same suspicion, but that's to prove guilt.

In the meantime the 2 have been convicted by the Thai media.

Seriously? How long does the bus take?

Bus 1 hour and 40 minutes from Pattaya to Bangkok Ekemai and 2 hours from Bangkok Ekemai  to Pattaya (THB 120)

BTS to Asoke 20 minutes (THB 35)
Taxi from BTS Asoke to your final destination is about THB 80-100

If you carry easy to go luggage, this is the way to go

  9. At this particular point (beginning of Soi 53, Soi Muslim or Soi Neun Pleb Waan) there were several fires last year and the beginning of this year, causing a long down-time of the internet and damage to buildings.

There are a lot of other locations where cables come out of the bundle dangling over the street damaging cars and causing bikers to crash.

Instead of reporting this issue, Sophon could start to organise their part of the spaghetti.

Where are you now?  I was in Saigon this year and it was a lot more free spirited than current puritanical Thailand.

I settled down in Sofia instead. A lot of things are similar to Thailand, but the weather is a lot more bearable.

People, traffic, corruption and difference between rich and poor can be compared to Thailand.

Not that I'll be a anti-Thailand moaner, but after 14 years it was time to move on.

The only thing is, that from a distance I see going the country going down the drain and countries around, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar are taking over...tourism, economy and prosperity.
