  1. Oh dear... Apologies for commenting so negatively on this, it's probably not what you want to hear...

Wait a couple of years and get her an old car... Much safer than having a child ride around on a scooter.

I sincerely hope this does not turn out to be the most heartbreaking decision you have ever made.

    The safest scooter out there:
Yamaha Tricity - 155cc ABS...  It has the best stability with two front wheels, it has the best and most stable braking with ABS.
Left brake lever applies brakes to both front and rear wheels. Right brake lever applies brakes to front wheels only.

    Thought they were discontinued?

  2. If you read post 11, and then ask yourself can a Thai teach construction then you can answer your question yourself.

The English teachers need to have English as their first language otherwise the Thai government wouldnt even give them a job. ......lol

Then why are there so many from Cameroon here & other countries?

I know a lot of non native English speakers working over here (I work with a Swede in my Uni, for instance).

  3.    I would recommend Mueang Surin.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mueang_Surin_District     Surin City is about 50,000 and is about 70km from the Chong Chom Borders crossing into Cambodia. You will find just about everything your looking for and the price you stated. There is a large community of western english teacher in Surin. You will find a vibrant nightlife on Soi Kola. Surin locals speak Thai and Khmer and some Lao. My wife speaks all plus english. I have a good Aussie friend who is a digital nomads who stays in Chong Chom which is the crossing and does his work online. Personally I thank you well have a great time.

Agree with the above but must add, a place with a pool will be a bit hard to find but not impossible.

I’m sure there must be work in Ubon for teachers with a degree and under some circumstances, without one. Please ensure whoever you work for, provide a Work Permit as some agencies seem to think that it’s not so important.

  5. Not sure if I mentioned this but I have somewhere in Thailand to stay for free, a sizeable chunk of cash when I sell my UK house, and probably less than 10 years before I kick the bucket.

I bet there would be hoards of ladies lining up, to look after you here!
