  1. As said. village life is not for most, but once settled there is no better place to be. You are not just another person on the street, but part of the village. Small villages are big families and a family takes care of their own. It's not heaven or hell, but it's a lot better than being a nameless face on a street in a city. Jim

    Well said

Its life Jim but not as we know it!

Think I've heard that before somewhere?

  2. OP be very, very careful if buying farm land to build a house on. Know Thais and farangs do all the time, BUT it can come back and bite you. This no problem, no one cares, is OK until someone decides to care.

My understanding, planing permission can not be back dated. See a land lawyer before spending any money, also remember you will never have a right to that land. It will be your wife [to be] land

    Be careful. Jim

Good advice from Jimbo. In addition to that I would suggest getting the wife (landowner) to make a will leaving you the land/propety just incase you succeed her. Check Thai inheritance laws and you will see why.

  3. I am condoning wrongdoing but some time ago had done over 25k in a year without RoadTax. Stopped many times during that period too (It was suggested fine in these parts was only 200b). Sold the vehicle in that same situation and the new driver was told that back payment will be needed when he renews the expired tax. Always kept up the 1st class insurance though!

  4. I am sure your intentions are honerable but be careful re forum rules about privicy etc. I think the way you worded your request is clever and I hope you get a constructive response BY PM

    Good Luck
