In a couple of months I am going to do my first extension of stay based on Marriage. My Thai wife and I were married at the Banglamung Office in 2010 when we were both living in Chonburi. We are now living in Surin and I will be doing the extension with Surin Immigration. I have the original marriage certificates from Banglamung but I am under the impression that I may need to get a printout of some description from the office where we were married. I don't really want to drive down to Banglamung with the wife and kids so I'm wondering if the paperwork from there is really necessary or, can I transfer the marriage registration to Surin?

Which BASIC pickup would you buy new or almost new?
Coota replied to Sandboxer's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I'm in a similar boat to you as I'm looking for a second car for myself and I want a basic pickup and I'll settle for manual. Our family car is a Mitsu Expanda and it great for the family of five but useless for getting the dirty jobs done like buying gardening/farm stuff etc. I also want a King Cab just in case I have to transport the family. I have settled on the basic Toyota Hilux Z edition. Mind you I've never been a fan of Toyota, probably because there are so many on the road. I've been quoted 629,000 baht for the manual. I believe it's about 50,000 baht more for an Auto on most vehicles here. The single cab would be cheaper and there are a lot around here. Close second would be the Mitsu version although they seem to cater for the rev head in some models. I did look at Ford and considered them but did not feel comfortable with the dealership here. -
I got locked out of my NAB account last night, spent a lot of baht today on the phone to them and they told me it's because I logged in and stayed logged in on 2 devices. I accepted that and they unlocked my account but now I can't get into the password change window, it tells me that it is down and try again later!

Not entirely right mate, my Income Stream which was my former Superannuation has a binding death nomination that overrides my will. Either way, my Thai wife and 3 Thai/Aussie kids get all my estate because they are all dependent on me. -

My situation. I have been legally married, in Thailand, to my wife since 2010. I have the certificate. We have 3 children all born in Thailand in 2006, 2010 and 2017. We live in our own house in rural Thailand. I moved here permanently in 2014 after retiring and had been on a retirement extension up to November 2019 when we all moved to Australia to live. We returned to live in Thailand again in May 2022 and I am using a Non Imm, O Visa for my return to Thailand which I extended once in a different province than where we live based on Retirement. The reason for the different province was because it was easy to extend my Visa there due to having a "friend" in that office and the financial requirements were similar to what an agent provides in Pattaya, if you get my drift. I no longer have that "friend" and I have now registered my address in my home province at my local Office. My extension renewal is due in a few months and I would like to change my reason for extension to one based on my family situation as I am reluctant to bring a lot of money into the country at the moment. Can I change my extension from retirement to one based on marriage or being the father of 3 Thai children? As I am the supporting parent of 3 Thai children what are the requirements for an extension based on this and what is it called. What number is it on this page as the wording can be quite confusing? https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?p=14714

How do Immigration work out the combination method of income to meet the requirements for an Extension based on retirement? My situation, my last renewal was 1 August last year and I had about 1.5 million baht in the bank then. After the renewal I did not bring any monthly money into the country as I was living off the money in the Bank. I was also doing major renovations on our house and spending most of the rest of the money. I resumed bring over monthly amounts over 60,000 baht in October last year and have been doing that every month up to now and will continue to do so up to my next renewal date on 1 August. So, I have missed bringing money in for the first 2 months of my extension period. Up until now I have bought in a total of 740,000 baht and will be well over 800,000 baht by the time I do my annual extension as I will be bringing in about 100,000 a month for the next 4 months. Will this be acceptable by Immigration?

Ford Ranger Wildtrak – Can this be correct ?
Coota replied to tomgreen's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I have similar clips on the front disc brakes of my Mitsu Expander. The main difference is that mine are made of thin wire and look like they could be pulled out by anyone who so desired. They look a bit like circlips. -
I just tried to use the SRT online booking system to buy a ticket to Bangkok on the overnight sleeper. As expected, things did not go smoothly. After having a hard time logging in, the system seems to remember me from a few years back even though my passport number has changed, I managed to login after a password reset. I entered my origin, Surin, then my destination, Bangkok from the drop down menu, tried to enter my day of travel from a drop down calendar but when I clicked on my date, nothing happened. I tried a few different dates and still nothing. I then put my cursor on the date I wanted and found that I had to place it in the very bottom left corner of the day I wanted, not in the middle, not far right but that exact spot and it worked. So, date and destination done, click on next, nothing happens. Tried a few things and still could not get it to work so I rang the hotline expecting no joy from them. Surprisingly, I spoke to a lady who spoke excellent English and she told me that the destination is wrong for Bangkok, even though it is still in the drop down menu, I had to search for Krung Thep Aphiwat which is the new station. I found it in the drop down menu and completed that page and went to the payment page, clicked on Pay by Card and no response, tried a few times and gave up, clicked on Pay at Station and got a code to quote at the station when I go to pay within a certain time. The price of a ticket has also gone up substantially, my last trip cost about 600 baht and it is now about 870 baht.

Her husband probably was trying to get her to a hospital. In Surin we have hundreds of Cambodians arriving at our local hospital by mini bus as they can't get treated in Cambodia.

I reinstalled Nord VPN and, without connecting to another country tried to open an item in the newsletter and it would not open, I then used Nord to connect to another country and the news item would not open. I then turned off Threat Protection in Nord and I was able to open the news item. It seems my threat protection did not like Asean Now links in the newsletter but would allow me to connect to the Asean Now Forum website and open topics there! Go figure.

Thanks for the reply George. It magically fixed itself overnight for some reason! I am using a desktop and Chrome but it also occurred using Edge. I think it may have been my Nord VPN that was the problem, even though I have been using Nord for years and never had the problem before, I also was not using Nord when the problem was happening as in connected to another country. I believe a setting in Nord may have been the problem as I uninstalled Nord and the problem was solved. Trouble is, I use Nord a lot and want to reinstall it. I really don't understand some of the lingo and settings in Nord though, I just know how to connect to another country and the basic settings.
