I agree with everything you say and can't think of anything else to add to the list. I would love to own another XJ6 Jaguar but a half decent one cost anything over 10,000 baht here and only worth a little over a thousand pounds in UK.
10,000 baht ???

Waste of paint! What paint? All over Thailand they are either worn out or have become dark grey.
Sure your not talking about the Police force ?

Oh dear... Apologies for commenting so negatively on this, it's probably not what you want to hear...
Wait a couple of years and get her an old car... Much safer than having a child ride around on a scooter.
I sincerely hope this does not turn out to be the most heartbreaking decision you have ever made.
The safest scooter out there:
Yamaha Tricity - 155cc ABS... It has the best stability with two front wheels, it has the best and most stable braking with ABS.
Left brake lever applies brakes to both front and rear wheels. Right brake lever applies brakes to front wheels only.
Thought they were discontinued?

This is a 2016 series about a different story. The 2018 tv series is a sci-fi drama set in the underwater future(I think)!!!

Is that a movie, TV series, documentary, what?
IMDb is your friend. It looks a good tv series but cannot find it anywhere (inc TPB)

Seems really expensive to me. 1-7m Baht for a pick-up. That's roughly 40k in UK money. Won't see any in my neck-of-the-woods if this projected price is near the mark.
Why?
Is there no corruption there either???

Seems a bit slow this season, to me.
I’m enjoying The Looming Tower more.

Homeland 's back
The looming Tower is better IMO

If you read post 11, and then ask yourself can a Thai teach construction then you can answer your question yourself.
The English teachers need to have English as their first language otherwise the Thai government wouldnt even give them a job. ......lol
Then why are there so many from Cameroon here & other countries?
I know a lot of non native English speakers working over here (I work with a Swede in my Uni, for instance).

Yes I watched both series.
I couldn’t bring myself to watching the US version after living with the Gallagher clan for so long. I love many American shows but rarely comedy comes across the water well IMO?(office/little Britain)

If you want to learn Thai go to Bangkok or Hua Hin, if you want to learn Lao go to Issan
Or Khmer.

I would recommend Mueang Surin. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mueang_Surin_District Surin City is about 50,000 and is about 70km from the Chong Chom Borders crossing into Cambodia. You will find just about everything your looking for and the price you stated. There is a large community of western english teacher in Surin. You will find a vibrant nightlife on Soi Kola. Surin locals speak Thai and Khmer and some Lao. My wife speaks all plus english. I have a good Aussie friend who is a digital nomads who stays in Chong Chom which is the crossing and does his work online. Personally I thank you well have a great time.
Agree with the above but must add, a place with a pool will be a bit hard to find but not impossible.

Six part series.
Very sympathetic to the massacred cult members in a fresh way.
Thanks for the ‘spoiler’
Really appreciated!

We are planning on moving from the UK to Khon Kaen in a few years time and I will be 50 and my thai wife of fifteen years will be 48. Da has a UK degree in linguistics with tesol from Salford uni. She is a determind kind of gal and will try any business or could teach, translate etc. Myself on the other hand, is a different story. I`m a tools man, kitchen fitter and not the accademic type, certainly never be a teacher!
We will have supplimented income from two appartment rentals in the uk but we do want to earn in LOS also. We are not looking to retire but are looking to get out of the UK! We have a house to live just south of the Khon Kaen ring road and no rent to pay, no monthlys to pay apart from the usual domestic bills.
Would I be excluded from any type of business activity? I would be there on a spouse visa. My concern is not being able to get involved with business projects, or do my own thing. I know I won`t be able to find work (unless kitchen designer, project manager is needed) so what kind of things do people get involved in? buying and selling? general running around for the wifes business interest?
I`m into classic cars and should be able to find an old banger to tinker with but need to fill the days with something productive and idealy earn a little.
Paul.
Hi Paul
Lots of classic cars over here rotting away. Maybe that could be something your wife could build on?
I do agree with you about finding something to do, be it hobby/sport/wife’s work, as it’s too easy to become a hermit or a bar-stool expert over here!!!!
Whatever you decide, my advice is keep it quiet from neighbors & other Farangs. Do not expect to make easy money over here, even Thais are struggling here in Isaan.
Best of luck!

Hi I was looking for some information regarding teaching english in Ubon.
I'm married to a Thai so hopefully visa not a problem.
Wondering if TEFL certificate is enough and also is there work in Ubon ?
Thanks

I’m sure there must be work in Ubon for teachers with a degree and under some circumstances, without one. Please ensure whoever you work for, provide a Work Permit as some agencies seem to think that it’s not so important.

Nor me. Vote with your feet.I personally would not frequent a place again if I was charged 40bht for ice, and am sure most Thai folk wouldn't...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure if I mentioned this but I have somewhere in Thailand to stay for free, a sizeable chunk of cash when I sell my UK house, and probably less than 10 years before I kick the bucket.
I bet there would be hoards of ladies lining up, to look after you here!
