  1. Beware of changing your "main package" with post-paid services.

I was using the 599baht; 300 free call-minutes and 1.5Gb internet option, but since I don't call that much and mostly use wifi due to the crappy 3G I decided to scale down to:

299baht: 100 free call minutes and 500Mb internet.
I did this online using the AIS Eservice-website and I applied for the change on the 19th (my bill-cycle runs from the 12th until the 11th of every month)

Yesterday I got my monthly bill:

the 599baht package was fully charged

the 299baht package was partly charged, starting from the 19 th

I called 60 minutes more than the new package allows and was charged according to the new package, rather than to use the old package.

I contacted 1175 (AIS Call Center) and asked what was going on:

The friendly lady explained the AIS policy that in case of changes during the bill-cycle the old package will be charged fully and the new package will be charged from the date of its start.

I asked the lady if this was fair, since there is nothing on their website warning for this policy and she answered:

"Maybe it's not fair, but it's the company's policy, however, I will take care of the charges of the new package; they will be deducted from your next bill and i advise you next time: If you would like to change your package, call 1175 and let the chance be effective from the new billing-cycle".

  2. As with all governments, government's offices and law-enforcement officers..........wherever in the World: 50% is frustrated and thinking on how to make people's lives as miserable as possible and the other 50% is enforcing the weird ideas of the first 50%.

We think that those kind of actions is strictly against foreigners (d_amn.....immigration is for foreigners)........anyway.......also Thai suffer under the regime of locally made up rules and regulations.

  3. As with most postal pieces and courier-items from abroad; upon arrival at the port/airport the packages will be randomly "stickered".

The stickered packages/items will undergo the regular customs clearance and that's what you pay for.........THB 200 clearance, THB 100 overtime for customs, somewhat THB 500 for paperwork and some other crappy charges + VAT of course.

Again: Not ALL, but randomly, that's why one gets a bill from customs and another one gets nothing (extra) charged.

  4. There will be no accidents over the coming weekends........with Valentines and the Chinese New Year coming up, the traffic will be completely grid-locked, so speeding is out of the question.....I guess.

Apart from that........the re-surfacing of the Sattahip bound part of Sukhumvit between Soi 69 and 75 is still going on, but now it's the 2nd lane from the left. Be prepared!!

  5. Someone "up there" doesn't agree on the tunnel-project either...........at least someone who understands "us".

But hey....one positive thing is.............after completion of the project in 2020 some bright light at cityhall will propose the extention of the tunnel pass Thepprasit Road and the extra pumps that are being installed at Beach Road will be relocated to the Klaang-tunnel........

  6. It's a bit of a guess, but those coaches seldom use the orignal exit-lane of a U-turn otherwise they won't be able to make the U-turn in one move.
Probably the coach used the right "through traffic" lane and that was misjudged by the minivan driver.

However, it happened again......a minivan in a major-crash and what I guess could also be guessed by the minivan driver....I suppose.
